Sarah had hoped that all students were in their common rooms to go to the forbidden forest and gather ingredients. She had decided not to seek medicinal potions or ointments to Professor Snape. She would make potions and creams that are needed in nursing to avoid having to request them and not have to bother him, he was now a busy man.
Why had she never confessed her feelings before? As a student?, Although she was an insignificant brat!. She should have been honest with him ...
All this was what she thought while preparing a small leather bag, filled with small glass bottles, empty the ingredients to take her pick. Along with the bottles had bent a little scroll with all the herbs, roots and other ingredients she needed. In the larder of nursing shortages had potions to reduce fever, antiseptic ointment and anti-inflammatory. She would gather the ingredients needed and the next day during free time prepare all that nursing needed.
She had taken off her clothes behind a screen and had chosen to wear comfortable clothes. Black jeans, white tank top one tied to the bust, a leather jacket and boots comfortable to move it through the woods. Sarah before leaving the infirmary zipped the leather jacket against the cold, she tied the portfolio to his slender waist and hid the wand inside her jacket. She was ready to leave.

Severus had some free time. Which was a very odd thing as of late. He walked through the hallways slowly enjoying the silence. The students were in their classes and Severus knew he had almost an hour before young bodies filled the hallways with loud noise and laughter. Severus sighed as he paused at one of the large arched windows and looked outside. It was a sunny yet chilled day. There was a breeze in the air and the leaves of the trees danced. Severus liked days like these. He preferred the colder days to the hotter ones.
Severus sighed. He continued on now. He moved through the castle and then stepped outside. Lately, with the impending movements involving Voldemort, Severus had been thinking about his life. His failure and his successes. Severus had had many of both. He crossed the grass now glancing over the lake. Severus Had always loved this school. Not so much all the people that had been here. But two of them. And now, both were gone. People saw Severus as a cruel man. He was a victim. Severus had been through so much. He was a misunderstood man but did nothing to change peoples view of himself. He was who they wanted to believe he was.

She came out of nursing fast paced before she was light and some teachers to stop her. Equipped with a small bag tied around the waist. Sarah was determined to go to the Forbidden Forest in search of ingredients for medicinal potions and ointments for nursing.
She kept the fast step, without stopping, thankful that there was nobody in the corridor and that these were deserted, with no one. All students were in class. It was the right time. Sarah thought she would not see him but she was very wrong. In addition to that meeting had to be done sooner or later. It was inevitable.
Sarah stopped half way when she twisted to the right. She almost fell when she saw the tall dark figure of Professor Snape in front of her. But she fell to the ground, she tripped over her own feet and fell sitting. Sarah winced said ... "Damn! that hit!. Her eyes a different color, Snape looked a little scared. She could not speak.

Severus turned at the comotion to find the woman on the ground. Of course he knew who she was. I had hired her after all. The coldness in him wanted to laugh at her during her embarrassing moment. However, the gentleman in him caused Severus to step towards her now.
He offered one long fingered pale hand down to her. "Are you alright Miss. Hollander?" He asked in his soft voice. Severus lifted her to her feet slowly. As soon as she was steady on her feet, Severus released her. He saw the containers attached to her waist and looked at them for a short moment. "Where are you off to Madame?" He asked her.
Severus was a little interested but even more a little worried that she may be planning on breaking school rules. She may not be a professor but it still would not look good to have the staff breaking rules. Severus was not one for turning the blind eye for anyone except for those in his own house. He waited for her to speak now. His dark eyes on her face.

Sarah did not wait that Professor Snape would help. She accepted his pale hand rose quickly. She looked into his eyes intently. She tried to swallow, she got nervous, she took a step backwards. She looked down slightly. "Thank you Professor Snape. Yes, yes, I'm fine". She thanked him for his help smiling shyly. "But ... you have recognized me?". Asked a little shocked. Her voice shook a little thinking that he had not forgotten. "I go to the forbidden forest, Professor Snape. I need some ingredients for potions fever" .She said when he noticed that she had containers tied at the waist.
Sarah's eyes slid over his body that was big and strong those hidden by black clothes. His appearance could be scary for students, but for her, no. For Sarah was the opposite. "Can you want to come with me, Professor Snape?". She asked. "I wish you you would, please. You could help in the search for the ingredients I need. When I was your student, I saw you enter the forbidden forest and out with many ingredients" She looked into his eyes when his dark eyes did well.

Severus was not blind to the way her eyes moved over him. It was not the first woman who looked at him like that and Severus was sure that it would not be the last. "But ... you have recognized me?" She had asked him and Severus quickly tried to place her. His mind said he had taught her but Severus was not sure. "I go to the forbidden forest, Professor Snape. I need some ingredients for potions fever" She added. Severus nodded he had ingredients for such a potion in his office but could understand her wanting to have them fresh.
"Can you want to come with me, Professor Snape? I wish you you would, please. You could help in the search for the ingredients I need. When I was your student, I saw you enter the forbidden forest and out with many ingredients" Ah..so she was his student. Severus stood there for a moment longer and then gave a small smile.
"Of course." He told her now. He held out an arm in the classic fashion for her to take. Severus did not mind. After all, as it had been said, he was a gentleman at heart. He led the way towards the forest. Severus was not know for talking about common things such as the weather. So he was silent for the most part. As they reached the woods however he did ask. "What brought you back to the school Miss Hollander?" He was curious.

"I know that you make potions and ointments for nursing wing, Professor Snape, but I did not want to bother you. You, as head of the school must be very busy." She said quietly, hesitated a moment to take his arm. It's a little confused but she did not hesitate to grab his arm. She could even feel the muscle tighten. She blushed slightly and lowered her head slightly so he could not see.
He was a gentleman with her and both of them went outside the castle to go to the forbidden forest. It was dusk, there was no still danger in the forest. Furthermore he knew very well in and out of the no problems.
"Thank you Professor Snape". Said softly. They were the only ones which had around the castle and no one saw as they entered the forbidden forest. Soon the jungle swallowed them. "I missed a lot of my home and Hogwarts. Five years ago my husband died and I needed to come back. I am very happy because at least I know someone, I know you. For me it is enough, Professor Snape"

Severus listened to her voice more then her words as she spoke. "I am busy constantly." He told her in confirmation. "There is always more for me to do each day." When she thanked him, Severus nodded his head slightly. He was not very good with receiving gratitude.
He walked with her into the forest wondering what type of ingredients she was looking for. He did not know how far into the forest she intended to go. Severus was weary of the creatures living here.
"I missed a lot of my home and Hogwarts." She said answering his question. "Five years ago my husband died and I needed to come back. I am very happy because at least I know someone, I know you. For me it is enough, Professor Snape" Severus was taken back slightly. He turned his head to watch her silently for a long moment.
When Severus spoke, his voice was low and almost a caress. "My deepest sympathy and condolences for the lack of your husband." He told her now. "I am not one to take too much comfort in Madame." He added. "It is not a wise choice nor is it safe." Severus was only speaking the truth however dismal as it may be.

When she heard that he was busy, she felt a little guilty being told that with her. "Professor Snape, I should not ask you to come with me for herbal medicines in the forbidden forest. I do not want to take your time to you is very valuable." She said as she grabbed his arm, looked to the ground without daring to look at him. They were his eyes. Yes. His eyes were the cause of such shame, such shyness.
Upon entering the forbidden forest, she admitted on the floor of a great oak that may have had thousands of years, ginger and verbena. Both plants for fever and flu and colds. Sarah let go of his strong arm and quickly went to pick up some roots and leaves of each plant to keep them in special containers that she had tied around the waist. Sarah cut everything with extreme care, using a very sharp small knife. She kept everything very carefully and looked at Snape stared after hearing his reply, intense look and a voice like a caress.
"I accept your condolences, Professor Snape, thank you very much." Replied, blushing a little. "Now what I have to do is work, I enjoy being back home and forget the past to look forward. Ehmm, a question, please, do you know where an elder Here?. I need flowers for elder d infusion is a good treatment for respiratory diseases. "Sarah smiled, blushing every time she looked at the man with black clothes.

Severus ignored her apologies about coming here. He had not minded in the least and had meant to indicate that he had. He watched her as she bent to collect ingredients. He was a man after all and he rather liked the position she was in right now. Severus cleared his throat and looked away. "I accept your condolences, Professor Snape, thank you very much." She told him and Severus looked back at her and nodded softly.
He too of course knew what it felt like to love and loose. Even if the love was not returned. It always hurt but it got better over time. "Now," She said bringing him back from his thoughts about Lily and Mandy. "What I have to do is work, I enjoy being back home and forget the past to look forward. Ehmm, a question, please, do you know where an elder Here?. I need flowers for elder d infusion is a good treatment for respiratory diseases. "
Severus saw her blush and felt that it was a lovely look on her. Severus nodded again. "An elder tree?" He repeated. Yes they had an elder tree. He offered his arm once more. Once they were moving along again, Severus glanced down at her. Such a lovely woman. He felt a mans desire for her but Severus felt in his heart that he could never love a woman again. It was too hard for his cold heart and too dangerous. When they reached the tree, Severus being taller, plucked the best flowers for the potion.

Sarah picked up the roots for infusions Fever carefully and deposited in the containers. She was a little nervous because he was behind her and he saw what she was doing. Sarah was aware of the way that he was watching her. The way in which a man watching a woman.
When she finished, she got up and as I walked towards him, she kept the knife in her leather bag. Sarah asked about whether the forbidden forest had an elder tree. "Can you guide me, please?". She took his arm, smiled shy. She grabbed him approaching without being bold.
Along the way, she was silent, saying nothing, the reason is that she was intimidated and embarrassed.
Sarah wanted to pick some flowers from the elder tree, while he did the same. The downside is that she was lower than him and produced her slip, and fall ... but this time above him. Sarah wanted to keep the balance but it was impossible, she fell on him at the foot of the elder tree She felt no pain because it fell on his chest found it hard and strong, the warmth of his body was wonderful. Her hands were placed on his chest ... "Ouch!"

Severus watched out of the corner of his eye as she climbed the elder tree. There was really no need for her to get flowers on her own. He could gather them for her. Severus had picked quite a few when he heard the creak of wood. He looked up just in time to watch her slip and then her footing was gone and she was falling towards him.
Severus dropped the flowers that were in his hands and tried to catch her. But as strong as he was, Severus was not able to catch her and stay on his feet. She hit him hard and Severus grunted softly as his legs gave out and he fell back. His back hit the ground and Severus let out a snarl. That hurt. She was not very heavy but the weight of her as she suddenly landed on top of him had knocked the air from his lungs.
Severus lay there for a short moment. He looked up at her and then asked "Are you hurt?" His breath had come back and he was breathing softly. This was an odd situation for him. He could feel all of her against his body. Her breasts against his lower chest and her hips against his.
Severus did not want to move her. He liked feeling her like this but what type of example would that set any any students that may wonder by. Not that they should be in the forest. They would find themselves in detention quite quickly. Severus lifted one hand and placed it on the back of her head feeling the soft hair before running his hand down her back to rest just above the swell of her rear.

"Oh, my god! Are you right, Professor Snape?". She was worried about the fall because she had fallen over in a sharp and abrupt way. This was the second time she fell and did not want him to think she was very clumsy. The cause was him, Snape was the reason why she is nervous.
Sarah looked at Snape with intensity, worried that he was in pain for that coup. She was more concerned when she heard his groan. If it had hurt and all because of her.
"Forgive me, please Severus". This was the first time she called him by name. But she was relieved when he asked her about her condition. "I'm fine. Thank you, I'm OK." Said as she looked at him with eyes of different colors, expressing to him all the love she felt for him. Sarah's small hands were still on his chest, hard and strong. She felt a chill that ran through her spine when he placed his hand on her hair, her back up to the top of her buttocks.
The touch of his strong hands made her feel another chill and prevent her lips come out a soft moan. The heartbeat accelerated Sarah's increasingly ..

Severus did not comment when she addressed him by his given name. The moan however, he could not ignore. Severus' dark eyes closed slightly at the sound. If was something that he had not heard in so long. Not directed towards him at least. It cased a twitch in his hips and Severus jerked slightly. This was not right. She was a staff member at the school. He was headmaster... It was wrong. He could...his mind was grasping at straws. Severus sat up now. The motion of his body pushed her back as well so that when he was sitting, she sat in his lap.
"I can not...I can not do this..." Severus' face showed the sadness and agony over what he was saying even though he did not mean for himself to be so transparent. He guided her to her feet now and then stood himself. It hurt him to say what he was going to say. "I can't love you. Not the way you want me too. My heart is dead to love. It has been broken too many times. I'm sorry..."
He did not move away from her however. He did not want to move away. Severus wished that his words were lies. But he could not treat her the way she deserved to be treated. He was a monster nothing more. He looked away from her now. Severus could not stand there and watch her pain. He did love her. But was afraid to allow himself the privileged. He could not. She would leave like the others. Severus was not worthy in his own mind. He was destined to be alone.

Snape when he sat, she was also on his lap. She grabbed his neck to keep from falling or losing balance. She stared at him, his black eyes were beautiful, deep, brilliant. And if she was not wrong, full of emotions. Only when she heard of his own that he could not do this. Sarah's heart broke into pieces and felt her eyes filled with tears. So transparent was it like for him to know what she felt?.
She stood to hear his words out of his mouth like sharp daggers. He could not love her, his heart had been broken numerous times. He had not been the only one who had suffered for love, she had done well for many years and the death of her husband.
"I do not have to say anything more, Snape." She shook her head several times while backing. She could not be there, too much pain ...
Sarah ran out of there without looking back. She decided to leave Hogwarts and take the job in St. Mungo. It had been an error return.
