There was a Death Eater meeting and her father as usual did not want her to attend. She did not understand his logic. It was not as if she did not know what was happening in there. She knew what her father was. It was not that she wanted to follow in his footsteps but she was not a child and hated being treated like one. So she could not go to the meeting but she did not want to sit at home either. So she had agreed to come along to Malfoy Manor and just hang around. Jewels sat in the library across from the dinning room where the meeting was being held. The doors to the dinning room were closed and she could not hear anything. She sat cross legged in a large and thick chair and stared down at the book in her lap. She was dressed to be comfortable and her hair was pulled up onto the back of her head with a hair clip. She still had a few faint visible bruises from the battle in Hogemead nearly a month ago. Jewels had not told Ellie or her father about the incident. She had been frightened and hurt of course but it was nothing compared to how badly her father scared her when he was angry...well it was worse but still... Jewles sighed as she flipped a page in the book. She heard the door to the dinning room open but did not look up. It was too early for the meeting to be over already. His father had dismissed Cole from the meeting early with some mission to find his beloved snake, Nigini. She had slithered out after the first hour of the meeting. He didn't know if it was true or not and honestly, Cole didn't care. He had heard it all before when his father had told Cole about this meeting. He didn't want to seem rude to his father but he wasn't a fan of hearing stuff twice.
A pain shot from Cole's side. He had a large bruise from a boxing match he had lost with a Death eater a few weeks ago. He hadn't been fully focused on his match in truth. His mind had been on the girls from Hogmead. The older ones fear-filled eyes still rang in his mind. Guilt was gnawing at him but he was trying to push it away. Guilt was a weakness and he couldn't afford a single weakness now. Just push it down and don't think about it. He told himself. That's exactly what he did. Push it down.
As like most well laid plans, Cole's plan to ignore his guilt free plan went from sugar to shit as soon as he entered the library. That girl from Hogsmead was sitting there, as pretty as you please, nose in a book. Fuckkkkkkk He groaned to himself. He swallowed hard and inhaled. " Have you seen my fathers snake slither by here? " He asked her. He didn't look at her, keeping his dark eyes above her head and on a bookshelf behind her chair.

" Have you seen my fathers snake slither by here? " Jewles heard. She looked up slowly from the book and her eye widened slightly when they fell on the male. What the hell was this? In this whole manor she had to run into him again?? She opened her mouth to make a snappy and maybe a bit comment but then thought better of it.
"Do I look like I've seen a snake?" She asked now in a soft tone. She doubted that he would try anything here. Not with her father in the next room. Jewles did not feel safe however in the room with him and she ran the fingers of one hand over the fading bruises on her throat that he had made.
Jewles closed the book gently and then stood and replaced it on the shelf. She turned towards Cole now and then paused before angling towards the door. She had to pass him to get there and made a large arch around him as she passed.
He frightened her. There was no question about that. It was obvious by the way her skin paled and she shook slightly as she moved by him. She tried to hide it before but of course, Jewles was not very good at that.
Jewels stepped into the hallway and then turned left and headed towards the kitchen. The Malfoy house elves hurried to assist her and Jewles asked for milk as she leaned against the counter. Let Cole have the library to himself.

The girls tone bit into him. He deserved it in the long run. He had inflected the wounds on her skin. The fear in his eyes? That was because of him. He had to hand it to her, she was trying not to let him see it but again, she carried it fully front in her eyes. Those were her down fall. He stepped aside and let her pass. He sighed and went into the library to find the serpent. He didn't even know where to begin.
After a couple of minutes of hissing around the library and zero luck, Cole decided to move to another room. She was probably cold so somewhere warm. He sighed. His search was on pause fr a moment. He needed a drink. Cole pushed himself up and walked out of the room. He laced his fingers together behind his back and sighed. Maybe the Malfoy's had some vodka around here.
He entered the kitchen. An elf jumped in front of him to take his request. He just wanted a shot glass and whatever was the strongest alcohol around here. They nodded and scurried away. Cole took a seat at the small table and sighed. He had spotted her, , but better judgement had voted him against it. He just gave her a quick nod then went back to staring at his hands and trying to figure out were Nagini had slithered off to.

Jewels stood there against the counter. It was clear that she was frustrating the elves because they kept asking her if she wanted anything else but she continued to shake her head. When he entered the kitchen, Jewels glanced at him quickly and then looked down. She had finished her milk and a passing by elf took the glass from her with a bow.
When Cole asked for a shot glass and a bottle of alcohol, Jewles nodded. "I could go for that myself." She told the elves. Before long, there was a almost full bottle of vodka and tow shot glasses on the kitchen table. Jewles was slow to move towards him and sit. There were only two chairs at this table and she forced herself to sit across from him.
She took the bottle and poured two shots. One for him and then one for her. She did not speak and did not look at him. Jewles leaned back in her chair and then taking a deep breath, she took the shot. She felt a slight warmth inside of her as it went down and then licked her lips. What was she supposed to say to her attempted murderer? The elves came forward again bringing a smorgasbord of cold snacks and sat it on the table.

Cole's dark eyes followed her movements. He looked down at the shot glass when she offered it to him. He picked it up and raised it to her. " Thanks, kid. " He said. Cole hadn't actually thought about asking her name and frankly, he didn't think he would see her again. His eyes traveled her for second then down at his shot glass.
The air around them was thick. Her with fear and his with a touch of awkwardness and regret. Mix it together and you had the perfect uncomfortable room. He exhaled slowly and downed the vodka. He shuddered as the liquid rolled over his tongue and down the back of his throat. " That shit is strong. Don't let it touch your tongue or it will knock you on your ass. " He said under his breath.

Jewels frowned slightly whwen he called her kid. She was not a child... Jewels did not know if he had entened for his words to be taken the way they were but there it was. She felt it was better not to say anything however. Jewels watched him take his drink and then she reached for a piece of cheese from the plater and bit into it.
" That shit is strong. Don't let it touch your tongue or it will knock you on your ass. " He told her. Jewels smirked. It was only vodka. He was actting like he had just had a shot of fire whiskey. "Ì have no problem holding my alchohol." She replied now and then poured second shots for both of them.
Again she drank hers down. Now her eyes were on him. She took him in. Her eyes paused on hisface and then the curve of his throat and his chest and arms. She did not think to check if he was watching her or not.

Cole's eyes drifted down the body he had abused. This was the first time he had gotten a look at her when he wasn't at snake level or trying to bash her head in. He sighed. " You look like you don't, Jewels. " He said. he had heard people calling her that upstares a couple times ago. She was tough little thing. If they had met under differance surcomstances, Cole wouldhave tried filirting with her, tried to take her face a little late night something or other. But no, they had to bump heads and fight.
" I know this isn't going to mean shit but I apologize for the alley. " He said. He waswaiting for a smack, a punch something. He knew what she could do in a fight. His groin started to hurt remebering her kick. He reached down and rubbed his thigh to try and get the pain to go away. he probably shouldn't have used a swear in his apology either.

Jewels felt a smile tug at the corner of her mouth when he called her by name. She looked at his face briefly once more to see his eyes moving, he was checking her out too. Jewels did not know how she felt about that. He was attractive of course. He looked a lot like his father had before the Dark Lord had before the man had gone power hungry.
" I know this isn't going to mean shit but I apologize for the alley. " Cole suddenly said to her. He was not looking at her however. Jewels took a bit of food from the platter and then ate it slowly. "Apologizes only mean something when they are heart felt." She replied afterwards. "Do you expect me to believe that you would not kill me if you had the chance?" He was his fathers son after all. She doubted if he even knew how to charm a woman.
