Hannah couldn’t believe she had a place to call her own. It wasn’t too much just was just perfect. She could hide out here pretending to act like a muggle and that she was completely safe. When the truth was that no one was safe anywhere but she didn’t dwell on that. She already had big plans for her new apartment. One being to make it into a ‘Badger Cave’ for Hufflepuffs and she was already planning a party for her friends to come over. She was loving the idea of being an mature young adult owning her own place and all. Her father told her to get her own life and she did. He could just sit in that empty house by himself for kicking her out. She sat down the last of her boxes. She didn’t feel like doing it the muggle way so she flicked her wand using wordless magic to unpack. She made sure all the curtains were closed first so no muggles saw. She fell down on her couch totally relaxed trying not to think about her future year at Hogwarts and the fact she had no idea where some of her closest friends were.

Bella made her way down the street from the diner were she had asked her foster mother to drop her off. She stashed a couple cookies from her meal in her bag, wrapping them in a napkin and setting them so they wouldn't get crushed as she moved. Emily had insisted on staying with her the whole way but Bella refused. It's not that she didn't think she could handle herself, it's that Bella wanted a little bit of freedom to wonder on her own. The deatheaters had a hold of the world, this is very true, nut Bella had tangled with a Death eater before. (This she had conveniently forgot to tell Emily and Matthew. They wouldn't let her out on her own if she had let it slip. ) The wind licked over Bella's forearm. Chills rushed up and down her back, calling the hairs on her arms and the back of her neck to attention. She pulled her blue hoody on over her shoulders and hugged her body. She cursed the fact that she was wearing a skirt. Then again, she only wore skirts. Dresses and skirts equaled Bella's style. Ellie always teased her for it. Bella didn't fire back. She didn't have a good come back. She loved Ellie all the same. Her bag slapped against her thigh as she moved in and out of the crowd. Some people in the diner had stopped and asked her what " Bludgers " meant. Bella would look up at them and say it was the name of a band. Most didn't care to ask more details. After a good ten minutes of searching, she finally found the address. Isabella rang the door bell to Hannah's flat a couple times. She peeked over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed at all. Now a days, not a soul could go any where with out looking over their shoulder. Deatheaters marched freely and took whom ever they wished. Bella rang the door bell again at the though. " Hannah, it is Bella. I am freezing. " She called out. Her voice was soft. No matter how much she tried to yell, Bella's voice never got louder. It just squeaked. CLICKY

Hannah heard the knock on her door and had jumped several feet in the air falling off her couch with a thud. She muttered curse words under her breath as she grabbed her wand and went over to the door looking through the peephole to see how it was. She recognized the young girl right away by her voice and appearance as Bella. Hannah quickly opened the door because why would Death Eaters impersonate a fifth year Hufflepuff. She was also looking forward to having to having company. She saw the firewhisky bottles on her kitchen counter so she darted over hoping Bella wouldn’t see her hide them, the last thing she wanted to explain is why she had firewhisky in her flat and why Bella couldn’t have any. She put them in the back of her refrigerator hoping Bella wouldn’t go digging through her refrigerator. She hadn’t put them away in the first place due to the fact she thought Susan would arrive before Bella. "Welcome to my home. I'm thinking about calling it the Badger Cave," said Hannah "oh by the way Susan is coming over later."

Susan had packed everything she had owned into her Hogwarts suitcase. She had all everything she had kept over the years plus all of priceless Bones family things that had been left her. The only thing that she had to carry was her Uncle Edgar’s guitar which she would never leave behind, it was the first guitar she had ever played and she planned on keeping it until she had grown kids of her own. Susan almost dropped everything, which had included groceries she had picked up on the way, while getting ready to knock on the door getting a few curse words from the neighbours. She snapped back with the muggle curse words she knew. Some muggles are just plain stupid. Susan knocked on the door “Hey Hannah its Susan please let me in. I’m about to drop everything I’m holding!”

Hannah heard the second knock on her door and knew it had to be Susan. It totally left her mind the idea of Susan or any of her closest of friends being imposters so she opened the door right open. After realizing how stupid that was she cursed to herself under her breath. She knew how dangerous that could be and expected a full out lecture by Susan about how she could have just gotten herself killed along with Bella. That thought hit her hard in the gut; one stupid action could have just killed a fifteen year old girl. She prayed she hadn’t just done that very thing. Her mother had been right that drinking impairs your judgment even if you only had a few sips. That’s when Hannah remembered that she still had a bottle of Firewhisky on her coffee table that she forgot to put away. Hopefully no one thinks anything of it. "Hey Susan! I've missed you so much!"

Bella was barely in the door when she watched Hannah scurry around to clean up the fire whiskey bottles from the table. She giggled. The bottles didn't bother her at all. She understood Hannah was of age and she was going to drink. The younger wouldn't touch the stuff again but if her friend wanted to drink then Isabella wasn't going to stop her from having a few drinks. " That is fine. " She said taking a glance around at the newly named " Badger Cave "
When a second round of knocks was heard, Bella wheeled around in her gladiator sandals. Hannah had the door open again. She didn't recognize the girl under the luggage. She shed her hoody then went over to help her out. She took a bag from Susan's hand and set it down beside Hannah's empty Fire Whiskey bottle. " Good to see you again Susan. " Isabella said standing out of her way.

Hannah was relieved to know she didn’t have to have the whole drinking talk with Bella. That would have been majorly awkward. She still felt guilty for drinking when she knew that Bella was coming over. She knew it was bad for her and if she keeps it up she’ll be getting help for alcoholism but she tried to keep that thought out her head. “Sorry about that. I though Suzy would be here first but I was off a bit but it’s not like you’re a little first year that would drink those when I wasn’t looking,” said Hannah “I hope.” She tried to help Susan hoping to avoid being yelled at.

Susan couldn’t believe it when Hannah’s door swung open without even a personal question being asked. She was about to start scolding Hannah for being so reckless about letting people in her home but Bella had distracted her with talking some things off her hands so she was balancing less and then Hannah made that load even lighter. “Hannah, you know if you’re not more careful I’ll be burying you next,” said Susan “but thanks for the help though.” Susan saw the empty Firewhisky bottle and her temper flew up again. She was furious that Hannah had been drinking when she knew Bella was coming specially a whole bottle! She then calmed herself down reminding herself about when her aunt died she had been drinking two bottles a day. “It’s wonderful to see you two again. It’s nice to see you not in funeral clothes this time Hannah,” said Susan making herself at home.

Hannah let Susan get through her little fit before saying anything. She loved her friend to death just not the nagging that came out of her mouth. She sighed as Susan made herself at home.
"Go right ahead and make your self at home," said Hannah rolling her eyes "and for Merlin's sake Suzy stop acting like you're my grandmother."

Bella covered her lips and chuckled at the back and forth bickering between her friends. They argued like an old married couple. She shifted her hazel orbs from Hannah to Susan The brunette had a point though. Hannah opened her door a bit to trusting for them. She picked up the empty bottle of firewhisky and traced the top of the cool glass with her manicured nail. Emily told her not to touch alcohol at all. As long as her foster parents didn't smell it on her breath she figured she was safe. Bella sighed thinking back to the two who took her in when her own shunned her. She didn't want to disappoint them.
" How has your summers been going? " Isabella asked, trying to keep tempers calmed. She knew that might be a stretch but hey, it was worth a shot in the dark. She put the cool glass in her hand down and rubbed the mini amount of liquid off on her skirt.

“Mine’s been going pretty good. Finally got an apartment and working on getting a muggle job until school starts,” said Hannah.
She plopped down on the couch using Susan’s lap as a pillow. It felt like it did before the war if only for a few seconds. She started laughing feeling ridiculous getting up.
"How about yours?"

“I’ve had better. Living in the Leaky Cauldron isn’t my idea of a good summer but it can always get better,” said Susan.
Susan petted Hannah’s head before she got up. She giggled something fierce. They weren’t best friends for nothing.
“Then we wonder why people think we’re lesbians,”

Ernie Macmillan, as a rule, wasn't fond of the cold wind. That wasn't to say he disliked it always - winter was probably his favourite season for reasons other than snow - but that he instead just found it obstinately annoying because it always seemed to bother him when he was trying to get something done. Naturally, as the wind, it couldn't just do the considerate thing and back off for a couple of seconds, but he entertained the thought anyway, snickering at the thought of the wind bowing down before his wand as he effortlessly cut his way through it.
The smile turned to a frown when the wind in his thoughts immediately turned into the dark robes of the Death Eaters that wandered the school, torturing muggleborns and half-bloods. He may have been a pure-blood, but Ernie was nothing if not loyal to his friends, Justin and Hannah being the two at the top of his list, so those bigots in Slytherin could go and shove off for all he cared, for he didn't give a whit about them, no sir!
Straightening his robes, the blonde flicked at a piece of his hair, which grew longer as he aged. He had shed the extra weight he had carried as a young student, going from stout to lean and tall, the wiry muscles he had developed from all that training in the DA hidden underneath layers of clothing and his school robes. Justin had poked fun at him, saying something cheeky, and Ernie had given him a grin and laughed it off.
"Jealous then, eh Justin?"
Thinking of his friend made Ernie refocus on the task at hand, though, which was trying to locate whatever flat Hannah had purchased with whatever money, likely a good idea when You-Know-Who was prancing around the countryside and Severus-bloody-Snape was in charge of the school, trying to masquerade like everything was fine, though Ernie did admit, free of conscience, that at least the former Potions professor had reduced the punishments on the students and tried to restore at least some order.
Ah, there it is!
Flouncing up to the doorstep, Ernie banged on the door.
"Oi, Hannah, open up! I'd rather not get killed while waiting out here!"

Susan nearly jumped out of her skin when someone pounded on the door. She went to grab Hannah before she got them killed but Hannah was out of reach. She rather just stood in the way of Bella; at least a Death Eater would have to kill her first. She didn’t even try to scold Hannah because she knew it wouldn’t do her any good. She was gullible and nothing will change that.
She doubted a Death Eater would knock though. They would have busted the door down and blew out the windows. She tried to get rid of her experience with Death Eaters last week. She hadn’t told Hannah knowing it would upset her, she was the last of a powerful family of course they wanted her dead.
"Hannah, remember what I said,"

Hannah nearly leapt to the door. She wanted to see who it was. She knew who it was by the voice. It had to be Ernie, who else would pound on her door demanding to be let in.
“Shut up Susan, I didn’t ask for your option on what I do in my house,” snapped Hannah a little taken back by her own words.
“That came out wrong. Just let me do what I want to in my house,”
Hannah opened the door to see Ernie. She smiled hugging Ernie in a tight bear hug. It had been so long since they had actually seen him in person. The last time was at her mum’s funeral and she had refused to talk to anyone. She hoped he couldn’t smell the alcohol on her breath.
“Ernie! Glad you made it, welcome to the Badger Cave. It’s the Badger Cave for now but who knows if I’ll get anyone else here besides Hufflepuffs,”
Hannah released Ernie then pulled him into her flat locking the door behind him. She didn’t care if it looked odd to Bella and Susan; she was just overjoyed to see her guy best friend.
“You remember Susan right? That’s Bella she’s a fifth year,”
