It was early afternoon and Theo was done with classes for a few hours and decided to get away from the inside of the school; away from all the first years and younger students that always seemed to take over the corridors in between classes. He eventually made it out to the paved courtyard where it was a cloudy and cool day but not rainy or windy, but looked as if it could rain later. Theo found a secluded spot and took a seat with his back rested against the stone wall.
"Stupid first years, why does it always seem that they have to take over the corridors after classes," he muttered to himself, "This school has gone to the dogs. The only thing that makes it good now is Professor Snape being headmaster. At least something went right there."
He took out his wand and started just messing around with spells; not dangerous ones to cause harm to anyone, but making things in the air.

Daphne Greengrass stalked out of the Potions classroom, her fitted robes billowing violently behind her. A dunderhead Gryffindor had blown up yet another Potion and Professor Snape was livid. He had dismissed the class early- all but the offending student. She made a quick stop in her dormitory, rolling her eyes at the other seventh year girls who had began to gush about the boys they had "acquainted" themselves with in the past week, dropped her stuff on her bed and turned to leave.
It was as she was making her way through the Common Room that she heard a wolf whistle directed at her. She halted immediately and turned on her heals. There was a group of foolish fifth year Slytherin's huddled in a corner. They were watching her, all wearing smirks on their pale faces. To the boys surprise, she smiled at them. As soon as Daphne recognized the shock on their face, she sneered and flicked her wand. Casting a strong stinging hex at the group. Without a word, she stalked out of the Common Room, leaving the pain struck boys behind.
It took her mere minutes to make her way to the paved courtyard, where she had planned to read the lone book she had carried outside with her. It was a Charms book that was not associated with Hogwarts or any other learning institute.
Daphne let a soft smile grace her features when she entered the courtyard. It wasn't completely empty, and her eyes automatically found the group of Hufflepuff first years. She sent them an icy glare. The group started and ran off. The Slytherin smirked, letting out a low chuckle. She looked a head of her and saw two third year Gryffindor's making there way in her direction. They didn't even seem to see her. She let her features relax when they came to a sudden horrified stop in front of her. Daphne gave the couple a convincing smile. She looked from the girl to the boy.
"She's pretty. You better not lose her." The girl blushed and the boy stuttered before blushing himself. She dipped her head and walked past them. With a coy smile, she flicked her wand towards the ground, and listened as the two screamed. They were screams of shock of course. Daphne wasn't stupid enough to injure a younger student. Even if they were Gryffindor's. She glanced over her shoulder and laughed as she saw the boy's pants on the ground and the girl covering her eyes.
"For the best results, always lure your victim into a false sense of security before attacking." She muttered to herself with another grin. Daphne made her way to the wall opposite the building and lowered herself down into a comfortable position and opened her book, giving one last look around her surroundings before beginning. Theodore Nott. He was sitting on the wall adjacent her. Theo was one of the more good looking boys at Hogwarts. Not that she would allow herself to act ridiculous as a result of it. But the two of them were friends- in a way. Not close, but close enough to where she could approach him and strike up a conversation if she wanted to. Well, if Theo felt like talking. That's how the Slytherin was. He was a loner. He didn't follow others around like a lost puppy. And most admirably, he wasn't one of Draco's minion's. Daphne liked Draco of course, he was, after all, dating her sister, but she still found no respect for the boys who followed him around blindly.
So Daphne aimed her wand, and sent a small jink that untied his shoe laces from their place and then retied them together between his feet. It wasn't anything major of course, just something small enough to get his attention. The wind picked up and she shivered slightly, burying deeper into her robes, and glancing down at her book.
