Lucas did not know what demon had decided to make his life a living hell and place Lucas in change of the Feast...oh wait...it was Severus. Lucas grumbled. He walked the length of the Great Hall with a limp left over from the battle in the Forbidden Forest a few weeks ago. Bloody spiders.... Lucas was not one for working in a team so he had almost single handed decorated this room. Except for a few of the staff who were able to ignore his sour attitude.
But he did have to admit as he now moved to the head table to sit down at last, that it was all worth it. The room looked good. The entire room was spotless with cream colored walls and pale pink and purple columns. It was a wonder what a little magic could do. The ceiling was no longer mirroring the sky out side but was instead a night sky filled with millions of stars, comets and planets. Round tables seating ten each were covered in light blue cloth and the gold plate sets shone. The lights were dimmed just slightly so that the silver and candle center pieces cast glowing shapes. Lastly soft music played throughout the room. One each plate setting was a menu. Each diner could choose their own meal and the house elves down below were ready to serve.
He was hardly a romantic but Lucas had to admit that this did look nice. Lucas moved to his seat behind the head table now and sat with a sigh. At least this design was better than what was going on in the halls. Suits of armor singing love songs everywhere you looked... Lucas looked up as people began to arrive. Students, the Headmaster Himself and other staff.

Luna couldn't wait until it was time for the Valentinestines Day feast in the Great Hall. She loved gatherings of all sorts. Luna was odd..yes..but was friendly to all, and it's sad that the way people would think about her, but that was who she was. She took off her school uniform in her room and then hung out in the common room of ravenclaw until it was time to meet in the great hall for the big feast. It was time....Luna was wishing a happy valentines day to anyone that she would pass, as she was skipping to the great hall.
She finally got there and it was stunning. The sky was filled with millions of stars, moons and planets, and all the armour were singing and it was just a nice feeling to her. She was skipping down the rows until she found her seat and she couoldn't help but notice Professor Gotti at the head table. He stood out like a sore thumb. Although there was quite an age gap, Luna of all people thought that he looked stunning."He never dresses like this" she thought to herself.
She looked up and saw that other students were taking their seat and she smiled at them greetingly. "happy valentines" she said to them all. "are you all as hungary as I am?" she said. "I hope there's pudding.

Hannah had been looking forward to the Valentine's Day Feast for quite a while now, and she was thankful that something nice was happening in the school for a change. Hogwarts had a dreadful atmosphere lately and it was certainly not helping Hannah keep positive about having to stay a year behind all of her friends.
As she walked into the room where the feast was being held, her mouth opened up a little in awe at the decorations. It was obvious that someone had put in a hell of a lot of effort into making the room look so amazing! It had a romantic feel to it, especially with all of the magical colours, the only downside was that Hannah was single at a Valentine's Day Party. She took a deep breath and quickly patted down her cerise skater skirt dress, which she had teamed with a pair of silver glitter courts. Glancing around the room for someone she could sit with, she spotted Luna Lovegood at the other side of the room and strided over confidently towards her.
As she stood beside Luna, she grinned happily at her as she overheard her wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's.
""Hey Luna." Hannah said casually, a smile still playing on her lips still when she took a seat beside the Ravenclaw.

Post by Venice Frost on Feb 18, 2012 17:37:31 GMT -5
Venice strolled in to the great hall and she looked wonderful. She usually is pretty plain but she got dressed up for this day. She was wearing a beautiful red dress that went tightly to her knees and a white sheer shawl and shiny red heels. Her hair was thrown up in a messy bun with strands of her wavy hair hanging down.
She was alone, she didn't even see her brother there yet..if he would even come..he liked to keep to himself, but she still hoped he would make an apearance. She was hoping that someone would notice her and maybe ask her to dance after the feast.
As she was walking down she noticed that the hall was filling up quicky and saw Hanna and Luna off to the side. As she got closer she heard Luna say "happy valentines" to everyone "Happy valentines Luna" venice replied with a smile. Hannah looked beautiful and a sort of jelousy kicked in on Venice's part but was quickly shrugged off. She decided to sit with Hanna and Luna since other revenclaw's were there. She looked at Hanna again and put her hand up." Hi Hanna" she said as she took her seat.

She spun around in her seat to spot a girl she recognized as Venice Frost. Hannah had seen her around school a few times before, although she had never had the chance to have an actual conversation with her. Hannah was a little surprised that Venice had actually acknowledged her, considering they didn't usually speak, however it felt nice to be noticed by someone other than one of her friends.
"Hi Hannah." The Ravenclaw girl had said, to which Hannah replied with in a chirpy voice, "Hello Venice! Your outfit is gorgeous, if I may add."
She wasn't even giving her a compliment because they barely knew each other, it was because it was true. However, it all felt a little too formal talking to Venice in this manner, but Hannah liked to get to know people first before beginning to feel relaxed around them. With Luna beside her, she felt a little more comfortable than she would have usually done if she had been talking to Venice alone.

Luna looked up and noticed a hufflepuff girl comming over to her""Hey Luna." Hannah said casually, a smile still playing on her lips still when she took a seat beside the Ravenclaw. "Hello and happy valantines day to you" she said. She noticed that there was pudding down the table a little bit and as she looked she saw Venice frost, a fellow ravenclaw like herself but she looked different, she looked fantasitc. As she was walking by she said " Happy valantines" to her. she responded and took her seat with them.
Luna grabbed a little saucer and said " please excuse me" she said silently. "They have pudding, I think I am going to have some" she went down the table a few seats and filled her plate with her favoirite pudding

He pulled his silky black bow tie tight against his neck, straightening out his coat sleeves, and smoothing himself off. His dress pants fit a little snug, but that was his style. The cyan button up under a black blazer with his house crest on it- he couldn't have looked nicer for Valentines.
The feast was going on as he spoke, so he jogged to the entrance, running his palms alongside his kinda-mohawk, making sure it was still curled and in place. He looked about the room as beautiful girls, handsome fellow house members, and dressy teachers joined together in one big room. It was nice to finally have someone on Valentines this year- speaking of that- where was Ophelia?
The Ravenclaw took a seat midway down the second set of chairs to the left, practically littered with Hufflepuff girls that knew him now, because of his frequent trips to see Ophelia.
"Hey, have you seen Ophelia?" He asked a younger Hufflepuff who was chatting with her friend.
She said no, so he turned back to his own seat and twiddled his thumbs for a moment or two.
Where could she be? We were supposed to be on time, this time!

"You have got to be kidding me!" Ophelia said angrily as she sent her brothers eagle of again without even touching the note. "I refuse to deal with this on Valentine's Day." After dealing with that, she had to deal with not being able to find her black flats, and so she had to settle with her cute yellow ones. And even then she couldn't find the right one.. She ran around in a pink Marilyn Monroe styled dress that swayed when she did, and one show on. She dropped down onto her knee's and looked under the bed, spotting the trouble making Snow laying on top of not only her black flats, but the yellow one she needed as well.
She gave her and, 'Are you joking me right now?' face and pulled her yellow shoe out from under him. With one final glance in the mirror, making sure her hair flowed down and around her neck in just the perfect way, she skipped out of the common room and towards the feast.
Ophelia laughed at the coats of armor. Some had wrapped their arms around the others and were pretending to make out, and others had arms around the others shoulders and were singing tunes. Very off tone she noted. Not nearly as beautiful as her Rhye's voice was. At the thought of Rhye she speeded up a little.
The hall looked so beautiful she stopped. Of course it always looked wonderful to her, but this was just to amazing. She looked over and saw her little brother Duncan talking and smiling with a second year Slytherin, she caught his eye and grinned with a knowing smile, he blushed and she laughed. She scanned the crowd and saw a very blond headed girl greeting some friends. She had learned that the girls name was Luna, but she hadn't officially met her. She continued to look around, noting the staff at the head table. She was disgusted at the Wizarding World for allowing Death Eaters to take over Hogwarts. People like her brother were the worst sorts of Wizards.
She finally spotted Rhye. He was sitting around a mixture of Hufflepuff's and Ravenclaws and he didn't seem to notice her enter. As she glided over to him she noticed a seventh year sit down in the only available spot by him. She was grinning and laughing, and then her face fell and she angrily stood and walked away. Ophelia looked on confused, but shrugged her shoulders and closed the distance between the two quickly.
"Is this seat taken?" She asked Rhye flirtatiously.

Rhye was about to go looking for his girl when a silky voice rang through his eardrums.
"Is this seat taken?" Ophelia asked flirtatiously.
He grinned to himself and turned around, instantly struck. "You look so beautiful tonight! Well, every night!" He placed his hands on her hips and kissed her cheeks, taking in her scent as he hugged her around the waist. Rhye drank in her beauty with his eyes, they sparkled a a greenish-brown under the cafe's lighting.
He couldn't get over her. Each day it was something new, she made him re-imagine their future because she just got better and better. Their life together would be perfect he'd make sure of it.
And just as he thought things couldn't get bad- they did.
Overhead, the eagle that Rhye had noted was from her brother, flew in the cafeteria. He pulled out his wand, finally fed up with it. The bird landed on a ledge holding a picture frame that lined the room. He released his arm from her waist and took a step towards it, a deep growl arising from deep within, a new side of him she had yet to see. He shouted: "Incendio!"
The flame didn't create that big of an explosion, because he could better control it. The only damage it did to anything was lance the edges of the bird's tail feathers, enough to send it squawking and flying away. He scowled as he turned back to Ophelia, hatred and apologies both dwelling in his eyes. "I'm.. sorry." He looked around at everyone then down, slipping his wand in his coat pocket, and turning around.
He headed up the steps near the cafe, sitting on about the sixth one up, his head buried in his hands. What if he just ruined his time with her? What would happen now with her brother? He was ready to face it, but was she?

Ophelia positively beamed at Rhye as he stood and pulled her to politely kiss her on the cheeks. "You look so beautiful tonight! Well, every night!" She was beyond blushing now and so settled with hugging him around the neck. But then something strange happened. Rhye's face looked angry and she didn't know what had caused it until it seemed quite suddenly that he had taken a step away from her and raised his wand. She followed his line of site when he yelled, "Incendio!"
That's when she saw the familiar of her Death Eater brother. A brother she was very afraid of and who had her and her little brother Duncan in his custody since he had killed their parents and managed to get away with it. And clutched in the claws of the Eagle was a scarlet red envelope. A howler. She new what it was about. For the past, well, she wasn't even sure how long, she had been refusing to even read her brothers letters, asking and appealing to her to join him in Voldemort's ranks. Every time, she refused. Rhye knew all of this, and he knew how it had impacted her emotionally to have the brother who used to be her best friend suddenly spiral downward on the path of evil. He just got fed up with it.
Ophelia watched the birds tail-feathers light up and she watched horror struck as it flew off, howler still in its grasps. Her brother would be livid, and she wasn't sure what route he would take to retaliate. She looked at Rhye, who was pocketing his wand. She had never seen him act so violently and without thought. It scared her somewhat to see him act on impulse like that, but at the same time comforting to know that he would do anything in a split seconds moment to protect her physically or emotionally. She couldn't say that she didn't like this side of him, it just made her cautious.
Rhye turned toward Ophelia slowly and she picked up sorrow and hatred. It was an odd combination and for a moment she feared the hatred was towards her. She opened her mouth in hurt before closing it again. She didn't know what to say.
"I'm.. sorry." She watched as Rhye glanced around around the great hall and then turned from her and walked out the doors quickly and with long strides. She stared after him realizing that the hatred she saw wasn't for her, but was for himself. And to be honest, that broke her heart more than it did when she thought the hatred was directed towards her. She glanced around nervously at everyone in the hall, luckily it hadn't been too busy. She glanced back up at the staff table, but not caring how they reacted.
Ophelia started running. She ran towards the door and once she was just outside she heard her name.
"Ophelia, wait." She turned around to see her little brother Duncan.
"Duncan, now isn't the time." She turned in the direction she thought he headed.
"Um. Your boyfriend just cast a fire spell at our brothers Eagle. Now is the perfect time." He looked amused. Ophelia shifted uncomfortably.
"He's not my boyfriend." She muttered. It was a lie of course. But she was just so worried about it getting back to her brother that she was dating a Muggle Born. She wasn't ashamed of Rhye, she just wanted to keep him safe. Duncan wouldn't have any of it. He rolled his eyes, looking at her with a face that said, 'You can't lie to me.'
"Alright, alright. Yes he is." Her brother smiled at her.
"Okay then, now that we've cleared up the fact that your boyfriend, is in fact your boyfriend, are we officially declaring open war on Finley?" Ophelia looked horrified. Was he crazy? She grabbed him by the shoulders and pulled in into a secluded area.
"Why would you say that? You know what, I don't have time for this conversation Duncan. "Go back to the feat and your own little girlfriend." She smirked as her brother looked affronted. She turned towards the stairs picking up speed, but stopped and looked back, "Duncan," She called back, "Don't do anything stupid where Finley is concerned." She turned and jogged and towards the stairs.
