Elena Sinclair had two great loves in her life: playing her guitar and Herbology. This was her free bell and she planned to use it doing one of the things she absolutely loved doing. In past years, she had gone to the great hall with mates, tuned her guitar or went to study in the library. Elena Sinclair made her way out to the greenhouse, one of her favorite places in the whole school. Ever since Elena was a little girl, she loved being around plants and tending to them. The feeling of dirt under ones nails could not be matched. She always killed her plants as a child but hey, it was just a hobby. Herbology was the one thing that kept her sane while her former music teacher in America held her prisoner. She was not going to think about that now. Elena dug around in her mind for something to keep her from slipping back to that and making herself frightened of her own shadow again. She refused to let that happen.
As Elena walked, small scents and sounds danced their way through her senses. The warm September sunshine crossed over her lightly tanned legs, her face and the dark brown ponytail perched in the middle of her head. The scent of the grass on the lawns mixed together with the scent of the salty smell coming off the lake. She could still hear some of the songbirds that did not leave yet chirping out their songs to the students who were mobile. It all brought a smile to Elena’s lips.
She waited for the Herbology teacher to leave the greenhouse before going in. Students were not allowed in there unless a staff member was in there with them. Her cat like hazel eyes stayed on his retreating back until he was gone and she entered before the door could swing closed. Elena tied her robes around her waist to avoid a sweaty situation. Elena kept her bag with her to avoid giving off any hint someone was in there. She had to stir clear of the windows, lest he return and bust her. Let us not do that shall we? She cupped her hands around one of the blue flowers growing from a bush and sighed happily.

Dinner time, Lucas was starving. It had been a long and trying day. Everyone knew that Lucas' temper was not his strong suit. When the final class ended, Lucas sighed with relief at the fact that he had not killed anyone. He was heading up the hill towards the castle. Was halfway there when Lucas suddenly remembered the report he owed the Headmaster. He was already two days late on it and now with his stomach rummbleing and a sigh, Lucas turned back and made his way back down the grassy hill.
The air was crisp with the sun setting. His black cloak was open and the bottom rippled as he walked. He was better now since Hall was gone. The Dark Lord had pulled her out of Hogwarts and Lucas was happy for it. He actually smiled more now and his blue eyes were more sure. Reaching the Greenhouses, Lucas moved between the glass houses moving back to his office in Greenhouse 3. He slowed down as he moved over the stone pathways. All around him there were empty pots and plants.
Lucas took his wand to open Greenhouse 3 "Alohamora." He said softly but nothing happened. Lucas paused and looked from his wand to the door. He cast the spell again to have the same results. Lucas shrugged. He was not too worried about it. Maybe his wand needed to be looked at. Olivander was in the basement of Malfoy Manor. He could have the wand checked this weekend. He reached out and opened the door by hand. He stepped inside and then passed as his eyes fell on a student. "What is the meaning of this?" He asked n a low voice.

The jiggling of the door handle and squeaking of the door itself made Elena's head jerk up right. Crap, the teacher was back from dinner. She wanted to move out of his line of vision but her feet were cemented on the floor. Elena perked up her head and locked her eyes with his. The guy looked as if he was on the up climb from hell. Something about a Slytherin girl was going through her mind. Elena didn't keep up on other peoples business that wasn't hers or her mates. "What is the meaning of this?" He asked her. For a brief second, Elena just stood there. Her mind blanked. Just don't stand there like a moron, Sinclair. Work your charm
Elena flicked some dark brown hairs from her face, letting one of her trade mark charming smiles shimmer through. Her hands found her hips and her thumbs hooked into the loops on her jean caprices as she started to speak. This was a relaxing thing with Miss Sinclair. " Just enjoying the flowers,Professore. " She replied back to him. Elena tilted her head slightly. " I hope that's not a problem. "

Lucas was silent as she seemed to collect herself. He watched as she turned to look at him. " Just enjoying the flowers,Professor. " She told him. It was obvious that she was trying to play herself off as being aloof and relaxed. He was not falling for it. " I hope that's not a problem. " Lucas was silent for a moment and then spoke. "I do believe that there is a rule about being in her when there is not a class or you do not have permission. And I do not recall giving permission to anyone let alone you."
Lucas' voice was calm and even. He was not upset that she had broken in. Really, he couldn't care less about it. Lucas stepped closer now. His steps were slow and casual. His eyes moved over the plants and supplies as he passed them. . Lucas was just making sure that everything was as it should be.
He hated when students broke things or stole from the greenhouses. It only meant really that there would be more paperwork for him to do. Lucas did not look forward to that. His eyes found her once more. "So what should I do with a trespassing student? Hmm?" Lucas asked. The humor was clear in his voice. He was not angry, just curious. It was not everyday that young females ventured down here alone. Lucas had too much of a reputation.

He wasn't falling for her charms. Crap. Time to think of something else. Elena watched his steps closely. Her eyes followed his as he scanned the tables for anything stolen or broken. As if. She couldn't do that if she put her mind to it. Did she really look like some kind of thief? Ouch. He answered her question after being oddly quiet for a while. "I do believe that there is a rule about being in her when there is not a class or you do not have permission. And I do not recall giving permission to anyone let alone you." He said. She had to agree with him there. His voice-calm. It made her start to wonder what was going through his head. Knowing a teacher, it was her detention slip. He didn't show any sign of being upset at her. Elena could count that as a good sign but past events had taught her never to take anything to face value.
He took another step towards her and another sweep around the greenhouse. Now she felt hurt. It was a short lived pang. She kept her shoulders back and squared. "So what should I do with a trespassing student? Hmm?" Professor Gotti asked. Humor was ringing loud and clear in his voice. Her charcoal lashes fluttered a couple times as she thought of something to say. She moved closer to him. Her eyes never faltered from his. " Maybe you can let me off with a warning and not to do it again. Hmm? " The humor in her voice mimicked his own.

" Maybe you can let me off with a warning and not to do it again. Hmm? " She asked him and a smile filtered across his mouth before it was gone again. This girl interested him. He liked her personality. "And would you have learned your lesson if I did that?" He asked her. He was surprised when she moved closer to him. "Or would you do this exact same thing next time?"
He was constantly moving. Lucas was not going to harm this girl. He did not actually have any intention of touching her at all. If she touched him first, that would be another matter. Lucas had not forgotten the who ordeal with the student in the past. All the females here knew that he was a player. He enjoyed flirting and he liked younger girls. He was not a pedophile by any means however. Lucas gave a real smile now. He nodded and then said "Don't do it again." He was not in the mood to give the girl a detention.

She shook her head at his question. " No, sir, it will not happen again. " Elena said. Her lips curled into a smile. Elena's demeanor brightened. Yes, he was not going to give her a detention. At least this time. Knowing Elena, he would caught her in here again. She could not help herself sometimes. Unlike most students, she was one who preferred the company of plants to people. Plants never stabbed one in the back... Most of the time. Wizarding world plants were unpredictable. Look at the Devils Snare. Hopefully, charms or sheer dumb luck would work for her. Elena was running out of lucky breaks at this point. First was when she was kidnapped then it was breaking and entering into the green house and getting off virtually scot-free. Fate was smiling on Miss Sinclair.
Elena chuckled. " Of course, Professor. " She said. Her eyes never left him. She had heard about his rep with the girls. She stepped back for him to let him pass around the room.

" No, sir, it will not happen again. " She told him and Lucas watched as she smiled. Lucas did not believe her for a second. He knew that he should be harder on her but just did not feel like it. Being the big bad teacher right now just seemed like too much of a hassle. " Of course, Professor. " She added and Lucas smirked.
He stepped past her now and looked down at her as he did so. "So you were just enjoying the flowers..." Lucas said slowly now. "Is there a reason why you just didn't ask for permission to be here?" He was toying with her as he tried to decide what to do with the girl. Lucas hopped up onto a clear table and sat there watching her silently.

Elena snorted at his question. She breathed something in a fast Italian to herself. This guy did not have much luck with people giving him a straight up honest answer did he? What reason did Elena have to lie to him? She closed her brown eyes and combed a lock of her chocolate brown hair from her face before she answered him.
" Yeah, I was just looking at the flowers. Herbology has always been a love of mine." She said reopening her eyes. Elena cleared a spot on the table across from him and leaned against it. She ran her finger over a flower petal beside her and sighed. " I honestly wasn't planning on getting caught in here. " She said with a slight chuckle. Elena knew she had to be careful next time.

When she told him that she had not planned to get caught in here, Lucas did a mental 'Duh'. Of course she had not intended to get caught. Well unless she had wanted more than just detention but this girl did not much strike him as being a slut. Lucas watched as she got comfortable. He tilled his head slightly. Herbology is a interesting subject. Plants provide the world with so much and so few people appreciate them or even respect them.
Lucas looked around the greenhouse at the numerous large and small potted plants. The sun had set now and it was dim in the structure. Lots of shadows. Lucas used his wand to summon food to the greenhouse. He was hungry. The platter of cold food and a pitcher of butterbeer with two goblets appeared next to him. It was clear that it was not just for him. He poured the Butterbeer and then took one goblet and handed it across the aisle.

Elena wrapped her fingers around the goblet and sat back. Ringrazio il. Professor** " She said. Light blue nails drummed on the metal cup after she took a sip. Butterbeer wasn't her favorite, Elena was more a fire whiskey chick, but she wasn't going to be rude and decline the offer. She could still her childhood nanny's manners speech ringing in her ears as she sat there. The old woman's stern face flashed before her eyes. Elena sighed.
The greenhouse started to get colder as the sun was setting. She set the cup down and pulled her robes back around her shoulders. The hairs on the back of her neck were standing at attention. Goose flesh was crawling up and down her arms. He wasn't saying anything. Being busted in a green house without permission, by a teacher and he was just sitting there quiet. Maybe she had done something? " You okay in there? " She asked raising her eyebrows. (( **Thank you , Professor ))

" You okay in there? " She asked him and Lucas nodded his head slightly. He drank from his cup slowly. "Yes," He told her in a soft tone. Butterbeer was not his favorite either but it was the best bet with a student. "I was just thinking." Before I was sent...hired at this school, I would have never thought that I would become so interested in Herbology." He smiled a little. Really it did amaze him. With everything he had done in the past. The looting, the stealing, raping, murders... And now here he was teaching.
"Are you cold?" Lucas asked now. He had noticed the way she was sitting now. "Perhaps it is time to head back to the school for you. And for me to try and see if the house elves will put together a meal for me." He was sure that he had missed dinner by now. Lucas finished off the butterbeer in his cup and then slipped of the table. "Come along Miss Sinclair." He told the student. He gestured for her to go ahead. He would be sure to look the door.
