She blushed at his words. 'Merlin why does he have to be so perfect?'
She pulled back and wiped her eyes with the end of her own scarf. "I am such a mess aren't I?" She chuckled and shook her head. "I'm really sorry for leaving you back there. It's just-well you have to believe me when I say that I do have valid concerns." She looked away, avoiding eye contact. She really didn't want to go into it all now. She would break down even more so, and then he would truly think her crazy. Speaking of crazy...
Ophelia seemed to groan and laugh at the same time. "Charles must think I am crazy." She understood people well enough to know that a persons best friend hold a lot of power of someone. She understood this first hand, as her brother was also her best friend. And look at what he was trying to do to her now.
But she had Rhye now. Someone to show her that she wasn't alone, and that no one held any power over her.

Rhye chuckled. "He doesn't think you are crazy. He, as well as I, know you are." The Ravenclaw giggled, moving his hands up to her shoulders slowly, looking her over once more.
"You sure you're okay? There will be no talking today- we can confess our lives some other day- admitting that mine does have nothing interesting about it, whatsoever." Rhye kissed her forehead for the second time and hugged her really tight, spinning her around off the ground while she was still in his grasp, then putting her back down.
He gripped her hands in his and brought them to his lips, brushing them lightly with a peck, his cold breath running over her hands as he held them still, pulling her to his side. "We should go check on him, though. I feel bad for running out on him too- thankfully, he knows me, and well- he understands completely what I doing."

Ophelia squealed in delight as she was spun around and then set back down.
"We should go check on him, though. I feel bad for running out on him too- thankfully, he knows me, and well- he understands completely what I doing."
"Going back now won't be awkward or embarrassing at all." She said sarcastically, but Rhye just laughed, wrapped an arm around her waist and led her back towards the library.
They took their time walking back, not that it was far at all, and finally came upon Charles. He had his back to them, so she couldn't be sure what he was doing, but he didn't think it was a stretch to assume that he was writing.

Charles waited, and waited, feeling the urge to intrude for every moment of it but deciding against it.
He had stopped walking and was now just listening to the buzz of voices coming from far down the hall, nobody was upset so he really had no reason to do anything at all. Eventually, he sat down on the floor, his head leaning against the corridor wall. “Why haven’t I left yet?” He asked himself with a small shake of his head and a grin, he answered himself thought, saying to himself that he was concerned. But really, they probably already made up and want to be alone.
Just as he figured this out he heard footsteps behind him, two pairs of footsteps.
He stood and turned, his eyebrow raised as he noticed the puffy eyes on Ophelia. Then he noticed their proximity to each other, Rhye had his arm around her waist. Charles blushed a bit and stammered, “You guys probably don’t need me or anything and uh…” He trailed off, unsure of what to say.
As was already known by everybody who knew him, he was awful at anything that involved intense emotions. Ah well.

Rhye and Ophelia made their way back to the library, he was content once again, and so was his Hufflepuff. Once they rounded the corner, he saw his pal sitting on the ground, assuming that he was waiting on the pair. He felt so grateful that Charles was his friend. That boy always did everything with him, since their first year.
"Charles!" Rhye said, smiling warmly to him.
“You guys probably don’t need me or anything and uh…” He trailed off.
"No, we just had to... settle something." He let go of Ophelia enough to walk towards Charles, and when he would stand, he's attack him with a big hug.
"I don't want to sound corny, but you know me. I really appreciate you, Charles." Rhye pulled him back at arms length to nod to him, smiling. "And you aren't going anywhere that easily. You, Ophelia, and I will all be great friends by the end of the day. Stay please."

”No, we just had to… settle something.”
“Obviously.” Charles replied, shooting a look at Ophelia in askance.
”I don’t want to sound corny, but you know me. I really appreciate you, Charles.” Rhye pulled him back to arms length and Charles sighed, finally giving in and smiling.
He shrugged but the smile stayed on his face, “Oh I might as well stay then…” He mumbled, the tips of his ears going pink.
He looked at Ophelia again though, wanting to ask her why she had just run off like that, but think that maybe now was not the time. Later, then. Maybe.

“Obviously.” Charles replied, shooting a look at Ophelia in askance.
Ophelia flushed with extreme embarrassment. She took a seat on the couch, this time on the far side away from Charles. Still upset, and not knowing Charles well at all made her want to bolt. It was one thing to be emotional in front of Rhye, it was a whole other thing to be emotional in front of a stranger. She cleared her throat awkwardly.
"I live with my brother, and he has some very...well, views I don't agree with, and..." She really didn't know how to say it.
But Ophelia decided if the three of them were going to be friends she might as well suck it all up and spill what she could while remaining calm.
"When my parents were killed, my brother and I went into our older brother's care. He associates with the wrong crowd and I don't agree with his views. He can be, a bit extreme at times, and," She glanced at Rhye before looking down at her hands that were picking at her jeans, "I don't want anyone to get hurt by being around me. Especially if they wouldn't meet my brothers," She searched her mind for the right word, "requirements."
Ophelia closed her eyes and took a deep breath. So completely ashamed of her brother who had once been her best friend. She wasn't prepared to admit that he was a Death Eater. Not yet anyways.

“Oh I might as well stay then…” He mumbled.
Rhye felt so bad for his friend, knowing it must have been really awkward and confusing. He didn't know today would feel so weird for all of them, or that the things that did transpire would turn out like this.
Rhye looked from Ophelia to Charles a few times, a half-smile fading from his lips. As the Ravenclaw took his seat by Ophelia in the library, he grabbed her hand and held it to his side, smiling at her slowly. He knew things would be difficult, they would be tough- but knowing someone came with a price, and it would be pretty awkward until things settled down. This new trio was going to be big.

Ophelia felt comforted by Rhye's gesture. She squeezed his hand and looked up into the lights, trying to not be so emotional.
"Gah, I am such a girl." She chuckled half-heartedly. "I promise I'm not normally like this. It really only began over the summer when my parents were murdered." She shook her head and decided rather or not she would be able to veer the subject off of her. She hated the attention, and attention was not what she had been planning on when she came to meet Rhye's friends. If only she didn't worry and panic so much.
Ophelia boldly looked up and made eye contact with Charles. She was a strong woman and this wouldn't detour her. "What are you favorite classes?"

Charles watched Ophelia carefully, listening to everything that she had to say. Alright, so she did have a good reason for running out on them. She had a huge weight on her shoulders.
He knew what it felt like to lose somebody, he had lost his father and sister after all. His father, of course, hadn’t been missed as much as a father should be, but he had never shown any affection towards his children. Margret, his sister, on the other hand was his best friend and the only one he could trust for a while. Her death had hit him hard, and since then he had never quite been as happy or trusting as usual. In his fifth year it had seriously affected hi grades and trust. He was back on track now though.
Charles knew that he should stop moping, he was making Rhye feel bad and Ophelia embarrassed, so he stood straighter and stopped his intense frowning.
”What are your favorite classes?”
Well, she was definitely bolder now.
“Defense Against the Dark Arts…” HE replied a little self consciously, most wouldn’t expect that response from the skinny 16 year old geek.
“And don’t worry about… all that. I lost my sister last year and my dad two years before that, so I know pain. Although I don’t have any threats right now I can still forgive you for being upset. I’m not sure I would have even come to meet me if I were you so…” He trailed off again before looking at Rhye and smiling.
“And its fine, I’m not upset.”

Rhye smirked as Charles answered about his favorite class, nodding. He knew that looking at Chalres, one would think it would be some sort of studies, not a semi-fighting related class.
"I, myself, love potions. I've been a natural creator since I started learning. Its like cooking.. which is probably why I like it so much. I like food." He tried to lighten the mood, nudging Charles lightly. "A man has to eat, right?" He beamed towards Ophelia, getting a better vibe now than when things were happening earlier.
The three friends went on talking about classes, and Rhye pulled back to let them do most of the talking. "The only problem with potions is that Snape isn't friendly and he doesn't like a funny person. We don't have fun in his class. Its forbidden." He chuckled calmly, relaxing on the couch.

Ophelia listened as Charles explained his favorite class. It made sense to her. In fact, he was probably really good at it. He seemed like the type of of kid who would master the theory and practice the spell behind it until he had not only mastered it, but could perform it with a powerful ease. She leaned into Rhye and relaxed against him.
She listened to Rhye talk about how he excels at and enjoys potions. "The only problem with potions is that Snape isn't friendly and he doesn't like a funny person. We don't have fun in his class. Its forbidden."
"I haven't had it just yet. But I heard wonderful things about it though." She said sarcastically. "I actually enjoy potions too. I want to be a Healer, there is nothing more rewarding then being able to help someone in need." She smiled at imagining herself saving someone's life, or helping deliver the newest generation. "And because I want to do that, I love Herbology too. Do either of you know much about the Herbology professor?" She looked between the two.

Rhye and Ophelia both liked potions. Well then… Charles was alone. He chuckled to himself. How very opposite he was to them in that aspect.
“I myself absolutely abhor potions, and I’m one of the worst in the class at it…” He really was, nothing ever turned out right in Potions, not for him anyways. In fact, the class had caused him to have to head to the Healing Wing more than once in his past six years of the darned class.
“I’m the one everybody turns to if we have to evacuate the class due to toxic fumes.” Charles grinned, all of the kids who hated potions loved him because of his ability to stop class in it’s tracks. “Snape hates me.”
I want to be a Healer…” Charles listened to what Ophelia had to say, he could definitely see her as a Healer, and he said as much with a polite smile.
“I actually don’t know much about the Herbology professor, it isn’t one of my favorite classes either, I’m fine at it, and I don’t not enjoy it, but I never really looked forward to it. Transfiguration and DADA are my favorites for sure.”

"I hate learning." Rhye said, straightforward. "I would rather learn on my own than be taught something. Well, in the case of potions and studies and such. Lectures bore me, and I have no concentration when someone is blabbing on." He frowned. "That's my only flaw."
Listening to Charles talk about Snape and potions, he laughed a little loud for his own good. "Snape doesn't like anyone." He winked, turning to make himself more comfortable between the two.
“I actually don’t know much about the Herbology professor, it isn’t one of my favorite classes either, I’m fine at it, and I don’t not enjoy it, but I never really looked forward to it. Transfiguration and DADA are my favorites for sure.”
Rhye nodded, agreeing to an extent. "I don't really like DADA, but I do like Transfiguration. Potions and Care Of Magical Creatures are my top favorites- animals and learning about mystical creatures- its fun, scary, and amazing. All at the same time." He smiled. He really longed to go there, now.

“I’m the one everybody turns to if we have to evacuate the class due to toxic fumes. Snape hates me.”
"I'm sure you aren't that bad," Ophelia hid her laugh behind her hand that held Rhye's. She frowned that neither of them knew much about the Herbology teacher. She guessed she would go in there blind.
"...and I have no concentration when someone is blabbing on."
Ophelia listened interestedly. 'Note to self, don't blab.' She told herself. "Well, I guess I am all right at Transfiguration, I could definitely use help in there though. And I do love animals, my familiar Snow is so precious! I understand that Defense Against the Dark Arts is important, but I don't see it helping people at this level. I doubt that, even had I been attending Hogwarts since my first year, that I would be able to stand up against my brother and his friends. The theory is good and all, I just don't see it helping us stand up against any real threat. Most days it seems like the only real options are give in, try to not be noticed, or fight and die. At least, that's how it always feels for me when it comes to my brother." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "I'd rather die fighting."
