Outfit: www.polyvore.com/alexis_lounger/set?id=48254149Normally Alexis spent her school breaks from Hogwarts with friends or other places, but this time she decided to head home for a few...see if there was anything new; but she knew that there wouldn't be. It was good to come back home for a few days; to get away from school and perhaps spend time with her father, whom she hardly talked to unless it was class or the Great Hall or an occasional detention she would get with him. Course, she wished there was one other person there with her; someone whom she had grown close with the past few years and sparks were starting to fly between the two of them. The one she had been thinking about and wishing she was here, was Hunter, the seventh year Slytherin whom she had known since their third year and had become great friends, but now Alexis felt as if there was something more appearing to happen; which made her smile even more. She walked into her home and looked around to see no one there at first. She put her bag down on the first chair in the sitting room and she closed her eyes and smelled the air; for she loved the smell of her home. Sure it was old but it was the place she called home away from Hogwarts, and she had lived there for seventeen years. She walked up the stairs and to her room, where it was definitely messy as it always was; with clothes strung everywhere. Her bed was not even made and she had been at Hogwarts all this time. She picked up one of her dark arts books and plopped down on her bed and thumbed through it. Yes, it was definitely good to be home for a much needed, relaxing break.

Severus very rarely came home during the school year. He preferred to be on hand if anything happened and knowing that the Dark Lord was planning on an invasion was weighting on his mind. But Severus need time to relax too. His family was getting hectic. Helen was nonexistent in his eyes for the time being. The girl seemed to not care to see him.
Zoey was growing up right before his eyes and he was aware of the fact that she had a boyfriend. Something that angered him whenever he thought about it. Severus did not believe in love at any stage. He had had enough with the hurt and heart ache. The only people he loved were his own flesh and blood.
He had left the school in the hands of the deatheaters teaching there and in the Deputy Headmistress. Though she could do little in his eyes. The woman did not trust him and Severus was not up for trying to change her mind about him. Let her think was she wished. He arrived home with no luggage. Everything he would need was here.
The house was silent just as he liked it. He shut the door behind him and then stepped into the sitting room. Severus' eyes fell on the bag on the chair and he gave a slight smile. Zoey was here. He moved to the staircase and headed up to her room. Knocking briefly on the door, Severus waited.

Alexis had been in her room just leisurely reading when she heard the door open downstairs. She knew it would be her father because no one else would just walk in unless perhaps it was Sarah or Helen. But Alexis had not seen or talked to Helen since their first meeting, so she just had the thought that her sister was not interested in getting to know family; and Sarah had not been around for awhile and Alexis wondered where she was and how she was doing. She made a mental note to try and get some time to go see here when she was back at school.
It was then when she heard the knock on her door. She rolled off her bed and onto her feet as she made her way to her door, opening it to see that it was her father. She knew not to bring up Hunter much; even though things weren't totally official yet but she knew it angered her father for him to even think of her having a boyfriend.
"Hi, I didn't think you were coming home for awhile," she replied as she opened the door to invite him inside her room.

Severus looked down at his daughter when she opened the door. "Hi, I didn't think you were coming home for awhile," He said nothing as he stepped by her and then into the room. Every time Severus looked at Zoey, he saw her mother. That was why he was so hesitant with her growing up. He did not want to see her hurt. And he did not want to see another female he loved leave him forever for another man.
Of course in reality, when Zoey did grow up and get married or even move out, she would not leaving him. But in Severus' mind, the future was bleak. He said none of this however. It would have done little or no good. Her room was as messy as ever. Severus thought to mention the need of cleaning but decided against it. He wanted to have the weekend with a happy teenaged daughter and not a angry one.
"So," He said turning to the girl now. "What would you like to do this weekend?" He preferred to spend the time in his chair surrounded by books but that was hardly ever an option when they were both home. At least there was no Wormtail to worry about. The man got under his skin rather quickly.

In Alexis' mind, she knew her father never wanted her to move out or really grow up, but in all reality; it was happening and although she had her personality of her own; the more she grew up and older, the more and more she was becoming like her father; with her own quirks stuck right in the middle. She had wished she knew more about her mother and could have gotten to know her a lot more than just seeing her face when she was an infant; but at least she had a father who was able to raise her up and teach her about her magical abilities. As she could see her father peak around her and into her room, she was hoping he would not say anything about the mess, and when he didn't, she was relieved. She would decide to clean it later.
"So," He said turning to the girl now. "What would you like to do this weekend?"
Alexis shrugged. She hadn't really thought what she wanted to do during her break away from school. When it was the weekend from classes, she often went to the lake or sat around the courtyard reading her books, but since she was home and the weather looked as if it would rain; she hadn't given much thought to what she wanted to do. "I don't know really. I am just happy to have a break from school for awhile. I could easily lounge around my room and read my dark arts books. I think I get my needing to be surrounded by books from you definitely," she replied with a smirk on her face.

"I don't know really. I am just happy to have a break from school for awhile. I could easily lounge around my room and read my dark arts books. I think I get my needing to be surrounded by books from you definitely," His daughter told him and Severus could not help the small smile on his face. Yes, it was true. She was quite a bit like him.
So she wanted to stay home then? Severus nodded. "Alright. If you change your mind, let me know, Alexis." Severus looked around once more and then started out of the room. As he was passing her, Severus looked down at the girl. "Dinner?" He asked her. If he had been living alone, Severus certainly would have been a quick meal man. Sandwiches, food out of the box and fire whiskey or elf wine.
But with a daughter came hot meals and nutrition. "Come on down." Severus told her now. "You can help me." One thing that no one realized about Snape was that he could be two completely different men. He was a cold and distant person at school or when seen out alone. But with his daughter, he was very much a decent father. Severus started downstairs now removing his cloak as he went.

Alexis was just about to get stuck in her book once again with her ipod in her ears when her father said that she could help him prepare dinner. One of the cons of being home was she definitely had her duties and chores to do. Every kids dream of...helping around the house, not! It wasn't Alexis idea of fun, but she knew that if she wanted to get along with her father and not start arguments, that she had better obey and do her part in helping out.
Making a scoff upon her face about helping, she laid her book down on her table next to her bed along with her ipod. She did not bother putting on her shoes as she followed her father moments later down the stairs. She definitely had that teenage attitude when it came to helping her father, but just did so without argument. "So, what are we making," she replied as she walked into the kitchen.

Severus pretended not to see the distasteful look on his daughters face as she moved to follow him. He knew that like any other teenager, she was not enthusiastic to do any chores. To be fair though, he did not ask her to do much. It was true that Alexis was like her father. Both preferred to sit alone and just...be. "So, what are we making," Alexis asked him and as Severus reached the ground floor he replied "I am not sure. What would you like?" He moved into the kitchen. There was plenty of food.
A wizard kitchen was like a muggle kitchen in some ways. Only older. The stove was black rot iron and had flames to cook over instead of burners. The fridge was a large sort of closet with shelves. It was magically kept cold. There was a large fixture hanging from the ceiling with candles and Severus flicked his wand to light them.
bHe moved across the room to the cold closet and opened it. There was many different items. Severus looked over selections of chicken, pork and beef. Uhhh...he really did not actually feel like cooking. "Are you sure you would not rather go out to eat, Alexis?" He probed. "Your choice where." He dreaded saying that last part. When it was her turn, Alexis more often than not chose a muggle business.

Alexis leaned up against the counter as she entered the kitchen. Like her father, she, too, was not very enthusiastic about making supper that evening. She would rather go out somewhere to eat as well. She did not spend much time with her father, of course being a typical teenager, who would spend much time with their parents. But when she got the opportunity to, she took it. This is what made her a daddy’s girl most definitely. She wanted to ask about Sarah or Helen, but would wait until perhaps they could sit down for their meal or afterwards when they were home just relaxing. Alexis had all intention to curl up with her book that evening and so she figured perhaps she would join her father in the sitting room afterwards and bring up the subject.
As her father opened the fridge door to see what there was, which was a variety of things, Alexis played around with one of the flames on the candles. She non-verbally made the flame larger and then back down to normal size with her wand. "Are you sure you would not rather go out to eat, Alexis?" He probed. "Your choice where."
She looked up at her father when he spoke. When he asked if she would rather go out to eat, she smirked a bit. True, she normally would pick a muggle place to eat, but tonight was different. She wanted to go to Diagon Alley to get a few things; like some more quills, parchment and look around, so she thought of The Leaky Cauldron. She loved the soups there.
“Can we go to the Leaky Cauldron? I actually wanted to go look around Diagon Alley anyway, and I need some new quills and parchment too. Then perhaps get some ice cream afterwards,” she suggested in hopes that her father would agree.
