Darcy was concentrating hard on him when she noticed him physically pull back to reality, a grin on his face. "I know that look anywhere." She leaned into him and wrapped her hands around his right arm comforting him. "You had a memory about her." She stated, already knowing what he had dazed off about. Darcy found herself doing that with her own mother. It was often when eating ice cream or taking a walk like they used to do at home.
“She was at that, an amazing woman... I have all of these great memories of her.”
Her smile widened a bit, appropriately. "And I want to hear all of them." She added, raising her eyebrow at him, suggesting her interest. "Plus, you still have to show me her amazing sketches." She chimed in happily, her eyes lighting up. She would love learning more about his past. Whether it be by story or by sketches that he kept- it would just be perfect.
He grinned, “Good, I wouldn’t want her to worry that I had kidnapped you.” Mathius laughed when she asked if she was his. “Absolutely, you are mine for forever and a day.” He replied, quoting her from their last date.
Her chest thumped wildly at his tone, serious but funny when he laughed. Her eyes fluttered and her cheeks flushed a rosy red. "She wouldn't come looking for me. I talked her head off enough about it before I came over that she'd understand." Darcy confessed with a sheepish smile and a conservative shrug of her shoulder. Leaning back from her position on Mathius' arm, she kissed at his cheek and smiled against his skin, lingering her breath on his neck as she closed her eyes and laid against him. "I'm so glad I have a place to stay tonight. Truthfully, Bay never comes home on time and I get anxious if I am alone for too long. I'm like a puppy who is dependent on their owner." She chuckled and nuzzled against him ironically, burying herself into his scent. She would have to steal one of his jackets sometime so she could smell him wherever she went. "I won't be getting that way tonight."
“That sounds like a... like a great idea!!!” he said, stumbling over his words in his excitement. He smiled at the thought of a messy, paint covered Darcy, “Don’t you worry, I most definitely WILL be teaching you a few things, but only if you teach me how to properly finger paint. I’m used to the classic paint brush.” At her poke Mathius twitched a little before grinning again, “You have yet to find where I actually am ticklish."
Darcy's head bobbled with excitement as he lightened up. She had made a great suggestion then. "I'm glad you think so! I haven't gotten my hands dirty in a while." She blushed at the double meaning behind that and shook her head, a grin on her lips. "I can't wait to learn! And, of course, I'll teach you my skills at finger painting, but the master won't tell you all her secrets." She winked, a playful challenge in the air. He mentioned her not finding his ticklish spot, and she arched both her eyebrows, a smirk dancing across her features. "Challenge accepted!" She teased.
Making sure his plate and drink were at a safe distance, Darcy almost launched into his lap, straddling his legs as best she could in her skirt, her free hands roamed to the back of his neck. She grazed her fingers lightly under his hair, slipping just below the collar of his shirt and tickling. She would be finding his ticklish spot if it was the last thing she did. Her right hand slipped back up to his jaw, turning her hand upside down and scratching underneath his chin lightly, like you would a kitten or puppy, judging his reaction. If he still hadn't started to show any serious signs, she would have to get serious.

"I know that look anywhere. You had a memory about her."
Mathius smiled, shrugging slightly, “Yes... I did, I was remembering her in the kitchen.” He replied, brightening up once more.
"And I want to hear all of them. Plus, you still have to show me her amazing sketches."
Nodding, Mathius smiled even wider, “Of course, we can sit by the fire and I can tell you all of them, all of the good memories anyways. And I can bring out her box of sketches, its full to the brim with all sorts of pictures!”
In his bedroom, underneath his bed, lay a box the size of two shoeboxes. Inside of the box lay sketch after sketch of everything from Mathius himself to flowers.
Mathius found himself grinning at the thought, turning his eyes to Darcy’s.
"She wouldn't come looking for me. I talked her head off enough about it before I came over that she'd understand."
Mathius laughed, “Oh really? What if you disappeared for say... a week? Would she come looking for you then?” he asked suggestively with a wink and a grin. “I wouldn’t want Bay coming after me, she seems like the type of person who can get quite violent to protect her friends, or something...” he trailed off, gasping with a laugh.
"I'm so glad I have a place to stay tonight. Truthfully, Bay never comes home on time and I get anxious if I am alone for too long. I'm like a puppy who is dependent on their owner."
When Darcy kissed his cheek Mathius blushed slightly, “I should shave... I can’t say that my stubbly cheek can be very nice to kiss.” He said with a sheepish look on his face, running a finger along his rough cheek before moving his hand to her smooth cheek. “I’m glad you’re staying here tonight, I’m not the best company for myself. I can’t paint for every hour that I’m home on my own.” He chuckled softly, “I like puppies, so don’t you be worrying about that! You can be as close as you want to me, I won’t leave you.”
"I'm glad you think so! I haven't gotten my hands dirty in a while. I can't wait to learn! And, of course, I'll teach you my skills at finger painting, but the master won't tell you all her secrets."
Mathius stroked his right hand down her cheek and neck till he reached her shoulder, squeezing gently, “I’ll figure out your secrets, in time.” He whispered, “You’ll have to tell me.” He said, poking her in the side once again, but lightly.
"Challenge accepted!"
Mathius was worried then, more so when she launched into his lap. Any other time he would have smiled and hugged her to him, but just then she was there to torture him. Then, she found it, almost immediately in fact! How had she done that?
Her fingers on the back of his neck, feathering his neck hair slightly, made him choke on air for a moment. “Stoooop.” He gasped, head arching back as if to squeeze her fingers away from his neck. His body was shaking with a gasping laughter, quiet due to the inability to breath. In a last ditch attempt to stop her, he reached out and tickled her sides, hoping to end the hilarious torture.

Mathius smiled even wider, “Of course, we can sit by the fire and I can tell you all of them, all of the good memories anyways. And I can bring out her box of sketches, its full to the brim with all sorts of pictures!”
She was glad that she would be able to share the memories with him. "Would you like to go get them now? Or can I have you all to myself for a few minutes?" She winked, her eyes falling into his.
Darcy's breath caught in her throat and she flushed again, her cheeks heating up. "If I disappeared for a week with you, I would be extremely happy." She giggled at him, sending him a wink herself. "Oh? I'd protect you from her." She scrunched her nose up and grinned. "My Mathius, remember?" She smirked.
“I should shave...
"I think its cute, just like the rest of you." She admitted, rolling her shoulders back somewhat. "And it won't stop me from kissing you, I promise you." Her eyebrows lifted and seemed to wiggle at him, her playful nature shining through. "But at least you find something to do. I eat and paint my nails, then tell Mouse about my day." She grinned softly, shaking her head. "I bet even Mouse gets tired of me." When Mathius said he wouldn't leave her, her knees went weak even though she was sitting down, and she leaned into a soft peck on his lips. "Oh, as close as I want, eh?" She winked, her eyes lighting up under her blonde bangs that seemed to fall into her eyes. "I like the sound of that." She chirped, a grin playing on her lips.
“I’ll figure out your secrets, in time.” He whispered, “You’ll have to tell me.” He said, poking her in the side once again, but lightly.
"That'll require a lot of quality time with me." She raised her brow and her hand, as if questioning him. "Are you up for that challenge, mister Mathius?" She giggled softly afterwards and kissed his nose.
Jackpot.
Darcy's eyes widened as Mathius scrunched his neck back. She smirked, her hands retracting from his neck, up in a defensive manor, as if she was signaling a truce. But his own hands were at her sides. She squealed loudly and squirmed, falling forwards into his chest and losing all control of her hands now. Her eyes clamped shut and she began snorting. Oh no, not the snorting.
"Hey!" She laughed heartily, her eyes bright blue and sparkling with excitement. "I won. I found it. What do I get for it?" She choked out inbetween hard laughs, still squirming a bit even as he stopped tickling her for a moment.

"Would you like to go get them now? Or can I have you all to myself for a few minutes?"
Mathius grinned, “We can wait until tomorrow if that is alright with you?” he asked, still smiling. “A few hours will suffice, don’t you think???”
"If I disappeared for a week with you, I would be extremely happy. Oh? I'd protect you from her. My Mathius, remember?"
Nodding solemnly, Mathius replied, “I would be extremely happy too,” he added, “and I hope that you would protect me, I wouldn’t want you to have to miss me, that wouldn’t be good at all.” Being the smiley sort of guy he was, Mathius couldn’t keep a straight face for long unless there was reason for it, and within moments of his words the solemn face cracked to reveal a once again happy, grinning face.
"I think its cute, just like the rest of you. And it won't stop me from kissing you, I promise you. But at least you find something to do. I eat and paint my nails, then tell Mouse about my day. I bet even Mouse gets tired of me. Oh, as close as I want, eh? I like the sound of that."
Mathius blushed once again, feeling his cheek and smiling at Darcy’s comments. “I don’t think that I can get tired of you missy.” He said with a smile, looking tenderly down at her glowing face and golden hair.
“You,” he said, “are a beautiful woman, and I meant it when I said you could get as close as you want. Sometimes a bit of cuddling is good for a man.”
Mathius brushed his own dark, slightly wavy hair from his eyes, thinking that he needed a hair cut but that there was no way it was going to happen if Darcy liked his hair, which she seemed to.
"That'll require a lot of quality time with me. Are you up for that challenge, mister Mathius?"
Breathing a fake sigh of resignation he shrugged, “I guess I’ll just have to keep my eye on you at all times then Sunshine.” He didn’t know where the nickname came from, but with her golden hair and smile there was nothing else that he could say to her, she was as bright and more beautiful than the sun in his blue eyes. Then, when he tickled her and her snort came out and she collapsed on his chest, Mathius laughed. She was amazing! How in the world had he found somebody like her?
He was going to keep her for sure.
"Hey! I won. I found it. What do I get for it?"
Mathius wiggled his eyebrows rather curiously, “A place to sleep for the night.” He grinned, patting his chest with a chuckle. He stopped tickling her completely so that there could be a truce. Now, he swung her legs around so that he sat sideways on his lap and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “I hope that isn’t too much.”

Nodding solemnly, Mathius replied, “I would be extremely happy too,” he added, “and I hope that you would protect me, I wouldn’t want you to have to miss me, that wouldn’t be good at all.”
Darcy snorted a bit, her eyes playful though. "I do it anyways. When you aren't with me, I miss you." She shrugged, an innocent gleam in her eyes now.
She was literally a lost puppy, or a puppy in general. She got attached too easily and was playful for way too long. Her eyes were glistening constantly, and when she was wore out, she loved napping close to someone warm and nuzzling into them. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she imagined herself snuggling with Mathius every night for the rest of her life.
Mathius blushed once again, feeling his cheek and smiling. “I don’t think that I can get tired of you missy.” He said with a smile, looking tenderly down at her. “You,” he said, “are a beautiful woman, and I meant it when I said you could get as close as you want. Sometimes a bit of cuddling is good for a man.”
Her chest stopped altogether. Breathe. In and out, Darcy. He knows that he does it to you. Stay calm. Her eyes widened about twice their size, her jaw dropped, and the corners of her lips twitched into a huge smile, her pearly whites exposed completely. Darcy's face became a deep pink, her eyelashes fluttered, and she shook her head. "You're too good for me, Mathius." She said simply, an awestruck look on her face. "I will take you up on that offer- and sometimes?" She pouted unhappily. "I want to cuddle you all the time!" She beamed happily, her smile coming back just as strong.
Breathing a fake sigh of resignation he shrugged, “I guess I’ll just have to keep my eye on you at all times then Sunshine.”
Darcy blushed again. "Sunshine? I like that." She whispered, her eyes seemingly searching his briefly. The young woman showed no signs of detesting that he'd have to keep his beautiful eyes on her at all times. Heck- she would keep her eyes on him too. She tore her vision away to look for his hands, taking them into her own after she calmed down from his tickles. She brought them to her face, brushing her lips and her nose along his knuckles, planting airy kisses along his skin.
Mathius wiggled his eyebrows rather curiously, “A place to sleep for the night.” He grinned, patting his chest with a chuckle. Now, he swung her legs around so that he sat sideways on his lap and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “I hope that isn’t too much.”
As Darcy was shifted in his lap, she nuzzled in close to his body and wrapped her arms around his torso, leaning up under his jaw to burrow into his embrace. She felt so comfortable, so... at home. She could get used to long nights playing with his hair, watching him paint, and helping him cook dinner. That was just the life she would enjoy sharing with someone- who knows- maybe fate would reward them with each other. "I couldn't have asked for more." Her voice was low but soft, her eyes closing as she adjusted to his heartbeat in her head. "I still love this song." She giggled lightly, her right hand rubbing up and down his back slowly, every once in a while running through his hair somewhat.

"I do it anyways. When you aren't with me, I miss you."
Mathius melted. Right then and there. “When you aren’t with me, I miss you.”
He remembered leaving work after first meeting Darcy, how he had been so utterly excited to see her again. Maybe they could even work together every day, then that might make up for any time they weren’t seeing each other. “I will be talking to Jensen about work shifts. Maybe I can, you know, push for a new work colleague.” He said suddenly, voicing his thoughts aloud with a smile.
"You're too good for me, Mathius."
Darcy’s face morphed into something so adorable and happy that Mathius wanted her to be like that all the time, minus the blushing as blushing was generally a tad uncomfortable. “Hell no I’m not.” He replied, kissing her lips back and leaving it at that.
"I will take you up on that offer- and sometimes? I want to cuddle you all the time!"
Mathius grinned, happy that she was just as... needy as he was. “And I will take you up on that offer!” Making true to his word, he wrapped long arms around Darcy in something that could be called the world’s most adorable cuddle. Anyone looking in the window would probably snap a picture just to keep the memory of Mathius and Darcy’s love. Mathius’s face held a certain needy, tender possessiveness to it.
"Sunshine? I like that."
“Good. Now we just need for you to come up with a nickname for me. Sunshine.” Mathius said, pulling back and grinning. His eyes found her searching ones and stopped, caught as if in a still moment in time.
Then, she was moving, kissing his knuckles again in a way that made Mathius love her even more, and her head was moving to his chest, her voice making its way into his ears.
"I couldn't have asked for more. I still love this song."
“Actually I’m fairly sure you could have asked for much more, but the fact that you didn’t makes me love you more.” After a moment Mathius realized that he had said the L-word, and his heart soared to unimaginable heights. He couldn’t remember a time in his life that he had been this happy since his mother died. In fact, only a few memories with his mother could beat this.

Mathius melted. Right then and there. “When you aren’t with me, I miss you. I will be talking to Jensen about work shifts. Maybe I can, you know, push for a new work colleague.” He said suddenly, voicing his thoughts aloud with a smile.
Darcy couldn't help but gasp a bit. "Mathius-" her heart pounded loudly against her chest that she thought he might have heard it. She blushed again, not as much, but still noticeable. "You sure you want me around all the time?" She teased, kissing his nose gently, then his upper lip, playing at the fact that she was, indeed, teasing him.
“Hell no I’m not.” He replied, kissing her lips. Darcy's own lips finally gave in and pressed against his deeply, giggling against his lips once they finished, because of the stubble on his chin. Her eyes lit up and she looked into his eyes, drowning herself and not caring to ask for help.
"Oh hell yes, you are, my dear." She cooed gently, her hands reaching up to stroke his chin lightly, grinning at the roughness of his stubble. It just made him look mysterious, like a painter, who had been too intrigued in finishing a masterpiece than shaving for a few days. She laughed to herself, the places where her mind went, and leaned back, wrapping her arms around his neck for a moment. "Trust me." She said, an alluring tone in her voice, fighting for his trust because, well, she knew herself that she was right.
“And I will take you up on that offer!” Making true to his word, he wrapped long arms around Darcy in something that could be called the world’s most adorable cuddle.
Darcy's voice turned into a squeal, and followed shortly after that were giggles of all dialects. She snorted lightly in the midst of her laughter and covered her mouth tightly with one hand, the other still wrapped around him. "Oh, Mathius." she sighed, in sort of a sing-song tone, after calming down, her hand that was covering her mouth moved to graze his cheekbone and jaw line, feeling his stubble again. She couldn't help it, she was intrigued by facial hair. "Its so neat, and it tickles!" She admired his features for another minute before laughing lightly at herself. Yes, she was strange.
“Good. Now we just need for you to come up with a nickname for me. Sunshine.” Mathius said, pulling back and grinning. His eyes found her searching ones.
When he pulled back and made eye contact, she stuck her tongue out at him and leaned in to lick his cheek, yet again laughing at his stubble. It seemed she couldn't not-laugh or not-blush around him. But she loved every moment with him. "Hm." She tapped his chin, not hers, in thought. "How about....no." She shook her head. "Not good enough." She winked to him and cocked her head to the side, taking in his features at that moment. "What about you being my Teddybear?" She quizzed, her fingers making their way down to his shoulder, massaging lightly against his skin. "I mean, you're warm and fluffy," her eyes went for his stubble then back to his eyes, "and I like to hug and cuddle you. Like a little bear." Her smile widened at the nickname. "My bear. My Mathius Bear." She beamed and nodded. "Do you like it?"
“Actually I’m fairly sure you could have asked for much more, but the fact that you didn’t makes me love you more.”
Her heart pounded relentlessly on her ribs and she was sure to Merlin that he could hear it echoing in her fingertips and her head. She took a deep breath and shook her head with a huge grin. "I am fairly sure that I couldn't have. You are all that I am looking for- I found a piece of myself that I was missing in you, and I am settling down and coming to terms that you are going to be a part of my life, whether you know it or not. Well, you know it now, of course." She laughed, stuttering over her words helplessly. "And that is what makes me love you the most. Period." She searched his eyes for acceptance, found it, and leaned up to him with a long kiss, cupping his cheek with her left hand, sighing heavily when she found herself in need of a big breath. She pulled back from him and rested her forehead on his.
Everything around her broke to pieces and crumbled- it was just the two of them, in his apartment, cuddled close and comfortable into each other. She was content with feeling this way every second of the rest of her life.

"Mathius- You sure you want me around all the time?"
Kissing Darcy’s chin as she kissed his nose and upper lip, Mathius responded in the affirmative, “Of course, why wouldn’t I?” he sounded almost incredulous that she’d ask such a thing, how could he not want to be around her all the time? And this time, if she said she didn’t deserve him or something along those lines he might just have to tickle her some more.
"Oh hell yes, you are, my dear. Trust me."
Mathius pursed his lips, ready to object, but he saw the determination in Darcy’s eyes and decided that you know what, he was not going up against her in a fight as to how amazing he was, not when she was for him and he against. He could feel her soft hand against his rough cheek and he laughed lightly, “I do trust you, for now at least.” The last part was said in a joking tone, most definitely not meant. Mathius felt like he would always be able to trust Darcy. Always. Hopefully, she felt the same.
”Oh, Mathius. Its so neat, and it tickles.”
Snorting himself in laughed, Mathius grinned, “Maybe I won’t shave. This attention is just too perfect for me to let go.” He put his hand over top of hers where it rested on his chin. “If only you had something I could be so fascinated with,” he said before continuing, “Oh wait, you do!” His free hand reached up and brushed through her hair as he gazed into her eyes, “Everything.”
"What about you being my Teddybear? I mean, you're warm and fluffy, and I like to hug and cuddle you. Like a little bear. My bear. My Mathius Bear. Do you like it?"
There was a moment of silence, then a grin, and then a hug. “I love it, even if I find it to be rather too adorable for me, Sunshine!! My Darcy Sunshine.” He frowned suddenly, “That doesn’t work, you’ll have to be both, but never at the same time. You are My Darcy and you are My Sunshine.”
"I am fairly sure that I couldn't have. You are all that I am looking for- I found a piece of myself that I was missing in you, and I am settling down and coming to terms that you are going to be a part of my life, whether you know it or not. Well, you know it now, of course. And that is what makes me love you the most. Period."
“I could list off everything that you could have asked for, but I won’t, because your voice is too pretty to contradict right now. Maybe later.” Mathius smiled, but before he could say anything else his mouth found hers and they kissed. His experience went something along the lines of being hit by lightning, while being drunk, with a protective shield so no pain is felt. So it was understandable that when he pulled back he had to gasp to breath, eyes wide with happiness.
“I never want to leave you.” He said out loud, realizing then just how deeply he had fallen for the girl on his lap. He realized just how much he loved her, and everything about her. He would give up anything for her.

Kissing Darcy’s chin as she kissed his nose and upper lip, Mathius responded in the affirmative, “Of course, why wouldn’t I?” he sounded almost incredulous that she’d ask such a thing.
Snickering at the kisses on her chin, she scrunched her nose up in response. "Oh, I don't know." She ran her finger down to his chest, teasing him again. "I'm not used to this attention, I guess." She giggled, leaning in close to his ear, kissing his earlobe lightly before whispering, "But to tell you the truth, I like it. And I would gladly enjoy you spending a lot of time with me." She smiled and kissed his ear again, then down to his shoulder.
“I do trust you, for now at least.”
Darcy raised her eyebrows playfully and winked. "I guess I can't screw that up, now can I?" She giggled under her breath and smiled wide for him.
Darcy bit her lip tightly and stifled a girly scream and squeal. "Shhhh!" She pushed her hand to his mouth and smushed her hand on his lips, giggling still at the feeling. "I will give you all the attention in the world if you shave or don't shave. You're still my bear." She nodded, adding, "But you have to stop being so sweet like that. My poor little heart can't take it." Her hand that covered his mouth moved down to her own chest, gripping at her chest where her heart would be. She put on a puppy-face but not for long, a huge grin returning.
“I love it, even if I find it to be rather too adorable for me, Sunshine!! My Darcy Sunshine.” He frowned suddenly, “That doesn’t work, you’ll have to be both, but never at the same time. You are My Darcy and you are My Sunshine.”
She couldn't find the right words to reply, so she just kissed him, again. She never got tired of the feeling. Her hand found its way to his chest, roaming up tenderly to his neck, wrapping her fingers into his hair and rubbing his scalp carefully, almost massaging. She always loved it when people did that to her- it made her super sleepy. "Anything works," she started suddenly with a gasp, catching her breath, "as long as I am yours." She nodded, confirming her statement.
“I could list off everything that you could have asked for, but I won’t, because your voice is too pretty to contradict right now. Maybe later.” Mathius smiled, but before he could say anything else his mouth found hers and they kissed. “I never want to leave you.” He said
Darcy lost herself in the moment, unable to think straight or come up with any creative comebacks for him. She let him win, and returned his kisses with a passion. Once they broke apart, her forehead pressed against his as she found herself clinging to him for dear life. Looking into his eyes, she smiled happily. "Why thank you, you are too handsome to argue with," she paused, "plus I can just tell that you would tickle me into shutting up anyways." She winked playfully and leaned up to kiss his forehead, scratching his back smoothly with her fingers.
When he said that he never wanted to leave her, she giggled nervously. In all honesty, she wasn't nervous at all. She was just... excited and awestruck, and she was afraid she'd do something to embarrass herself, like a puppy. "I'm so glad you said that- because I am not leaving. At least I kind of sort of have your permission?" She shrugged unsure, a teasing grin on her lips.

"Oh, I don't know. I'm not used to this attention, I guess. But to tell you the truth, I like it. And I would gladly enjoy you spending a lot of time with me."
Mathius adopted a vaguely shocked, but teasing face, “Not used to attention? I would have thought the boys would all be chasing after you with their tails between their legs begging for your attention.” He laughed then, thinking that he can’t have been the only one to have sought her affections, although he liked the idea that he might have been the first to be accepted.
"I guess I can't screw that up, now can I?"
Biting his lip in apparent thought, Mathius shrugged, “Hmm, I guess not! So you’re safe Sunshine.” He grinned then.
"Shhhh! I will give you all the attention in the world if you shave or don't shave. You're still my bear. But you have to stop being so sweet like that. My poor little heart can't take it."
The feeling of being unable to speak due to a hand on his lips made Mathius want to laugh, but he felt unable to do even that. However, a light gasp of glee managed to sneak its way past the defenses of Darcy’s hand and into the air. Soon, he was allowed to speak again, and he did, “I don’t really like to shave, so I’ll stick right where I am right now.” He wiggled his lips from side to side as if showing off a beard, laughing at the expression that was now on Darcy’s face.
Her hand to her heart reminded him of her head against his heart and he smiled happily, eyes glittering with the happiness that threatened to spill out of them. “I’ll try, but it isn’t like I think about what to say. It all just spews out, sounding not how I wanted it to, but how my head or heart thought it should sound. Thus the sometimes strange way I say things...”
"Anything works, as long as I am yours."
Her hands on his scalp, massaging, felt amazing and he relaxed back into the couch with a smile on his now relaxed face, “I like that, I really do.’
"Why thank you, you are too handsome to argue with, plus I can just tell that you would tickle me into shutting up anyways."
A rather Grinch like grin found its way onto Mathius’s face at that and he laughed throatily, “I would at that... You would be so tickled out that you would have to agree to everything I said! It would be good for me, not so much for you...” A regular grin took the place of the Grinch one and Mathius laughed, normally again, “I’d probably feel bad though...”
"I'm so glad you said that- because I am not leaving. At least I kind of sort of have your permission?"
“You have permission from every atom of my body Darcy! In fact, you don’t ever have to even ask. Ever again.” His arms were still wrapped around her body and Mathius squeezed lovingly, “Even the grumpy parts of me are saying that you may stay whenever you want, heart included.”

“Not used to attention? I would have thought the boys would all be chasing after you with their tails between their legs begging for your attention.” He laughed then.
Darcy furrowed her brow, innocently almost, shaking her head. "Boys have cooties, don't you remember? If they chased me, I would always run away." She giggled then, letting her serious face fade dramatically. "Well, seriously though, they don't. I mean, they flirt, but I don't give them any attention. For them, it is always about looks and what they can get out of me." She frowned slightly, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I don't like to think of myself as a prize. And I know that you aren't that type." With that said, she smiled at him, nodding. She hadn't ever talked about her love life, really. Coming to realizations, she knew that Mathius was probably the only one she ever, well, approached first. At the bookstore, she just lost all consciousness and chased after him like a lost puppy.
“I don’t really like to shave, so I’ll stick right where I am right now.” He wiggled his lips from side to side as if showing off a beard, laughing at the expression that was now on Darcy’s face. “I’ll try, but it isn’t like I think about what to say. It all just spews out, sounding not how I wanted it to, but how my head or heart thought it should sound. Thus the sometimes strange way I say things...”
She grinned happily, kissing his nose again. "The stubble is definitely cute. You should keep it." She winked playfully, tickling under his jaw, her eyes locked on his sparkling ones. He was so handsome. Not only handsome, but adorable. His words, his smile, his voice. The way he held her, the way he kissed her or brushed through her hair. She was absolutely falling for him, if she hadn't before. Deeper this time. "Don't worry. I really love the things you say. It's romantic, and it comes from the heart and that is better than thought over words." She bat her eyelashes at him, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on his lips.
“I like that, I really do."
With that noted, she closed her eyes momentarily and continued to massage into his scalp.
“I would at that... You would be so tickled out that you would have to agree to everything I said! It would be good for me, not so much for you...” A regular grin took the place of the Grinch one and Mathius laughed, normally again, “I’d probably feel bad though...”
She pouted as he talked, shaking her head. "That wouldn't be fair. And once I was free, you'd be asking for me to finish you off." She grinned, leaning into him for a moment, her hands wrapping around his neck, lightly grazing his neck. She knew he would be tickled, so she prepared for a struggle. "I know you'd feel bad. I would feel bad." She laughed lightly and stopped tickling him.
“You have permission from every atom of my body Darcy! In fact, you don’t ever have to even ask. Ever again.” His arms were still wrapped around her body and Mathius squeezed lovingly, “Even the grumpy parts of me are saying that you may stay whenever you want, heart included.”
Once his hands squeezed around her, a giggle escaped as if she was a squeaky toy. Closing her eyes, she burrowed under his chin happily, leaning against his chest. "Wait, before I get too comfy and possibly fall asleep, do you want to get comfy? There's a whole couch here and I feel like I am squishing you." She laughed lightly, puling off his lap for a moment so he could stretch out. Once he was good, she hopped back on to him, curling up on his chest, practically laying on top of him.
"Talk to me. About anything. I like to hear the rumbling in your chest when you speak." She sighed against him, looking up to kiss his chin, then curling back up on his chest.

"Boys have cooties, don't you remember? If they chased me, I would always run away. Well, seriously though, they don't. I mean, they flirt, but I don't give them any attention. For them, it is always about looks and what they can get out of me. I don't like to think of myself as a prize. And I know that you aren't that type."
Laughing now, Mathius grinned, “Well, that’s a relief. It is good to know that you aren’t like most girls. And I most certainly don’t think of you as a prize, if I was going to show you off, I would do so because of your sweet nature and smile and laugh.” When Darcy had tucked her hair back, she had missed a piece and Mathius tenderly tucked it back for her, smiling as he did so. “You are a prize, but not something that I’d polish, shine, and gloat about. You’re my prize, and the type of prize that I want to keep close to me at all times.
"The stubble is definitely cute. You should keep it. Don't worry. I really love the things you say. It's romantic, and it comes from the heart and that is better than thought over words."
“Good,” Mathius replied, “I will then. If not for myself, then most definitely for you.” As he was tickled yet again he laughed, almost hysterically for just a moment before Darcy stopped and he was able to breath and talk normally. “Thank you!” Mathius exclaimed, grinning down at the love of his life, “Finally, somebody who actually likes everything I do, who doesn’t think that my random blurts of corny words are stupid or strange.”
"That wouldn't be fair. And once I was free, you'd be asking for me to finish you off. I know you'd feel bad. I would feel bad."
Mathius smiled, “It wouldn’t be fair, would it?” He laughed lightly, deciding against the sudden impulse to tickle her to the floor and kissing her instead.
"Wait, before I get too comfy and possibly fall asleep, do you want to get comfy? There's a whole couch here and I feel like I am squishing you."
“I don’t feel squished! Not at all you feather of a woman. But yes, I’d love to get comfy.” Feeling almost empty when Darcy got off of him, Mathius lay down as she wanted, feeling her curl up on his chest.
"Talk to me. About anything. I like to hear the rumbling in your chest when you speak."
“Anything at all? Alright, how about I tell you stories of my childhood...” Mathius continued to speak until eventually he fell asleep with Darcy on his chest. The artist hadn’t gone to sleep so happy in a very long time, and it was perfect.
