Wednesday Evening. Twenty seven minutes past eight It's cold and David is sitting on a toilet but don't worry his trousers are on. The reason he was sitting in this out of order lavatory was the amount of disturbance he was receiving.
None, and that was all because of this little detour into Moaning Myrtle's domain. Obviously there was the added risk of a baby Basilisk coming up and petrifying him so that he died but it was all necessary as there was a very good article about medical charms in a book from which he had borrowed from the library.
So here he was, with his legs sticking out of the closed cubicle door with his wand in one hand, casting a small Lumos charm and his book in the other. Suddenly a creak was heard and the wand went dark. Slowly David stood up and opened the door to his toilet domain watching the floor for any movements.
A larger Lumos charms later and the whole room is illuminated in yellow light. No-one was in the bathroom except David and the threat of a Basilisk attack was averted, in his heart of hearts David wanted to think that a little house elf had just ran past the toilets.
David resumed his reading but this time he was sitting on the floor with his back against a wall, he continued reading for another twenty minutes with his wand giving out just a little light to avoid detection but something else had disturbed David for which he turned to face the intruder. An eyebrow was raised and David had a conversation at hand, hard times eh?

Delphi Emma Jaymesinn was gliding down the dark corridors of Hogwarts, headed back to her Common Room before curfew had passed. The last thing she needed was to be g caught and sentenced to a detention with a Death Eater. She shuttered at the thought. It was as she was heading past a bathroom on the third floor was her course forced to change.
Seemingly out of nowhere, before her stood...no, floated, a female figure. She gasped and put a hand to her heart. "Myrtle! You know not to do that to me." She bent over, hands to knee's and laughed lightly, shaking her head. Delphi enjoyed Myrtle's company, and she was one of the rare few who did.
"Delphi," She whined, "I feel like it is happening again." The ghost whimpered and flew in a large circle in front of Delphi, stopping again, only inches in front of her face.
"Myrtle, dear, what are you talking about?" She frowned at the ghost.
"In my lavatory. Mine!" She all but shrieked and Delphi ducked, passing Myrtle and heading into an abandoned classroom.
"Myrtle! Cease with the loudness! I can't help you if I get caught out past curfew." She scolded her transparent friend. Moaning Myrtle frowned at her friend.
"He's there." She replied flatly. Delphi's eyebrows creased together in confusion.
"Who is where?"
"Him! I don't know. A boy. He is in my lavatory. In my stall!" She said in a horror filled voice. Delphi rolled her eyes.
"Have you tried asking him to move?" Really, the answer was simple. If Moaning Myrtle didn't try and do things for herself, then she wouldn't be able to moan and complain.
"Come with me." She requested.
"No. Curfew is almost up. I refuse to get in trouble." She went to pass the ghost and exit the room, but froze when a death scream came from behind her. Delphi turned around and glared at the ghost who had her mouth wide open, the most dreadfully awful scream escaping her throat.
"Fine!" Delphi snapped. "This better be a damned big deal." She growled and followed the now gleeful ghost to another floor and another lavatory.
The two approached Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, and nothing seemed out of place.
"Myrtle." She said doubtfully, and glared at the ghost.
"Why am I so doubted?" She wailed before rushing straight down into the floor. Delphi was about to turn to leave when a low faint glow was detected. Her eyebrows drew together. She had honestly thought Myrtle had been lying just to get Delphi to visit her, as she had done on numerous occasions. Delphi slipped a step passed the threshold.
"Hello?" She walked a bit closer, and before she realized it, she wasn't standing in the room alone. She gasped and put a hand to her heart.
"Dear sweet Merlin! You gave me a fright!"

The book laid loosely on his knees which were brought up to his chest and even after Myrtle had left and begun screaming it did not deter him from this glorious book, it even said about a possible cure for the killing curse.
Footsteps were heard and a gasp followed, then a sigh which actually came from David at his annoyance of being disturbed. Luckily the sigh wasn't heard over the loudness of the gasp given so David was in the clear.
"Dear sweet Merlin! You gave me a fright!"
David stuck out his bottom lip, he never wanted to cause negative emotion to anyone so giving someone a fright was a bad thing in his opinion.
Slowly he got to his feet and placed his book under the crook of his right arm.
"Sorry for scaring you, I didn't mean to. I was just sitting here reading my book then Myrtle starts shouting"
While speaking David looked at the floor, avoiding eye contact, but after he finished speaking he looked up. A smile spread across his face at the sight for which he saw, this girl was beautiful and obviously out of his league so that idea obviously had to be put out of the way.
"Sorry, i'll leave now...."
The face disappeared from his face and he begun walking slowly towards the door. As usual David was leaving to avoid a fight, which in his mind was likely to happen but in the real world probably not as likely.

Theo was indeed out of bed at a very late hour, past curfew, but he really didn't care all that much seeing as if Snape caught him and he being in Slytherin, not much would probably get done. He was heading up to the second floor corridor when he heard some noises coming from the girl's lavatory or what was known as Myrtle's bathroom to some. Smirking a bit in perhaps it being a few first years, he quickly made his way there.
When he got there, he noticed Myrtle making a commotion and such that it made Theo even more interested. When he walked around the corner, he noticed a Hufflepuff boy starting to walk out and almost nearly ran into him.
"Hey oily Osler, watch out where you are going! Confused again on what bathroom you need," Theo replied as he laughed a bit realizing that there was another person there.
Peering around the corner a bit, and preventing David from leaving, he noticed a very pretty Ravenclaw whom he knew as Emma, since that's what he heard she liked to be called. Having no problems with her really, he turned back towards David and just snickered, "You are so pathetic."

Delphi listened with interest as the Hufflepuff explained. Her hearbeat continued to ring in her head as he was talking. His voice a low mummer. She smiled when a grin broke out on the boys face, but soon morphed into confusion as his smile fell.
"Sorry, i'll leave now...."
Delphi Emma opened her mouth to respond, but the boy passed her, heading towards the door on the other side of the room. She took a few steps forward before turning around to watch him walk away. Her head turned towards her reflection.
"What just happened?" She muttered to herself. She hadn't meant for the boy to leave. He had simply startled her. He was clearly a seventh year, she didn't know any sixth years built like he was. She lifted the palm of her hand to rub at her left eye, it had been bothering her and she feared she was getting an infection of sorts, as it seemed to be turning pinkish. Her goal wasn't to scare the boy away, but she couldn't control his actions. She did hope neither of them got caught in the corridors, there was no doubt that whichever Professor caught them, would suspect worse then what had actually happened. She felt the tips of her hair go pink, for she was a Metamorphmagus, and she headed towards the door.
Delphi headed towards the door, pausing when she suddenly made eye contact with Theodore Nott. Seventh year Slytherin. She knew him, but not too terribly. She did know that he was one of the few Slytherin's who didn't mindlessly follow Draco Malfoy around like a wounded puppy. Perhaps that was one of his few redeeming qualities.
"You are so pathetic." Theo snickered at the boy. Delphi hesitated with rather or not to say something. She didn't want to embarrass the older Hufflepuff by trying to defend him, especially when it would probably just make things worse for him when it came to the Slytherin.
Delphi slipped around them all, standing in a neutral spot between the two.
"Theodore," She sighed, "What are you doing out so late?" Delphi was starting to get nervous. She really didn't want to get caught. She glanced up at the Hufflepuff she didn't know.
"How far is the Hufflepuff Common Room from here? It's already passed curfew and none of us need to get caught." She bit her lip and glanced around.
"Ravenclaw's Common Room isn't too far." She whispered to herself. Why had she let herself be lured by Myrtle? She hated walking the castle at night, it was scary.

David felt Theo collide with him as he left the door but surprisingly David wasn't the one who had bounced off instead it was Theo who was obviously more beanpole like than the rugby player type build of David. David stood strong and firm and allowed for the following insult to bounce off of his five foot eleven frame of a man.
"You are so pathetic"
A few years ago and he would have gone off on one meaning that he would have gotten angry which would have most likely resulted in Theo screaming in pain with his ankle in small insignificant pieces.
That was an old David and one that wouldn't be making the light of day anytime soon. At least not until the final battle between Harry Potter and He Who Must Not Be Named but that was years away right?
Suddenly Delphi's head stuck out from the bathroom and in his heart David felt a little glimmer of hope, hope that she would back him up, but no the hope shattered inside of his cold, dead heart as she just stood there like a coward. Finally she spoke but it was merely a question towards Theodore, the egotistical seventh year who deserved to be put on his backside.
"How far is the Hufflepuff Common Room from here? It's already passed curfew and none of us need to get caught."
The question which posed him was a simple one but one that wouldn't get an answer as David had begun to walk away after giving her a small smile followed by a shake of the head. He couldn't stand spinelessness and this was beginning to make him angry with the voices in his head telling him to attack them both.
Turning the corner he hoped that Delphi would follow him but he didn't expect her to, it was peer pressure that kept her with Theo. The fear that he would ridicule her just like he had ridiculed him, we're all sheep anyway right?

Delphi watched as the tall Hufflepuff smiled shaking his head.
'What did that mean?' She though to herself. 'Should you have said something? Why didn't he defend himself? Was his self-confidence that low? Did he have no self-respect? Delphi watched the boy slip away. When he turned the corner, but possibly within ear shot, she rounded on Theodore.
"What is wrong with you?" She asked him sternly. "Can't you just bite your tongue? You act like you are independent and free thinking, but this just proves you aren't. You are no better then Malfoy and his disgusting band of babbling, bumbling band of baboons. Do you have no respect for yourself?" She snapped. Delphi rubbed at her eye. It was beginning to hurt badly, and itch some. With a final, but weak glare do to her eye, she ran a few moments to catch up with the Hufflepuff she didn't know.
It didn't take her too long to catch up with the seemingly slow walking boy. She matched his stride for a minute or two in silence. "I'm sorry for back there. He really shouldn't have called you pathetic. It was weak of him. Weak and despicable." She continued to walk, feeling awkward and not knowing what to do, which was very out of character for her considering her usual happy and 'bouncing off the wall' attitude of hers; but right now she was tame, and a bit scared. Hogwarts at night was scary. But Hogwarts run by Death Eaters at night was terrifying. She rubbed at her eye again.
"I'm Delphi Jaymesinn. Sixth year Ravenclaw." She said a little lighter and more like herself. "The Hufflepuff Common Room is near the dungeons and kitchens, is it not?"

The words given to Theodore were probably a bit serious for what he had said, he only said that David was pathetic and called him oily. Not exactly worth a huge war surrounding it, though it was good that someone was finally sticking up for him.
She then decided to follow the "Oily Osler" around the corner and this made David give a little smile which disappeared almost immediately when they begun to walk side by side, several moments of awkward silence proceeded it. What did she want? A medal for being a stand up act? Not likely!
Finally she decided to plug up the courage to talk, well done for her. That was sarcastic by the way, in his head David is quite the arse.
"I'm sorry for back there. He really shouldn't have called you pathetic.
David stopped in his tracks and turned to face her after rubbing his chin with his right hand after transfering his book to his left hand. The smile returned back this time it was almost a grimace brought on by a sudden rush of pain.
"If you just want an apology then fine I forgive you. I have had it up to here..."
He raised his right hand to just below his chin, he was beginning to get angry and his nostrils were starting to flare.
"...up to here, with people who wish to get in my good books. I know I am the not the most popular person in Hogwarts but I am damned sure not the weakest..."
By this time David was beginning to shout, not worrying if it got David, the spineless Delphi or even the cowardly slytherin Theodore Nott. At this day and time David was venting, and venting he would!
....no I'm not the weakest and back there with Theodore I could have broken his ankle but I didn't. I'm Done"
He gave Delphi a small nod before walking away once again, strangely still with a smile on his face. David had finally let out his problems, and it felt good.

Delphi was brought to a sudden and jerky halt when the Hufflepuff turned quite suddenly to face her. She held her breath, not knowing what to expect, and scratched her burning eye. She watched with some trepidation as his book transferred hands and he grimaced.
"If you just want an apology then fine I forgive you. I have had it up to here..."
His voice grew a little louder and Delphi's anger began to rise. Instead of cowering back, which was not her, she went on the defense. She squared her shoulders as he continued. Instead of flinching at the sudden raising of the boys hand thy matched the raising of his voice, Delphi prepared herself for an explosion of emotion.
"...up to here, with people who wish to get in my good books. I know I am the not the most popular person in Hogwarts but I am damned sure not the weakest..."
"Who's trying to get in your 'good books'? Delphi managed to ask in a calm but even tone. She wasn't going to encourage the yelling. She probably shouldn't have said what she had anyways. Just her simple question could continue to push him. That was not what she wanted.
David continued to shout, and Delphi stood tall. She most definitely was not afraid. She was the Ravenclaw Champion in the TriWizard Tournament for Merlin's sake. Hogwarts at night freaked her out. Death Eaters roaming Hogwarts at night was scary. But of course they would be, they knew spells, and had done things that Delphi couldn't possibly imagine. But she was not scared of the tall Hufflepuff. Though she would not win a duel with a Death Eater, she would certainly do damage in a duel with an angry student. She doubted it would get that far of course. But prepare for anything, right? And tended to over think things. A small part of her wanted to turn and walk away from the situation. Again, she recognized the danger in turning your back on an angry Wizard that you are not familiar with. She continued to listen to him yell and she couldn't help but wonder if Theodore or one of the Professor's patrolling the corridors would soon come running towards the source of the yelling.
....no I'm not the weakest and back there with Theodore I could have broken his ankle but I didn't. I'm Done"
Delphi let out a small breath as the boy finished, nodded and turned his back on her.
'That was somewhat anticlimactic.' She thought to herself in some amusement. Not that Delphi was complaining. But for some reason she had foreseen the possible raising of a hand, or swish of a wand. She was pleasantly surprised that the Hufflepuff had managed to walk away from the situation without becoming violent, as his voice had seemed to suggest.
Delphi turned towards the boys back.
"I will never follow a ghost again. Myrtle always gets me into bad situations. Never again." She sighed and turned to head back towards her Commom Room. It wasn't too far, and she would definitely be telling Rhye and Ophelia what had happened.
On her way back to her Common Room Delphi passed Theodore.
"I don't need to hear it, Theodore." Delphi said before he could say something to her first.

David continued walking away from Delphi and with each step he felt more and more guilty so much to the point that he almost cried with the guilt, he didn't want anyone to feel bad because of him and from her tone with Theodore....
"I don't need to hear it, Theodore"
...he had obviously annoyed her, but luckily he wasn't violent at least not to women and that was always a good move. A person who hits women or even disliked them, a misogynist, deserved to be put in human prison or even Azkaban if it became too serious because a woman gave birth to you so show some respect! Walking down the stairs to the basement for which the Hufflepuff domitory laid, David gave a large sigh and decided that he would have to apologise for his act.
"Accio quill and paper"
As if by magic the two items flew towards him for which he caught without much trouble at all. He then begun to write on the paper a message for Delphi's eyes only:
"To Delphi, I'm sorry for my recent actions and I can only blame Theodore for making my annoyed but that still isn't an excuse. Would you like to meet up tomorrow in the library and we could sort it out? Maybe we could even go to Hogsmeade for a drink, on me obviously! Yours Sincerely The tall Hufflepuff who blew his top better known as David Osler"
David put down the magical quill and slowly folded the paper into a paper aeroplane, for which he threw after uttering a few words to it. If the spell was done correctly then Delphi would hopefully either screw up the message or reply, at least David tried right?

It took Delphi four tries to correctly answer the Eagle's riddle at the top of the spiral staircase. You couldn't enter the Common Room without answering the riddle correctly. She had been so angry, upset, and flustered about the whole situation that her mind wouldn't allow her to think straight in order to give the riddle much thought. She finally managed to get it out, the answer was so obvious once she had calmed down enough, and she stomped up to her dormitory loudly after a quick chat with Rhye, whom she had found awake and reading the French book his girlfriend Ophelia had given to him.
Delphi angrily prepared for bed, and once finally settled in, she heard something wisp through the air, but before she could sit up to find the source, something smacked into her head. She jumped with a yelp and looked down to see paper laying in her lap. Her eyebrows knit together and she pulled it open. The note read:
"To Delphi, I'm sorry for my recent actions and I can only blame Theodore for making my annoyed but that still isn't an excuse. Would you like to meet up tomorrow in the library and we could sort it out? Maybe we could even go to Hogsmeade for a drink, on me obviously! Yours Sincerely The tall Hufflepuff who blew his top better known as David Osler"
Delphi sat there, staring at the paper. What was he, David, getting at? He had yelled at her. Yelled! All she had done was defended him, no, she hadn't defended him when he was standing there, but she wasn't sure if he would be angry for defending him or not. There were men out there who were like this.
She yawned and rubbed her eye fiercely. She would need to get it checked out she feared. It burned terribly, and it itched incredibly.
She was glad the Hufflepuff, David, had at least been polite enough to apologize, but she still wasn't sure. There was no harm in a trip to the Library. She did need to study for an Ancient Runes test. Delphi bounced out of her bed and over to her workstation. She pulled out a quill and parchment and began to write.
"David, I appreciate the apology. I hope you managed to get it all out of your system, because next time I simply won't stand there and take it. I respect myself too much to allow myself to be spoken to in a way I do not reserve. However, I am not totally oblivious, and it is quite obvious to me that you must have a lot going on for you, and you needed that release. I do hope things improve for you. I'll be in the Library tomorrow during lunch in order to study for an Ancient Runes test. I have no qualms against you joining me. I hope you don't mind if my friend tags along. I look forward to officially meeting you.
Best of Wishes, Emma."
Delphi read over the letter. She had signed it with the name she preferred to go by. She hoped he would know it was her.
She crumpled the paper into a ball, brought it close to her lips, and muttered a vanishing spell over it. If done correctly, the letter would appear on the Hufflepuff boy's bedside table. Delphi sighed and returned to her bed.

By this time David had crawled into bed after carefully manoeuvring his way through the busy Hufflepuff common room. At this time someone had let off a few dung bombs and everyone was panicking, except for David as he was on a mission. A mission....for bed!
Crawling into bed David gave a little whine, his knees were aching due to the journey back from the second floor which was a long journey. Leaning his book onto his stomach he begun to read it until something to his left caught the corner of his eye.
A little bit of fear filled his mind worrying that it might be fatal but infact it was far from it. It was a letter which David proceeded to open it brought a smile to has face as he begun reading it:
"Accio paper...."
A quill was already present at the side of his bed which is always there but the paper followed from beneath his bed before landing on his book. David removed the book and placed it gently on the floor, so as not to get ink on it. He then begun to write:
"To Emma, Sorry for calling you Delphi it will not happen again. I just can't do write for doing wrong tonight eh? Only kidding. Thanks for replying as I was incredibly rude for shouting at you and you are a person of higher moral fibre than I just for replying. Thank You. I don't have a lot going against me it's just years of bullying finally made me blow my top, though it shouldn't have been done to you. I would love to join you tomorrow and your friend as well. Well, as long as it isn't Theodore, but if it is then a shall keep my calm. Have a good nights sleep. Yours Sincerely, David, the very sorry Hufflepuff idiot"
David once again whispered a few words to the paper plane containing his heart-felt feelings and it flew towards the pretty Ravenclaw who was probably also sitting in bed who went by the name Emma, not Delphi as previously thought...
He rolled over onto his stomach in the bed and closed his eyes. Strangely David had actually accomplished something this day and under his breath he whispered two words: "Goodnight Emma"
