Lucius stood just to the side of the ticket booth with Narcissa as their children waited to get the tickets for the rides. It was needless to state that Lucius was not having the time of his life right now. The last thing he wanted to do was be at such a muggle attraction. The rides looked dangerous, the lights were too bright and the noise too loud. So why was he even here? To save face. His presence had been missing for too long. People knew he was a deatheater. That was not so much of a secret anymore. Of course no one accused him of it directly to his face but Lucius was sure that the people who did not know were a majority.
Then there was the fact of Draco and Aphrodite The children went through a lot more than other young witches and wizards. That had not been Lucius' intention. He had not wanted them to turn to the Dark Lords side. In all reality. Lucius hated what he had become. But there was really no turning back now. Not with the Dark Lord still living.
So here he was. Lucius had never been to a carnival and had not known what to expect. He stood tall dresses in a deep forest green cloak with a crisp white dress shirt and a pair of black dress pants. He wore Dragon hide black shoes and in his hand was his serpent headed cane. Lucius' long blond hair was down around his shoulders and gleamed in the artificial light. He was still a handsome man. He stood out with his grey eyes and strong manner.
After a few moments, Lucius looked to his wife. and then at their two children. He said nothing but this was his other reason for being here. It had been too long since they had done something together. His children, though he had never been extremely close with either, were growing up and fast. Both were of age now. Lucius realized that his time for doing things like this with them was running short.

If one thing was for sure, this wasn't how Aphrodite had pictured her weekend. She would have much preferred to be in her bedroom, or in the Slytherin common room curled up with Midnight on her lap, and a book about the dark arts in her hands. Even since she and Draco had became heavily involved in the Death Eaters, Aphrodite had been reading and brushing up on her dark arts, and even practiced some of it when she had the place and time to do so. But was she doing any of that? No, instead she was stuck with the rest of her family at this muggle attraction. Aphrodite would be lying if she said she wasn't excited, because she'd honestly been looking forward to this since they announced that they were going to do it. She was mostly excited to get to spend time with Draco, as she hadn't seen a lot of her brother in the past few weeks.
She just hoped Astoria didn't show up, it wasn't the Aphrodite didn't like her, because she had no problem at all with her. She just felt out of place when she was around her and Draco. Like she didn't matter, or that she was a third unwanted wheel. That's why she went to Crispin's place that one night. Aphrodite was dressed a lot different then what she would normally be. She traded her heels in for green converse, some faded jeans with holes, and a green tee shirt that had 'Slytherin' in sliver writing across her breasts. She figured she might as well be comfortable. Her make up and hair was how it normally was. She felt so short without her heels, she was still tall mind you.
She and Draco stood in line getting their tickets, this was weird. Malfoys never stood in line, Aphrodite never remembered doing it growing up. After what seemed like forever Aphrodite walked towards her mother and father, she had always been close to her mother, her father not so much. Of course she still loved and respected the man, although she'd never admit that out loud. "So, what first?" She asked, standing in between them.

Draco stood in line with his sister. It was an odd sensation waiting with everyone else. It almost made him feel common and Draco did not like that. The line was not very long however and soon enough Draco had two thick loops of paper tickets. He handed one to Dito and then followed her over to their parents.
That was another odd thing. It was very rare the Draco and Dito did anything outside of the house with their parents. Draco stood next to his mother and looked up at his father. The man did not seem very happy to be here. But it had been his idea to come in the first place. Draco would be quite happy at home or in his common room. Then again, now that they were here, some of this stuff did seem... interesting?
"So where first?" Dito asked. Draco looked up as a long train of cars flew by over his head. He watched the train zoom off on the rollercoaster with the riders screaming. "That looks fun." Draco said before he had realized he was speaking outl oud. His eyes shot to his father a little nervously. Draco had just admitted that he was interested in something muggle in front of his father. But then that was what they were here for right?
He looked at Dito and then his mother. There were a lot of people here it seemed. The carnival was the first of its kind and magical people had traveled from outside of Hogsmeade for it. Draco did see a few few people he knew however. Some with their families and others alone or with friends.

Alexis had been to one muggle carnival in her life and it was an okay experience, so when she had heard that Hogsmeade was putting on a carnival for the wizarding world, she just rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders but figured she would check it out anyway. She would have much rather sat by the Black Lake reading one of her Dark Arts or Potions book or lounge in her room or the common room. Never-the-less, she pulled on a pair of her faded blue boot cut skinny jeans, a black and grey hoodie and her black converse high-tops.
She then had caught the train to the large field outside of Hogsmeade to see it set up like a muggle carnival; with rides, games, food; you name it, it was there. She went to stand in line for tickets, which was not particularly the thing Alexis loved to do but it did not take long and she was handed a roll of tickets when she spotted Draco and his family. She loved the Malfoys; having been the goddaughter of Luicus and Narcissa. She took up a pace to catch up with them.
"Hey Draco, Aphrodite," she replied also nodding towards Lucius and Narcissa; acknowledging their presence as well. She could tell Lucius was not very fond of being there but was trying to make the best of it, "What ride you two going on first?" She asked Draco.

Lucius watched Aphrodite and Draco received their tickets and then rejoined the elder Malfoys. His grey eyes fell on his daughter as she stepped up to his side. His favorite of the two. Of course Lucius did not disclose that bit of information to the girl. It would not do well between the teenager sibling relationship. Everyone felt that Draco was his favorite but the simple fact was Draco was too much like Lucius.
Aphrodite anyways had fallen slightly from her fathers grace. She had become weak in her habits. The substance abuse and whoreish behavior were yet more darkness on the family. It seemed that since she had returned from America, the girl was trying to improve. Though he did not comment on the change in her, Lucius did see it.
When the girl asked what they would do first, Lucius looked around. What he really wanted was a cold pint. He knew there was no chance in that happening here. He did think of The Three Broomstick and The Hog's Head...maybe later. Lucius looked around at the bright lights thinking about what would be the least 'painful'.
The rollercoaster overhead caught his attention as it did Draco's. Lucius watched as the vehicleb rumbled by and then glance at his son when Draco said it looked fun. He did not miss the glance Draco gave him. Fun? Lucius turned back to watched as the train of cars took a bank following the tracks, and tipped to the side. Though it was not the word Lucius wanted to hear from his family about any muggle creation, this was what they came here for.
"That is first I suppose." Lucius said in his low cold voice and then was about to start forward across the grass when his and Narcissa's god daughter appeared. Lucius favored the girl with a small smile and looked around briefly for Severus.

Alcyone took one last deep inhale of her fag and held her breath until she felt dizzy, and then exhaled. The smoke clouded her vision and she lost sight of her family that she'd spotted from across the carnival grounds. She dropped the fag to the ground and stubbed it out with the toe of her shoe. When she looked back up, the smoke from the fag had cleared and she could once again see her family as clear as day. Bumming a breath-mint off of one of her friends, Alcyone popped it into her mouth. She waved goodbye to her friends and started towards her family. She'd promised them that she'd meet them at the carnival.
The blonde weaved her way through the coward, giving someone a glare when they wouldn't move out of her way even after she'd politely said 'excuse me'. People had no manners, did they? As she passed by the food vendors, Alcyone was thankful she'd decided to have that fag after all. She didn't smoke often; only when she got that gripping hunger pain, the one that made you feel like you might vomit or faint. She ate, of course, here and there. Little bits. To fool people. So they wouldn't judge her. But she absolutely refused to eat anything at this carnival. She could smell the grease and it made her retch. Every time she walked by someone with something fried, she made a disgusted face.
As Alcyone neared her family, she slowed down to fix herself (though she didn't need to.) She smoothed out invisible wrinkles in her skirt, and she plucked non-existent lint from her shirt. She tucked a piece of her curled hair behind her ear. (She had naturally straight hair; sometimes simply preferred to curl it.) In all honesty, she was probably dressed more for a date or small party. Not a carnival. With rides and fried food and grease and sticky sweets. Alcyone thought nothing of it, however. She always had to make a good impression. (And it wasn't as if she'd actually go on these rides. They looked so dangerous and dirty.)
After fixing herself, Alcyone quickened her pace. It was only a few more feet before she stopped in front of her family and gave them a bright smile. "Here I am!" she announced enthusiastically. Her blue eyes moved to Alexis next, and she gave the girl a smile. "Hello, Alexis. How are you?" It would have been rude not to ask. Manners, politeness... everything that people seemed to lack at this carnival.

Aphrodite had no clue she was her fathers favorite out of her two siblings, she's always thought Draco was his favorite, and Alcyone was their mothers, and herself with all the partying and drinking was just the screw up. Learning that bit of information would brighten up her whole night, though it was very very unlikely that would happen. She looked up as she heard screams from the roller coaster that was above head. Sure it looked dangerous, but she knew it was a lot safer then what it would be if this was an actual muggle carnival, these rides were put together with magic, where as real muggle ones were put together by hand. The people on the ride seemed scared to death, but the people coming off it were smiling and laughing, so how bad could it really be? She nodded, when Lucius said that would be first. She smiled as Alexis came up to them, "Hey, how are you?" She asked. She was the only Gryffindor that Aphrodite actually liked.
She looked as her younger sister Alcyone approached them next, she nodded to her announcing she was there. That was clear she was there, and didn't need announcing in Aphrodite's opinion. "Alright...Let's get this over with, shall we?" She asked, as Aphrodite linked her arm through Draco's and started walking towards the line to get on to the ride. She stopped after a few steps and turned towards Alexis, "You should come with us." She offered with a small smile. She would be lying if she wasn't nervous, she was.... a lot. She looked over at her brother as they stood in line, "You nervous?" She asked, wondering if it was just herself.

Draco smiled at Alexis when she appeared. But he did not answer the question about the ride. The look from his father was enough to keep him from repeating his intentions. He took refuge in the fact that Alcyone had taken that moment to appear as well. Draco stepped back a little as if trying to blend in with his mother.
Draco too could smell the faint scent of smoke though he did not comment on it. His sister though no one knew she smoked but it was hard to miss when they all went to the same school.
"Alright...Let's get this over with, shall we?" Dito asked and Draco did not mind at all as she linked arms with him and led him off. He turned for a moment and then took Alcyone's thin hand for a moment to get her moving with them. He smiled at Alexis once more. It was nothing new to see the four of them together. They had after grown up under the same house. With the exception of Alexis of course but the girl had been at Malfoy Manor every chance she got.
They got into yet another line and Draco glanced at the people around them. "You nervous?" Dito asked him and Draco shrugged and then after a long moment, he grinned. "Maybe a little." He had never been on anything like this. It was definitely going to be an experience.

Alexis was all up for riding the rides, especially in good company with her friends. When Alcyone approached the group, Alexis smiled and nodded in her direction, "I am good. How are you?" She did not want to seem rude back and just completely ignore her. The Malfoys were definitely a family she got along with really well and she wanted to keep it that way.
It wasn't moments later when Aphrodite was speaking towards Alexis.
"Hey, how are you?" She asked. She was the only Gryffindor that Aphrodite actually liked.
"Hey, I am good. How about you," she replied. She had many Slytherin and Gryffindor friends, but mainly Slytherin. Alexis couldn't help herself to be in Gryffindor but act very much like Slytherins do. She figured it was just in her nature to act and be that way.
They were all getting ready to set forth on a ride and Alexis did not feel any ounce of nervousness at all. Well, perhaps a bit but not much and she did not show it. "Alright, let's go get on this ride and have some fun, shall we!"
