"Well, you're Mathius. When you aren't on your best behavior, you don't burn down houses!" She joked, winking lightly. "And yeah! You're still getting to know me." She chuckled. "I'm making a terrible first couple of impressions!"
“When I’m on my worst, I break things…” Mathius joked with a laugh, winking back. “I think I know you well enough now!” He grinned again, “And actually, you’re proving that you are a really exciting and fun person, best couple of first impressions I could think of!”
"You're mean."
“Naw, I’m just teasing.” Mathius poked Darcy in the side and chuckled, “Which might be taken as being mean… But I don’t think I am!.”
When Darcy grabbed Mouse from his cage and brought him over, wrapped around her arm, to Mathius he smiled. “HE is one hansom creature, potentially better looking then me!”He held out his left hand, wanting the albino serpent to wrap around his own arm. “Well I like him too so let me at him!” He grinned at Darcy.

“When I’m on my worst, I break things…” Mathius joked with a laugh, winking back. “I think I know you well enough now!” He grinned again, “And actually, you’re proving that you are a really exciting and fun person, best couple of first impressions I could think of!”
Darcy laughed heartily at him. "I could only hope there aren't many glass objects in your apartment." She grinned. Darcy blushed feverishly as he complimented her on being exciting. She shook her head. "Only when you're around or its ice cream day." She winked, an idea popping into her head. "We should go get ice cream sometime. I go there almost every other week." She laughed. "I'm seriously like a two year old at heart." When he poked her in the side, she squeaked, holding her hand over her mouth to shush it. She laughed into her hand, her eyes lifting at the creases.
Mathius he smiled. “He is one hansom creature, potentially better looking then me!” He held out his left hand, wanting the albino serpent to wrap around his own arm. “Well I like him too so let me at him!” He grinned at Darcy.
Darcy's eyes widened a bit, shocked. He is amazing. "Bay barely lets me put him on her. You amaze me, Mathius." She winked, feeling Mouse slip off her wrist and arm to crawl onto Mathius' sleeve. When he was off, she grinned, watching Mathius' face. "Looks like you're a natural- oh, and you got a new friend." Darcy couldn't peel her eyes off them two. She was stunned with his willingness to hold Mouse so soon.

. "I could only hope there aren't many glass objects in your apartment."
“Nope… Lots of painting though, the floor has a lot of paint splotches from me dropping pain things.” Mathius laughed, the image of his colorful studio floor coming to mind with the splotchy floor and paintings everywhere.
"Only when you're around or its ice cream day." She winked, an idea popping into her head. "We should go get ice cream sometime. I go there almost every other week." She laughed. "I'm seriously like a two year old at heart."
“I love ice cream! Its food, but really creamy and sweet and delicious!” Mathius grinned, then, “Almost every week? I go like… once a month it think?” Another laugh and he winked, “So it’s a date then? And ice cream date. When are you free next?”
"Bay barely lets me put him on her. You amaze me, Mathius."
“I love animals, snakes included luckily for you. And thank you! I think?” Mathius chuckled, petting the snake’s head with his right index finger slowly as he wound up his arm. “I think I do have a new friend, sorry Darcy, you’ve been replaced as my newest friend.”

“Nope… Lots of painting though, the floor has a lot of paint splotches from me dropping pain things.” Mathius laughed.
"That just gives it a personality!" She grinned. "I think painting is beautiful. I never got the hang of it. I'm not artsy anyways. I'm more of a doodler, and a reader." She chuckled, her bright eyes observing him intently.

Darcy nodded, "My mom used to take me almost every other week.." She sighed. "She died when I was young, so, its like a memory that I'd want to keep." She laughed, sounding silly. "Plus the shop owners love me down there- its a new combination every time." She beamed, then blushing. "Yes, it is very much a date! I'm free after work, any day." She winked back at him, her rosy cheeks almost a bright red now.

"I've been replaced by a snake." She said flatly, her lips twitching into a small smile. "That's incredible." She teased, sticking her tongue out.

“You think? I’ll have to show you some day, I personally think the place is a mess, but it is quite unique!” Mathius laughed, his flat was clean everywhere except for his studio, it was unorganized and colorful but it was always going to be his favorite part of the flat, there were only three rooms in his flat; the kitchen, the studio/living room and his bedroom.
"My mom used to take me almost every other week.." She sighed. "She died when I was young, so, its like a memory that I'd want to keep."
Mathius looked up, eyes wide, “My mom died when I was young as well, I keep the memory of her new by keeping her sketches with me at all times.” He grinned, he had one with him just then, a sketch she had made of the house they had lived in when she had been alive.
"Yes, it is very much a date! I'm free after work, any day." ] As am I and I’d like to see you again very soon so whenever you want we can meet again.” Mathius laughed, “The snake is less talkative.” He joked, “Nah, I love your talkativeness.” HE stuck his tongue out back.

“You think? I’ll have to show you some day, I personally think the place is a mess, but it is quite unique!”
Darcy didn't doubt him one bit. "If it is as unique as you, I'm sure I'll love it." She grinned, patting him on the shoulder lightly as Mouse seemed to go still. He probably was about to go to sleep. "Looks like you have a sleepy snake on your arm." She grinned, enjoying the moment.
Mathius looked up, eyes wide, “My mom died when I was young as well, I keep the memory of her new by keeping her sketches with me at all times.”
She gasped, but a smile formed. "My mom died in 9/11." Darcy wasn't sure is he'd know about it, but being Muggle-Born, he probably might have heard it. She nodded, but the smile kind of faded. "She was in one of the planes that got hi-jacked, but was taken down by passengers. She didn't survive the crash." She shuddered. "But I'm sorry about your Mom, too. Is your Dad still around?" She asked quietly, unsure if he's be comfortable talking about it all. "I'd love to see yours and her sketches.." She added, just as quiet, a weak smile on her face.
"As am I and I’d like to see you again very soon so whenever you want we can meet again.” Mathius laughed, “The snake is less talkative.” He joked, “Nah, I love your talkativeness.” He stuck his tongue out back.
Darcy giggled, seeing him stick his tongue out. "Mmhm, I am still the mature one, I see." She winked. "And I love your..." She trailed off, "well, I am sure I'll find something to love." She teased, a grin on her lips.

Mathius looked at the still serpent on his arm and grinned, “I’m comfortable I guess. Or maybe he likes my cologne.”
"My mom died in 9/11."
“I’m sorry… It must have been awful for you.” Mathius replied sadly, “My mom took her own life…” He sighed, “I still don’t understand why and I never will.” He smiled then when she asked about his dad, “Yeah, he lives a couple blocks away from me and I see him once a week or so. He keeps to himself. “ Mathius fished in his pocket for a paper and he pulled out the sketch his mom had done. “Here, look.” He handed it over to Darcy with a smile. “It’s my childhood home.”
"Mmhm, I am still the mature one, I see." She winked. "And I love your..." She trailed off, "well, I am sure I'll find something to love."
“You, the mature one?” Mathius scoffed, grinning still, “And you love everything about me, that’s why you can’t say.” He joked some more, poking her in the side again.

“I’m comfortable I guess. Or maybe he likes my cologne.”
"Well, you do smell fantastic." She winked, her eyes getting bright.
“I’m sorry… It must have been awful for you.” Mathius replied sadly, “My mom took her own life…” He sighed, “I still don’t understand why and I never will.” He smiled then when she asked about his dad. “Yeah, he lives a couple blocks away from me and I see him once a week or so. Darcy felt a tear well up in her eye but she gulped and fought it back. "I'm so sorry." She rushed into give him a hug, squeezing him tightly before pulling back and smiling at him. "We have more in common than we think."
Darcy chuckled lightly, then took the sketch from him, eyeing him somewhat cautiously, looking down at the paper. "It's so pretty." She smiled up at him, running her fingers alongside the edges. "I know where you get your talent from then, for your painting." She grinned, even though she hadn't seen his paintings.
“You, the mature one?” Mathius scoffed, grinning still, “And you love everything about me, that’s why you can’t say.” He joked some more, poking her in the side again.
Darcy shrugged sheepishly, a toothy smile on her face. "You caught me, I do absolutely love everything about YOUU-" She shrieked loudly, being poked in the side. She giggled uncontrollably, doubling over on the recliner. "Don't!" She laughed. "I'm too ticklish for that." She huffed, pulling the hair from her face, failing, as it fell back down in her eyes. She was certainly enjoying herself.

"We have more in common than we think."
“That we do Darcy, that we do.” Mathius replied, leaning back with his free arm behind his neck.
“Yeah, my mom was really talented, she sketched everything she saw! I have a box of her sketches at home.” Mathius grinned, “I’ll never be as artistic as her, but I try my best.”
"You caught me, I do absolutely love everything about YOUU-"
Mathius laughed when Darcy shrieked, “Precisely why I ticked you, it obviously works to give me the upper hand. And I caught you sooo good.” He grinned cheekily, feeling Mouse move on his arm.

“That we do Darcy, that we do.” Mathius replied, leaning back with his free arm behind his neck.
Darcy watched him, chuckling.
“Yeah, my mom was really talented, she sketched everything she saw! I have a box of her sketches at home.” Mathius grinned, “I’ll never be as artistic as her, but I try my best.”
"I'm sure you trying makes her really happy." She patted his knee, letting her hand rest there for a moment then blushing all over again. "I would love to go see those sketches very soon!" She beamed, excited about seeing his memories of his mom.
Mathius laughed when Darcy shrieked, “Precisely why I ticked you, it obviously works to give me the upper hand. And I caught you sooo good.”
She rolled her eyes at him and pulled her legs up on the couch, sitting indian style facing him. She leaned over and ran her hand along Mouse's spine, soothing him as he woke up. "He really does like you." She grinned. "You know what that means?" She raised her eyebrows, giggling. "You'll have to come over and see him all the time." She winked.

“I hope so…” Mathius grinned, his mother would be really happy that he had continued the family hobby of being an artist. “And you should come see them as soon as you can, I’d love to show them off.”
He really does like you." She grinned. "You know what that means?" She raised her eyebrows, giggling. "You'll have to come over and see him all the time." She winked.
“I’d love to come and see him more often, it would be my pleasure to visit him.” Mathius smiled, looking into Darcy’s eyes, “You know, than I can see you more often as well or something…” He blushed a bit, unwinding the snake from his arm and handing Mouse back to his loving owner.

“I hope so…” Mathius grinned, his mother would be really happy that he had continued the family hobby of being an artist. “And you should come see them as soon as you can, I’d love to show them off.”
Darcy nodded happily. "Just say the time, I'll be over!" She chuckled. "Don't hope so. I know so." She reassured him, a warm smile sent his way.
“I’d love to come and see him more often, it would be my pleasure to visit him.” Mathius smiled, looking into Darcy’s eyes, “You know, than I can see you more often as well or something…” He blushed a bit, unwinding the snake from his arm and handing Mouse back to his loving owner.
Darcy's eyes got wide, and she grinned. "Mouse would appreciate that." She chuckled, but then stopped, her cheeks on fire all of a sudden. "I would," she breathed in, stuttering because her heart was beating hard, "I would love to see you more, too, Mathius." She breathed out, a big smile on her face. She was screaming inside. Darcy's fingers brushed against his own as she took Mouse back, causing her to giggle again. She couldn't be not-giggly to save her life.
Mouse curled up around her wrist again, and she looked into Mathius' eyes for the hundredth time that night. "I'd say after causing a fire, this was a great end to our meeting." She winked playfully and pulled her sweater up on her shoulder, leaning her head on her knees as she hugged them to her chest, her eyes never taking off of Mathius.

"Just say the time, I'll be over!"
Mathius tapped his chin thoughtfully, “How about Tuesday, six o-clock. I can cook dinner for you this time.”
"Mouse would appreciate that." She chuckled, but then stopped, her cheeks on fire all of a sudden. "I would," she breathed in, stuttering because her heart was beating hard, "I would love to see you more, too, Mathius."
“He better, I don’t want to go through trouble and not be appreciated by a snake.” Mathius whined, grinning. He noticed the flare in Darcy’s cheeks and his grin widened, “Good! Then we will be seeing more of each other, I insist. When I insist, you can’t refuse.” He laughed, her stutter was so cute, she was so cute in a lovely way.
"I'd say after causing a fire, this was a great end to our meeting."
“I’d have to agree with you there Darcy, from a kitchen fire to us arranging our next meeting, I’d say that this was a very successful first date. I mean, meeting, or whatever…” Mathius stumbled over his words, going pink. “Sorry.” He shrugged, an apologetic smile on his face and a rebellious piece of hair in front of his left eye, making him blink more often than usual with that particular eye.
Mathius gazed at Darcy happily, he hadn’t felt this nervous with a girl for a while and usually nervousness was a good sign when it came to this type of thing, his usually smooth nature was abandoning him as he sat there.

Mathius tapped his chin. “How about Tuesday, six o-clock. I can cook dinner for you this time.”
Darcy just nodded, a childish smile on her lips. "Sounds great, I hope you don't burn your house down with all those paintings." She winked teasingly.
“He better, I don’t want to go through trouble and not be appreciated by a snake.” Mathius whined, grinning. He noticed the flare in Darcy's cheek and his grin widened, “Good! Then we will be seeing more of each other, I insist. When I insist, you can’t refuse.” He laughed.
Darcy ran her hand through her hair, pulling it behind her ear. "You're simply right, I can't refuse you. What kind of magic is this?" She grinned back, extending her hand to playfully slap his knee, then retracting it quickly, her childish side showing.
“I’d have to agree with you there Darcy, from a kitchen fire to us arranging our next meeting, I’d say that this was a very successful first date. I mean, meeting, or whatever…” Mathius stumbled over his words, going pink. “Sorry.” He shrugged, an apologetic smile on his face.
Darcy got on her knees and moved the piece of hair behind his ears without speaking. When she finished, she sat back down closer to him this time, a warm smile on her face. "I'm fine with this being a first date," she paused, "if you are too." Darcy looked into his eyes a moment before biting her lip gently, smiling through it. "Don't say sorry. I thought it was cute." She beamed.

"Sounds great, I hope you don't burn your house down with all those paintings."
“Perish the thought! My paintings burning gives me pain.” Mathius cried back, faux horror on his face and his eyes crinkled in smile. HE winked back just as childishly before folding up his mother’s sketch and putting it safely back where it belonged, in his pocket.
"You're simply right, I can't refuse you. What kind of magic is this?"
Mathius grinned, leaning in and whispered, “I’ve enchanted you.” She slapped his knee and he laughed, “I’ve got you this badly? I didn’t know my charm worked that well.”
He sat there grinning some more as Darcy said that she was fine with this being a first date and that he didn’t have to say sorry, that he was ‘cute’. “I’m fine with it! No complaints from this end of the couch.”
Mathius smiled, softer this time, more sincerely, when Darcy sat down close to him. This was turning out to be a day he wouldn’t have missed for the world, and it meant that he wasn’t going to miss the next one either.
