Hannah shivered as she walked up to the Owlery. It was a bit breezy which didn’t help it was already chilly without the wind. She almost lost the letter she had in her cloak pocket. She opened the door and stepped into the shelter of the Owlery. She found Susan’s owl Cupcake and took out her letter. Hannah’s letter read this: Dear, Hermione It’s me Hannah. You use to have Herbology with me. I hope I don’t put you in any danger writing this. But anyways if you guys need a place to stay at any time at all you can use my flat. The only thing is that my neighbours aren’t very friendly and it’s in muggle London. The address is BRUNSWICK QUAY, ROTHERHITHE, SE16. It’s two bedrooms but its’ workable I had a lot of people living there at once so it’s workable with three of you. I really don’t know what you three are doing but I hope it’s going well. It’s been crazy here at Hogwarts. Slytherins egos are still as bad as before if not worst. The homework amount is unbelievable and we have many new professors. Your friend, Hannah PS The owl will peck you if you don’t fed her, it’s Susan’s. Hannah sent her letter with Cupcake after teaching the owl not to eat the letter and feeding the owl so it wouldn’t get hungry on the way and eat the letter like last time.

There was a letter waiting on the table for Hermione when she went into the kitchen and she was confused to say the least. It couldn't have been from her parents- for the obvious reasons. The Weasley's, for one, wouldn't write to her without writing to the others, and secondly, they wouldn't risk having the letter be found or followed. So Hermione was clueless as to who it could be. She slipped it off the table as she headed over to pull a pan out to begin breakfast. Hermione slipped the letter open and skimmed through it, a small smile growing on her face as she read the letter from Hannah Abbot, one of her Hufflepuff classmates. Hermione set up the stove to cook, and retrieved a quill and ink. Her hip leaned on the counter as she wrote her reply. No, no danger. I think it best to avoid names though. Thank you so much for the offer, I really appreciate it, and I will talk to the others about it, but I would hate to put you in danger by doing that. We are doing well, I assure you. If you could let Neville and the others know that the next time you see them, we would greatly appreciate it! If I could smile through a letter, I would. I have felt a bit trapped, with limited company, being stuck with the boys, but things are going well. Slytherins- you learn to ignore them. Although I imagine they are being more bold now that he is in power. Who is the new Headmaster by the way? We have no way of knowing? The trick with homework, is putting it before everything else. I remember times where I would skip Hogsmeade trips with he boys to finish a project. I hated it, but it helped me out in the end. New professors? What do they teach? Surely they haven't fired too many old ones." Hermione sealed the letter before stopping. She had no way of returning the letter. What with Hedwig and all...She decided to see if perhaps the owl had waited outside. Grabbing a strip of bacon from the pan, making sure to wrap it in a paper towel, Hermione slipped outside to find an owl waiting. She handed over the bacon, which the owl quickly tore into, and handed off the letter. "Thank you," she told the bird, petting it gently before watching it fly off. The Gryffindor stepped back inside to finish breakfast.

Hannah had gone up to the Owlery to see if Cupcake had returned yet. Susan swore if anything had happened to it she’d kill her, which she knew Susan would never do. She was relived to see Cupcake and she had a letter. She took the letter and opened it. She found something to write on and to write with and started to write.
It’s good to know your okay. You won’t be putting me in more danger then I’m already in, I’ve had Death Eaters fallowing me all summer. Snape is headmaster but he isn’t the one you need to be scared of. We have Professor Brianna Murphy who teaches Muggle Studies that is new. She’s rather young but a great teacher. I think there are some more but I can’t remember their names or what they teach. But we know have Death Eaters for professors too according to Professor Murphy, I know she isn’t one of them though. How she knows that none of us know but Susan thinks she in the Order or something. I think she is just observant but who knows. I’ll let Neville know the next time I see him. By the way the DA is back. Thanks for the advice. I can imagine it can get a bit boring with just the two boys. It’s crazy how many students are missing this year at least out of Hufflepuff.
She found an envelope in her bag and sealing the letter inside. She feed Cupcake a few cherries and gave her the letter to take back.

Hermione sat in the library of Sirius Black's old house. It was very early in the morning and the boys were still sleeping. One of them was snoring, and she wasn't surprised at who it was. We are doing well. I'm sorry! That is worrisome! How did you manage that? What made them target you? I would never want to put any of you in danger, but names would put us in danger. All the Owl's are read for the most part, and while I may not be putting you in danger, I may be putting us in danger. I snort as I write that Professor Snape scares none of us here. He is vile and cowardly. I do hope that Professor Murphy does not end up like the past Muggle Studies teacher. I am sure other professor's are keeping an eye on her. I suspect Snape would hire Death Eaters. Typical of him. Oh if Professor Dumbledor were alive today- I imagine he is rolling over in his grave. You are seventeen now, correct? Have you gone to any Order meetings? Oh, the boys will be thrilled to hear about the DA! It helped so much when we first started it! I am sure it will help again this time. But listen, you all need to be very careful now that Snape and his cronies walk the halls. The DA cannot be discovered this time. There is no telling how many deaths would result in it. Well, you know the boys. Can't ever be too boring! Always getting up to something. No matter where we are. It's great to hear back from you! Has anything new happened since we last spoke? The boys stirred and Hermione stood up, putting the letter together. "Hungry?" She smiled at the boys and headed downstairs, letter in hand.

Hannah had been walking up to the Owlery to leave some food out for Cupcake. Susan didn’t want to leave the common room these days. Things had gotten pretty bad for the students. People needed to go into hiding and soon before they started dropping like flies.
She was surprised to see Cupcake sitting there waiting for Hannah with another letter. She fed Cupcake as she read the letter. Why hadn’t she joined the Order yet?
I helped out someone on the run over the summer and plus they probably think I’m a danger to them because of what happened last year. I never really thought about joining the Order. I’ve been too busy to think too much of anything. I hate to tell you this but you ought to know but things are getting really bad here. The DA found a bunch of first years nearly dead after we intruded on a detention session, which consists of the Cruciatus Curse these days; it’s horrible what the poor first years have been put through. We still aren’t sure if they’ll make it. I keep telling them we need to go into hiding before we all end up dead but no one wants to admit how bad it is yet. I had a friend leave Hogwarts a few days ago, just hoping he’s okay out there. Someone thought of using the Unbreakable Vow to keep the DA secret but it was well too over the top to get passed. I hope you are doing better than we are.
She petted Cupcake's head, for once not getting bitten for it, then gave her the letter along with a few red cherries.
