"Darcy!!" Bay yelled as she made her way through the flat. "I can smell it all burning from here!"
She then ran to the dar side of the house. "Oh Merlin Darcy, I can smell it from your room!" She laughed and made her way to the kitchen, suddenly saying 'hi' to the floor with her face. She groaned and picked herself up on her hands, looking back at what had happened. She tripped over Mouse, who had free roam of the apartment.
"I hate you today, Mouse." She said with a smile as the snake slid up near her face. She grinned and hopped up.
Bay entered the small sitting area joined to the kitchen, and where she could look up to see where her bed was behind a half wall. "When is he arriving?" She asked casually.

Darcy screamed back at her twice as loud. "Mouse doesn't like it when you yell like that, and NOTHING is burning!" She growled lightly, playfully. And as Bay seemed to enter into the kitchen, Darcy saw her hug the ground. Darcy snorted loudly, holding back in a monster of a laugh. "See? I told you mouse doesn't like your yelling."
Darcy covered her pot of veggies and sprinted past Bay to her baby. "Did Bay hurt you?" She cooed to her pet. "I hope not. Momma needs to put you back in your tank for a bit."
Darcy rushed her snake back to its tropical themed home. The albino creature didn't want to leave Darcy, so she shrugged. Mouse crawled up her arms and around her neck, seemingly burrowing itself into Darcy's hair where it stayed perfectly still. She ran back into the kitchen, no shoes on but fully dressed and ready for company.
The young girl was weird- she would admit that. Owning a snake, running to get ice cream- she was an odd duck. But people seemed to enjoy that about her. Today, she felt like being somewhat normal. Darcy's faded skinny jeans hugged her legs tight, a loose fitting off-one-shoulder grey sweater sat upon her slender upper half, and her grey flats were tucked by the base of her bed. She hadn't bothered with shoes yet.
Darcy had cooked her favorite. A vegetarian lasagna. She had failed to tell Mathius that she was indeed a vegetable lover, so she hoped he wouldn't be disappointed. If he didn't like her cooking, she could always call in a cheese pizza for the three of them. She sighed heavily and took a sip from her first glass of wine, waiting for the doorbell to ring.
"When is he arriving?" She asked casually.
Darcy shrugged. "Soon enough, I hope!"

Mathius had dressed nicely for the occasion of a Sunday with two girls he had only just met. He looked in the mirror, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes as he examined his outfit. He wore his regular clothing with an extra nice vest over top and his trench coat jacket. He smiled at his reflection, hoping to impress the ladies before heading out of his flat and disapparating.
Within moments he stood outside of the flat where the two girls lived, he rang the doorbell, standing there awkwardly in the doorway.
He hoped it would go well, both Darcy and Bay were really fun girls and Mathius had a feeling that Darcy liked him… Maybe he liked her back…
“Its Mathius!!!” HE announced once the doorbell stopped ringing.

Bay grinned wildly at her friend as the door bell sung its song of happiness and Bay sung out in a high, and surprisingly on pitch, voice. "He's here Darcy!"
She skipped to the front door, checking herself in the mirror. Earlier that morning she had put on an orange chambray top that tied in the front and turn back sleeves that had button details. It was a light fabric and hung on her slim frame loosely. She wore black jean shorts that folded up a few times at her knee's, and completed her outfit with red flats. She checked her hair in the mirror, she had gotten it to stay perfectly straight for her and was very proud of it.
Bay opened the door's and saw a very good looking Mathius at the door. Bay wiggled her eyebrows. "I thought we were expecting a man, not a God." She laughed and stepped forward, wrapping her arms around Mathius' neck in a tight hug, laughing all the while. She gave a squeeze and pulled back. "Darcy is just inside, around the corner. It's a small flat with two parts, impossible to get lost." She winked, "Or get any privacy." She took a few steps back and grabbed her clutch purse from the round table in front of the mirror.
"I'm heading out." She pulled Mathius into the room and walked past him to the door. She grinned evilly as she called out, "Bye Darcy! I'm leaving. You kids have fun!"

The doorbell was ringing, and her heart was beating wildly. She put down her wine glass on the table and hopped up onto the counter, looking like she was waiting for the food to finish up. She had a couple of things left to put together, but for the most part, dinner was done and ready to be served. She was still so nervous as to whether he'd like to eat it or not.
"It's Mathius!" The familiar deep voice came from the other side of the door.
"He's here Darcy!" Bay said.
Her heart sped up so fast, she didn't think it was possible. Calm down, Darcy. He's just a friend.. He only came over here for Dinner and to be polite. She calmed herself down that way, as to not get her hopes up or imagine the night differently. Bay went to answer the door. She couldn't hear the chit-chat they were speaking of, but she heard when Bay told her that she was leaving.
"I'm heading out." She pulled Mathius into the room and walked past him to the door. She grinned evilly as she called out, "Bye Darcy! I'm leaving. You kids have fun!"
Darcy's jaw dropped. She slunk down on the counter, practically falling off again, but without landing on the floor. She caught herself carefully, glancing over towards Mathius as he stood in the doorway. Well go talk to him! She scolded herself. The young girl almost skipped up to him, a bright smile on her face. "I honestly didn't know she was leaving.." Darcy apologized. "If you want to reschedule.." She trailed off and looked down, not sure if being there by himself with her would make him uncomfortable.
"But, if you want to stay," she smiled lightly again, looking into his eyes, "I made a veggie lasagna." She beamed, heading to the Kitchen happily before running back. "I'm sorry- I didn't happen to ask you if you were okay with eating vegetarian food. If you would like something else, we could call a pizza or something." Her hair bounced around her as she walked to the Kitchen, checking on her food, making sure everything was finally put together and ready to be eaten just in case.
The blonde looked his way, shaking her head. "Would you like me to take your coat for you?" She asked politely, moving up in front of him gracefully. Once she was done asking, she felt a moving along her neck and hair. She gasped. "Damnit." She hissed, pulling Mouse off her neck and holding him in her hand. He slowly curled around her wrist and she turned towards his tank where she pulled him off so he could get back to his home. "I'm sorry if he freaked you out!" She said over her shoulder, a small smile still left on her lips.
"I feel like I am being such a bad host. Please, make yourself comfortable!"

Mathius stood grinning as the door was opened by Bay looking lovely, "Hi!" He said, not sure how to answer to her saying that he was a god. It did made his grin a little bit wider though.
Then Bay announced her leaving and left, leaving Mathius on the doorstep looking rather confused. He smiled again though when he saw Darcy coming.
"I honestly didn't know she was leaving.." Darcy apologized. "If you want to reschedule.."
"No, definitely not, I'm not going to let you go through all of the trouble of making dinner or leave you alone. Bay's leaving made it so I can 't." Mathius grinned, taking off his shoes and jacket at the door.
When Darcy asked if vegetarian lasagna was alright he laughed, "Like I told you when we first met, I like most food; and vegetarian lasagna sounds great."
Mathius handed his coat to Darcy when he asked and caught site of the serpent at the same time as Darcy felt him. "So this must be Mouse." He said, intrigued to see the albino snake wrapped around Darcy. He smiled as he watched her put him back in what was very obviously his home.
"I feel like I am being such a bad host. Please, make yourself comfortable!"
Mathius followed after Darcy, "You are not a bad host at all! You've taken my coat already and you have made lasagna. I have absolutely no complaints thus far."

"No, definitely not, I'm not going to let you go through all of the trouble of making dinner or leave you alone. Bay's leaving made it so I can 't." Mathius grinned, taking off his shoes and jacket at the door.
She sighed in relief when he stayed, her smile growing wider. "Well at least you are considerate of my hard work, unlike Bay." She grinned up at him, taking his hand and leading him into the Kitchen. She barely even noticed that she had made such bold of a move, but she did. "So how are you today?" She asked happily, releasing his hand and heading to the oven. She bent over, grabbed her padded muffs so it wouldn't burn her, and pulled the glassware out of it, sitting it onto the counter. She pulled the muffs off and smiled at him, nodding. "Hope you'll like it!" She chuckled.
"Like I told you when we first met, I like most food; and vegetarian lasagna sounds great."
She couldn't help but grin so hard, her nose scrunched up happily. "You're a great guest." She chirped, grabbing two plates from the cabinet and cutting him a moderately sized slice. Grabbing utensils from the drawer, she put both their plates on the table and chuckled, eyeing him lightly. "What would you like to drink?" She posed, a gentle smile on her face. "I have tea in the fridge?"
"And yeah, that was Mouse!" She nodded, a big smile on her face. "He tripped Bay this morning, she did a face plant." Darcy laughed, holding her stomach. "I didn't know if you wanted him out, so I tried putting him up- he just wouldn't go back in his tank." She shook her head, chuckling.

Mathius followed behind Darcy, gripping her hand until she let go.
"Well at least you are considerate of my hard work, unlike Bay."
Mathius grinned, a fake self righteous look on his face. “I’m very considerate.” He growled with a laugh. “Poor Bay, she will be missing out on a good meal!.”
“I’m really good! I mean, I’m getting a free meal, and I’m with a friend. Plus, I woke up quite happy so it is quite a good day.” Another grin and Mathius looked with hungry eyes at the lasagna that came out of the oven.
When Darcy asked what he would like to drink he smiled, “I would love a big cup of tea please and thank you!” He laughed, “I love my tea.”
Mathius doubled over laughing when Darcy explained that Mouse had tripped Bay that morning, “It seems he knew that Bay would be leaving us!” He responded, still chuckling. “Mouse seems to have quite a lot of character for a snake, I like him already.”

“I’m very considerate.” He growled with a laugh. “Poor Bay, she will be missing out on a good meal!.”
Darcy went to get them two glasses of tea, smiling the whole time. As she came back and sat down, she was biting her lip. "Is it possible to smile too much?" She looked up at him, a smile ironically on her face.
“I’m really good! I mean, I’m getting a free meal, and I’m with a friend. Plus, I woke up quite happy so it is quite a good day.” Another grin.
"I'm very glad you're in a very good mood then!" She beamed, beginning to pick at the food in front of them. She took a couple of small bites and took a sip of her drink. "We wouldn't want an unhappy Mathius, your smile looks too good to not be there." She winked, picking her food apart again, taking another bite.
“It seems he knew that Bay would be leaving us!” He responded, still chuckling. “Mouse seems to have quite a lot of character for a snake, I like him already.”
"He has a good sense for character, I swear." She laughed, patting his hand on the table lightly. "He should love you." She added softly, a warm smile on her face.

"Is it possible to smile too much?"
Mathius grinned in response, “Oh yes, luckily, it isn’t a bad thing if you do! Unless of course you smile at inappropriate moments, like when you’re angry… In which case I’d say that would be Inappropriate Affect.” He laughed, proving that he didn’t think that it was a bad moment to smile just then.
"We wouldn't want an unhappy Mathius, your smile looks too good to not be there."
“I’m flattered!” Mathius responded sincerely with another grin on his face. “I’m afraid that I’m one of the people who sometimes smiles at the wrong moment though…” he admitted, the grin still on his face. When the grin left his face something bad was happening, or he was bored, so either way you never want Mathius to not smile.
"He should love you." She added softly, a warm smile on her face.
“I hope he does, I don’t want a snake to hate me. I’m not sure I could hold my own against him. What do you think?” Mathius laughed, glancing towards the cage where the snake lived.

“Oh yes, luckily, it isn’t a bad thing if you do! Unless of course you smile at inappropriate moments, like when you’re angry… In which case I’d say that would be Inappropriate Affect.”
Darcy watched him carefully, smiling still. "I'd be the one to laugh at an inappropriate moment, not smile." She laughed, nodding. "I'm always laughing at myself, so, any moment could be an inappropriate moment." She grinned, glancing down at their plates. They were almost done it seemed.
“I’m flattered!” Mathius responded sincerely with another grin on his face. “I’m afraid that I’m one of the people who sometimes smiles at the wrong moment though…”
"I could see that." She teased, a smirk on her face.
“I hope he does, I don’t want a snake to hate me. I’m not sure I could hold my own against him. What do you think?” Mathius laughed, glancing towards the cage where the snake lived.
Darcy giggled loudly, clutching her mouth quickly. "He wouldn't hurt a fly. He's been spoiled too much." She nodded, punching him lightly in the shoulder.
She was grinning from ear to ear until a strange smell drifted into her senses. Darcy's eyes widened, and she looked sharply at the stove, her head shaking. "Shit shit shit!" She hopped up, only to see a small flame start to spark up on the counter top. She looked back to Mathius, frantic. She ran to the sink and got a wet cloth, throwing it over the still-small fire, watching it burn out, smoke filling the kitchen.
She leaned back against the counter and slumped underneath the hazy fog, her head going into her hands. She felt tears well up in her eyes. Darcy didn't even know how she could have been so stupid to make a mistake like that. She was just too distracted with Mathius, apparently. "I'm so sorry!" She looked up to him, feeling like she just ruined the evening all together.

"He wouldn't hurt a fly. He's been spoiled too much." She nodded, punching him lightly in the shoulder.
“You sure?” Mathius asked, a fake tremor in his voice, but he gave away that he was joking when he grinned again. “I can’t act to save my life…” he groaned, laughing.
He was still laughing when he too caught the whiff of smoke and he frowned, “Well that isn’t good.” He said, obviously.
He followed the frantic Darcy to the kitchen only to see her putting out a small fire. He coughed a bit on the smoke that filled the air and he waved his wand, saying a spell that would clear the room. Darcy had her head in her hands and was saying sorry and Mathius walked up to him, folding her into a hug. “Its okay! Don’t worry, I’ve made that mistake before. It’s nothing to be ashamed about.” The room had cleared of smoke and he noticed her tears. “No harm done alright, no harm done.” He comforted, patting her on the back.

Darcy wrapped her arms around him as he patted her back. She sniffled, slowly calming down again. "But I told you I'd be on my best behaviour." She laughed awkwardly, looking up at him, a smile starting to reform. "I usually don't cry." She puffed her cheeks out, holding a breath so the tears would be fought back. "I just got embarrassed." She chuckled. She was still in his hug, and she wasn't complaining. "I feel bad, I thought I just scared you off and ruined the evening. Bay would kill me." She shook her head lightly.
Darcy rubbed her eyes gently, patting Mathius on the chest. "What do you want to do now?" She smiled, clearing her thoughts from the incident before. "I say you choose, because I can't function when you're here, apparently." She winked, laughing.

“You don’t need to be on your best behavior, I never am….” Mathius grinned.
"I usually don't cry." She puffed her cheeks out, holding a breath so the tears would be fought back. "I just got embarrassed." She chuckled.
“Embarrassed? Why? It’s only me, I bet I could embarrass myself even worse if you came to my flat… I’m kind of clumsy around my home.” Mathius pulled back from the hug, not wanting to smother Darcy or make her think he was too forward.
"I feel bad, I thought I just scared you off and ruined the evening. Bay would kill me."
“I am going nowhere, much to much going on here for me to leave! Bay has no reason to kill anyone just yet, although if anything else burns we might have to leave just to breath.” HE laughed, patting Darcy’s back once again.
"What do you want to do now
“Maybe we can sit down with Mouse? I want to get to know him.”

She noticed him pull back from the hug and smiled, smoothing herself out. She was a mess. "Well, you're Mathius. When you aren't on your best behavior, you don't burn down houses!" She joked, winking lightly. "And yeah! You're still getting to know me." She chuckled. "I'm making a terrible first couple of impressions!"
“I am going nowhere, much to much going on here for me to leave! Bay has no reason to kill anyone just yet, although if anything else burns we might have to leave just to breath.”
Darcy frowned, bumping him with her shoulder. "You're mean." She pouted fakely. It was impossible to not grin, and so she did shortly after.
“Maybe we can sit down with Mouse? I want to get to know him.”
She giggled, nodding happily. "Of course." She grinned, grabbing him by the hand once again, showing him to the seating area, a white couch made for two. Darcy sat him down, giving him a warm smile, before walking back to get Mouse. She pulled him up, and he instinctively curled around her wrist. "He likes to wrap around your arm." She looked back over to Mathius, a grin on her face still, walking back and plopping back onto the sofa beside him.
She stretched out her arm to him, well her hand, and Mouse lifted his head, sniffing her friend. "He's figuring you out." She smiled. Mouse uncurled himself from her wrist. "I guess he likes you." She laughed. "He's trying to crawl to you." She held Mouse until she knew that Mathius would want to touch him, or hold him.
