Minerva sat at the staff table and slowly ate lunch watching the students come and go for lunch. She always had an eye on the Gryffindor table, she knew they were being mistreated, along with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. She wondered if she was really the only good person in the teaching staff..she had a worried look on her face as she looked over the great hall... She looked down , lowering her hat to cover her face as a small tear ran down her cheek. She had to be strong though, She never spoke to the Death Eaters, Never
She smiled at each student that looked at her,,she knew it gave them some reasurance, she was here for them at least.
She was scared, not for herself, for the students., she had to protect them from the Death Eaters. She could handle Snape, she knew that and deep down Snape knew that...She just wished she wasn't alone , it felt the school was taken over by death eaters. It was even difficult to discipline Slytherins......It Was Not Hogwarts Anymore..
She wondered to herself why she was still here, Death Eaters everywhere, she should be away somewhere else in the world hiding and living a happy life..But No..She felt she had a duty!,,To Hogwarts, To Dumbledore and to her students...She Would not leave..She Would fight, right to the end..

Tienna strutted into the Dining Hall and sat. She wondered what they would be fed... So much had changed! Slytherins were now favored, and since her family was, regretably, muggles, they had interrigated her but found her useful to the wizard world. She had been so happy, her life was saved.
OOC/ Sorry... no muse.

Severus was not hungry. He was only here because it was his duty. He too looked over the students. He did not fear for them. The Dark Lord did not want to harm them, he wanted to recruit them. Severus did not like that idea but he did not dare speak his mind to his leader. Severus was quickly bypassing Lucius as The Dark Lords right hand man. But he was not that highly thought of. He too knew that things had changed. Slytherins were favored because of their house and their attributions. The other houses were not so much. Severus however tried to keep an even ground however. He did try to keep the other students safe enough. He knew that the deatheaters in this school could be harsh with all house other than Slytherin but Severus did step in when things got too bad.
He glanced over at Minerva now. The elderly woman sat to his right. He saw the tear that fell and Severus almost commented but in the end stayed silent. What could he say? He knew the woman was against him. She had no idea what he had been through. She blamed him. For the death of Albus, for the death eaters, for the danger all around them. She did not know that this was not what he wanted. Severus had lied to the Dark Lord to save Harry Potter for that little bit longer, for Lily... He had killed Albus, the man he respected most. His confidant because Albus himself had asked. Severus was not a Villain. He was as much a victim as anyone else.
Severus let out a great sigh. He was alone in his pain and self blame. Sarah tried to be there for him but even she could not fully understand the agony. He sipped from the water before him now and his eyes went back to the students who sat eating and talking. His dark eyes moved looking for Alexis or Helen.

Minerva watched Snape as he entered the Great Hall, she watched him sit and did not say anything to him. She sipped on her pumpkin juice and watched the Gryffindor table. The only words she said to Snape were small talk or about students. She had lost all respect she ever had for the man. She gave him respect and understood he was a death eater when younger, but she thought he changed, she respected and trusted him because Albus did. But since he Murdered Albus, she has barely been able to look at him let alone talk to him. She was only at the school to protect the students, She knew Snape knew that and she knows the Death Eaters wanted her gone, but for some reason unknown to her Snape kept her at the school.
Minerva lifted her head slighty and looked at snape, how could he show his face everyday she thought to herself. She sipped on her drink and cleared her throat. " Severus" she said in a plain voice, nodding her head. She couldnt even say hello, that was about as civil as she was going to be, she never did or could call him " Headmaster" she didnt feel he deserved the title.

Entering the Great Hall for lunch time, it was required that she attended and she would very much like to stay away and have her own meals in her quarters. The more she looked around her, the more she hated what she saw, she had stayed neutral in all of what was happening but now she could see everything for what it really was, but she would keep herself to herself and not let herself be dragged into everything. Taking her seat, she looked down at the students and it did break her heart to see the fear in them but she was not going to get involved, all she could do was teach the best she could.
Looking down at the table, she saw Professor McGonagall down the table, she had always been some form of a mentor to her and Gwen looked up to her, she always had but in these times loyalties had to be hidden away from everyone even if It did cause pain. Then she saw Headmaster Snape and she always tried to stay clear of him, keeping herself away from him, even after working with him all these years. Ordering her food – just a simple salad she waited for it to appear. Gwen was dressed in a plain pair of black trousers and a blue blouse completed with her long black teaching robe and her normal heeled shoes, she would never not wear her heels, they were comfortable for her.
Gwen once more looked down the table and watched the teachers for a moment before moving her gaze back to the students. A lot of the students were not in attendance this year, she knew it was because parents were scared and she could not blame them. Part of her was glad that her sister and nieces were in the states. Gwen was not entirely sure why she still had a job at Hogwarts, it was no secret that she was a half blood, but maybe it was because she had not taken sides, but she didn’t know how long that would last for.

" Severus" He heard and Severus looked towards her once more. The hate she felt for him almost radiated off of her. "Minerva." He replied. Sever noticed another staff member enter the hall. His eyes followed her for a moment until she took her seat and then Severus looked back to the woman at her side. He sighed again. There was a time they had worked together to keep this school going.
"It's not what you think Minerva." He told her in a low voice now. "I am doing what I can. My hands are not free to my own will. I only want to see this school and it's students survive. Do you really think I want to see students man handled? I do what I can to help them but I am of no good dead." Severus was silent for a long moment now.He glanced along the line of students noting the deatheaters there. They were not here by his choice. Severus looked down now. "You will never believe me Minerva, but I am sorry for everything that has happened. All of it."

Minerva raised her head as Severus spoke, She looked down and noticed Gwen, She gave the woman a warm smile and nod and looked at Snape.
She also lowered her voice so nobody would hear them " Its all words Severus, Words mean nothing, its the actions, You're a murderer Sevrus" he shuddered at the the sound of the word. She took a small sip from her juice and looked down at the students. " The school is being run by deatheaters Severus, Students are being punished in ways i would never imagine possible, This School used to be a place students and staff loved to be, they felt safe, secure and happy...Look at it now, have a look around.." She said reffering to the house tables, students eating in silence to scared to do anything, walking on egg shells and the gloom dark feeling that was everywhere you went. " This will all end one day Severus, i know it will, and you will have to live with it for the rest of you're life when its over.." She sat up and sipped her juice. " Oh and Severus, please tell me, since we have never spoke of it , Why did you kill Albus Dumbledore? Youre friend, mentor, the man who trusted you and gave you everything, the man who gave you a seccond chance, and you betrayed him, how did it feel? what do you hope to achieve? He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named doesn't care about you Severus, he cares about nobody but himself, you're getting nothing out of this in the end,. I used to trust you Severus, I used to believe in you..well i will not sit back for long and the rest of my days and watch this school suffer anymore, the students and staff wont go through anymore pain, i dont care what deatheaters are here and what they do" She cleared her voice, "I WILL NOT ALLOW IT" She said in a raised voice..Once she noticed how loud she was she sat back and pulled her hat down again slighty to cover her face and turned away from Snape. Her face bright red with anger.
. She knew she was strong and she wasn't scared..and she knew Snape knew she was strong and although she was old she was skilled and strong...

Wilbur scuffled into the hall, trying to straighten himself to his full and imposing stature, sneering at the parasites he was forced to spend his days teaching. Though the elderly man saw himself as a fearsome and vile creature, he resembled more of a cross between an ostrich and a particularly unattractive dugong. Merlin’s hairy balls, he hated children! Those empty headed hooligans, spreading their filthy germs with goofy grins that relayed their absent minded glee could go drown themselves in the lake for all he cared! Before, he always ate his boiled cabbage and prune juice in his own office. Now, some spaghetti brained dinglehead had decided to make it protocol to eat with the rest of the staff in the great hall. As if he did not hate people enough already! Panting heavily from the walk across the hall as he approached the staff table, he slumped into his designated place at the table. He could smell the allergens drifting through the air currents; it disgusted him almost as much as the fools that now surrounded him. Nodding to his colleagues, he dove into a plate of lukewarm cabbage soup. Tasteless, as he liked it, the once warm liquid fell down his throat. Due to his many severe allergies and health conditions, there was not much Wilbur could safely eat, however, boiled cabbage had always been a particular favorite of his.
As usual, the staff was obsessing over their petty politics. It was always ooh I killed your friend, ooh I like muggles, ooh you said the v-word! Frankly, he cared not of irrelevant alliances and childish arguments. However, the professor had to admit he wouldn’t mind if through this war, he who must not be named and his opposition wiped out the majority of the human race. Besides, the world would be a much better place without it swarming with muggles. Decidedly, he was angled towards the side of he who must not be named; nevertheless, he was neutral on this one. Wilbur did not occupy his time with petty quarrels.
Gazing semi-consciously as Severus whispered something unintelligible to Minerva, he wondered when the two had begun talking. Since September, it seemed all they had exchanged were dirty looks and curt nods. So what if Dumbledore was dead? He was old, foolish and slightly off in the head. If now Wilbur harbored a dislike for Snape it was not due to his recent act of murder. Snape had once been one of the people Wilbur disliked the least. The potion’s master once seemed introverted, curt, even rude and critical. Wilbur had once found him slightly like himself when it came to the social graces. Unfortunately, all hell had broken loose when Severus had begun to fill his head with despicable notions of wild, passionate and scandalous romance. Merlin’s beard, did people really loose their minds so fast nowadays? What was once the imposing bat-like teacher was now some dreamy-eyed, empty-headed Romeo.
Quite suddenly, Minerva, raising her voice in anger, interrupted Wilbur from his thoughts. Jumping a good three feet in the air, Wilbur clutched his heavily beating chest, panting before exclaiming.
“Good God! Don’t get your knickers in a knot you silly woman! Some of us are trying to eat!”
Scowling at the elderly witch, Wilbur took a great gulp of prune juice to calm his wits. Must all humanity be so absurd! The world was toppling over into a black abyss of atrocious stupidity. Some cruel and vengeful deity, had Wilbur ever believed in them, must be amusing himself by dropping the genius he was into such a nest of pure foolishness. Wilbur’s burden was truly to put up with the rest of the world’s imbecilic antics. What idiocy, the earth was heavy with!

Sometimes Lucifer Samael thought that the conversations between the teachers were even more ridiculous and drama-riddled than those that they criticized the students for. McGonagall - whom he doubted he would ever address by her first name, despite her insistence - was practically radiating anger after her latest declaration, whilst Snape played the, "I'm doing it for them!" routine. Perhaps that was true, perhaps not, but Lucifer found it rather hard to care what the man said after seeing the staff he had hired. Granted, he himself had only gotten his teaching position because the Order needed someone to keep an eye on the population of Death Eater professors - so around, what, fifty percent or more of them? - but he liked to think that it had something to do with his skill at Wandless Magic. Which it did. Please, like they would have given the position to someone less skilled at deceit than he.
A smirk on his face - the self-satisfied one at that - Lucifer watched his fellow professors, giving a deliberate aura of complete and utter contempt. The new woman, Gwen Lawrence, was no real obstacle to him and, though he supposed she was a very handsome woman, the disturbing lack of her being a male effectively prevented him from doing much in the way of pursuing her. Perhaps they would have been friends, but she was firmly insistent on being neutral, a trait that tended to come out in the littlest things she did as opposed to anything she had said outright. McGonagall, Lucifer figured with an idle sip of his firewhiskey, was at her wits' end. She was trying to keep the school together to the best of her abilities, but sadly it appeared those abilities were not equal to much when it all came down to it, though indeed there was little she could do when there were so many Merlin-be-damned Death Eaters infesting the staff like the mindless little leeches they were. Honestly, it was just annoying now, more of a nuisance than a cause for fear as the original Order meeting had been wary of. Then there was Snape. Lucifer actually sighed at that one, though he supposed the less said about anything concerning their rather... unstable headmaster, the better. He honestly didn't even know what to think about him anymore, though that was more due to the few select surprises they had been handed in terms of the headmaster's personal life. Less said about that the better as well, he supposed. He was there to teach and observe, not judge Snape's rather unstable position with both sides of this war.
Of course, Wilbur Swine was always there to put a good chuckle in him. Laughing openly, Lucifer turned to glance at the elderly professor, watching as he drank his - oh dear Merlin, ew. Lucifer made a face, a feature his brother had always declared completely unattractive and childlish and hardly the way you ought to be behaving at this age, brother! Though considering all other things I guess I should not be surprised at any of the poor decisions you make.
"Really, Wilbur," Lucifer drawled, "is that really necessary? Some of us are trying to eat without involuntarily spewing our food."

“I’ll have you know that cabbages are an excellent source of dietary fiber as well as prune juice making them excellent stool softeners. Of course, what keeps me regular keeps me from wincing each time I sit down so you might as well get used to it.” The breath required for his answer hit him right in the chest as he panted a few times, trying to return air to his lungs. Unfortunately, conversation easily veered to feces when in Wilbur’s presence. Refuse was a familiar topic to him as he struggled often with his acute constipation, an uncomfortable and painful ailment. Wilbur could have also added that neither food contained any of the several allergens that affected him but prepared not to reveal his weakness. His enemies could easily use such information against him, attacking him when he least expected it.
The mere thought made his already troubled insides turn even more. If he was still alive today it was due to a veritable smorgasbord of pills, puffers, needles and protection spells. He also refrained from ever stepping a foot outside where he’d be at risk of reacting to the pollen, dander, bees and dust. Among his other allergies there was also nuts, eggs, penicillin, glasses, strawberries, sesame seeds, seafood, soy and chlorine. If this was not enough to worry about, he was also a victim of hayfeaver, hydrophobia, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, anemia, asthma, and diabetes. Wilbur had always been a sickly man; life had not graced him with health or strength.
The students were growing noisy, amplifying his headache. If only he was alone on this earth! Rid of all the parasitic, pesky morons fate had punished him to live alongside, life would be glorious. When he retired, he may become a hermit. Alone with a few quiet house elves, he’d end his days free from society’s utter stupidity. The thought calmed him as he envisioned it. Perhaps a manor in the countryside, where nobody would bother him would be fit? No, he hated grass, trees, flowers, butterflies, fresh air or those noisy little birds. In the city? No to many people and most cities housed disgusting muggles. The desert? No, too much sunshine, he hated that too. Truly Hogwarts was his only home, he never had to step out of the castle, was waited on by several house elves over the course of the day and best yet could benefit from the school hospital where he could go whenever any of his symptoms presented itself. If there was a problem with his current home it was the fact that he had to teach in order to reside in the school and that there were other people he had to interact with.
