Many people visit carnivals when they come to town. Full of fun, thrills, puke and calorie filled snacks it is a child's christmas which comes around a few times each year, that is if the place draws a crowd and is worth the carnival promoter's time.
Slowly as people grow up they get rid of the idea of fun and it is soon replaced with responsibility, a need to fend for yourself and your family which will eventually come to appear due to the pressures of everyday life. The circle of life continues thanks you and your partner's wish to have children, well done for giving someone else a lifetime of misery.
Wizards weren't that different to Muggles and the life for which they shared wasn't much different but the idea of a carnival seemed almost too Muggle-like with flashing lights and moving gizmos something so indiscrete that it should be run out of Hogsmeade like Frankenstein out of Mary Shelley's infamous tale.

David walked into the clearing of Hogsmeade and slowly endeavored to move through the quiet village to the babylon which had been constructed seemingly overnight. It was night-time probably almost eleven in the evening, most students had left earlier in the evening so as to get as much fun in as possible.
Finally he had escaped the dreary and boarded up paradise of Hogsmeade, resulting in him standing in front of the carnival with it's illuminating features drawing him in like a moth to the flame.
David walked into the carnival, apparently entry was free, and begun moving around looking for familiar faces. Sadly all the lights made people seem almost faceless giving them almost a ghostly appearance. He then turned on his heels to see a clown right in front of his face.
"Sorry about that mate, i didn't think you would stop."
The clown walked past David and continued walking on his way, with a strong limp it must be said, leaving David almost questioning the rest of his sanity.
"What a nutter...."
