The ordeal of dinner was over for another night and Crispin was glad of it. It was not like he ate human food. All he ever did was sit up there at the head table and watch everyone else. So now he was free for the night. No classes, no annoying questions and no knowing stares. The sun had set when he stepped out into the courtyard. There was a nice breeze in the air and the night sky was clear with hundreds of stars. Crispin stood there breathing deeply though it was unnecessary for him.
How much he hated to be here. To play Voldemort's game. Crispin could not stand the man. But at this point, it was important to be on the winning team. Well...the winning team for now. Voldemort underestimated him. But Crispin would fix that soon enough. There would come a time when vampires would stop hiding.
He had other things to worry about now anyways. With Cristina here, Crispin was hampered. Not to mention the fact that he now had to worry about her safety as well. It was his fault that she had lost her mortal life and he would not allow her to loose her immortal one as well.
Because of all these thoughts, Crispin did not realize that he was not as alone as he had at first thought. His head turned slightly now at a slight sound. There is the shadows near one of the stone benches was a student. A small one...a first year it seemed. He stepped a little closer to her silently and keeping to the shadows waiting to see what she was doing.

After dinner was over in the Great Hall, Gemma didn't want to go up to her house common room. She wanted to do what she wanted and she did not want to be inside. Carefully exiting the Great Hall rather sneaky, she made her way out to the courtyard and stumbled upon a stone bench, rather hidden that she seemed comfortable with. She just wantd to be by herself. This was all new to her..Hogwarts and the wizarding world. She grew up as a muggle. She knew that she was a bit different then her parents but she never thought for a miniute she was a witch( and a very good one at that). The stress of being away from her parents and being in this different world and school was taking some adjusting but yet it seemed rather comforting to her too. She just needed to be by herself. She was feeling angry and overwhelmed that she had been betrayed in some way. That someone should have told her about her destiny and not keep it a surprise. She was doing the best she could to adjust.
She sat down on the stone bench and was trying not to get upset with everything she was feeling and thinking. "Snap", Gemma turned and looked to the right and to the left of herself but no one was in sight. "mild rustling" Gemma turned again an said quietly,"who's there" no one answerd. She just thought that it was a rodent of somekind wandering around the courtyard.
Gemma turned back around and she was just starring and starring. Then all of a sudden the little bush beside that stoned bench was set on fire. She set it on fire, way beyond the tallents of a first year..
Gemma jolted not meaning to set it on fire because she didn't want to be seen. She took out her wand again and gave it a wave and the fire was put out..

"who's there" He heard the girl ask and Crispin scoffed softly. How many times had he heard a female ask that question just before he had attacked and fed. But that was not his intention tonight. Severus had made it quite clear that Crispin would be removed from the school if he attacked a student or staff member. Voldemort was sure to make a fuss if that happened.
Crispin continued to stand in the shadows and was growing a bit bored when suddenly a bush beside the girl burst into flames. Crispin pulled out his want to kill the flames when the girl did it for hit. His head tilted now. Now what was that...? Crispin stood there watching the girl and playing over what he had just seen in his mind. This girl had started that fire and then put it out. Both spells above first year curriculum as far as he was aware. And she was a first year right? Yes...yes he remembered her faintly from the sorting ceremony months back.
Crispin grinned coldly and slowly. It was starting to dawn on him what he had here. This girl was smart. He only wondered just how much. She was young and he could mold her. "That, young lady is vandalism." He spoke in a soft almost soothing tone and stepped out of the dense shadows now.
Crispin moved towards the girl coming to a stop about a foot behind her. His wand was still in his pocket and his hand around the base. She should know the rules about wand use on a professor but Crispin wanted to be safe. "That's an offense punishable by expulsion." He added. His face was calm and hard to read. He just wanted to get the gist of this girl. She if she was something he could work with.

Gemma, disturbed and a bit frighted that someone may have seen what she had just done. She jumped quickly and before she could run away she could feel that if someone was behind her. She could feel something telling her not to run away, but she was just a child, of couse she was curious
Gemma turnen around slowly and noticed there was a tall man with brown layered shoulder length hair and looked to be the one that always sits at the head table in the great hall during school feasts and gatherings. She apeared frighted as she might get in trouble for being out this late and not in her house room. She knew the rules and broke them anyway.
Once she was fully turned she said"Sir I'm sorry that I'm not inside, I know it was wrong of me" as she put her head down so her chin touched her chest. Because she was so upset about possibly being in big trouble she began to tremmble a bit and out of no where began a fast blowing wind.
She then clinched her hands together to form a fist down to her side and closed her eyes and a few moments passed and the wind subcited. She then looked up to the man and said in a soft deep sadened voice" I think i should go inside to my room now".

Crispin expected the girl to be surprised and he was not disappointed. When she turned, Crispin could she her emotions in her young eyes. "Sir I'm sorry that I'm not inside, I know it was wrong of me" She told him and Crispin smirked. This girl was so priceless. At least that was what he thought until the unnatural wind began to blow. Chrispin stood there not reacting at the wind as it gushed around him. " I think i should go inside to my room now". She said in a sad way and now Crispin reacted. "I think not." He told her in a low voice. If she made a move to leave Crispin would stop her.
"I was not talking about you being out here, Miss Gaffery." Yes Crispin knew her name. He had heard it around. 'I was talking about the fire...and now the wind." He paused looking down at her. The doors leading to the castle and a student exited. He saw Crispin and muttered a "sorry professor" and then disappeared back inside. Crispin did not even look at the boy. He was focused on Gemma. "You did that didn't you?" He asked her now. "You are quite young to know such magic. And as I said destruction of school property...I'll have to report you."

And as I said destruction of school property...I'll have to report you." She looked up at him with her saddened but scared eyes and shook her head a little to get the hair out of her eyes and said "I didn't meen to destroy school property" she said in a whinney tone.
She then dropped to her feet and wrapped her arms around his legs and held herself there for a brief moment and said to him sadly " I don't know why these things happen they just do, I can't explain it" she said to him in even more of a whinney tone.
She knew by how he said it that she was going to be reported and knew there would be consiquences. She was frightened that the head master would contact her parents and would be sent home and she didn't want that. She liked hogwarts very much. She seemed that she was getting a little comfortable with this professor. It wasn't lke her to grab on to someone that she barley knows...even a teacher.
"Please sir, please don't report me" she begged to him. "I will do anything" she pleaded once more
