She gently hopped off the bed and strolled over to her very own washroom. Quickly readying herself for the day ahead of her, Daphne left her room, the dog hot on her heels. She headed for the Greengrass stables. She only had three personal horses. Though, there weren't many in there to start off with. Daphne entered the barn, it was clean, tidy. Just the way it was when she left for school, her dog still on her heels. A few horses nickered at the sound of the door opening, but only one stuck its head into the isle to see the visitor. Golden hair with a mane black as night; a bay horse with a small white spot on his fore head. The dainty Arabian horse looked to Daphne with its expressive eyes. A smile that not many people had witnessed lifted to Daphne's face. The horse's dished face seemed to almost lit up as he spotted Daphne. "Nakoma,'' The blond whispered the bay's name as she approached him. She placed a manicured hand upon the horse's soft nose and he nickered again. Horses always seemed to understand the eldest Greengrass girl, as she understood horses more than most people. But she preferred it that way. She left his stall and walked to the next one. A black Quarter horse stallion stood to the back of his stall, his large hindquarters towards Daphne. She couldn't reach him without entering the stall. But his eyes were shut and she decided to let him snooze. Moving down to the next taken stall, Daphne's deep blue eyes scanned across the golden body of her Palomino. The blond mane of the mare was long, yet unruly. Clearly no one had tried to tame it. But Daphne had not the patience to do so at the moment. "Barbie," She called out for the mare, who pricked her ears toward her and tilted her head to get a look off Daph, but did nothing else. Daphne left the barn, not feeling up for riding, she walked back to the manor she grew up in her whole life. It was passed down from the eldest Greengrass child to the next. It was soon be Daphne's next. She had to admit though, renovations where in order. She wrote that down in her mental checklist. Reaching the manor now, she strode for her room, quickly changed and headed for her favorite room; the music parlor. Reaching her destination, she opened the door and the Border collie dog ran in happily. Daph stood in the doorway a moment later. Her eyes were shut, a sense of happiness flooded her body as well. She shut the door behind her as she fully entered the room, though not to her knowledge, it did not shut completely. Sitting now on the piano bench, Daphne lifted the wooden key cover of the Grand Piano, revealing the slender black and white keys. She ran a pointer finger across them from left to right gently. She sighed ever-so softly. She felt at peace. She felt at home at the piano. Her fingers then began to run across the keys, swiftly they produced a sound; a song. Written only by the genius muggle Beethoven. Yes, Daphne Greengrass knew who Beethoven was. Her true enjoyment was music. Only a few knew. A few as in her family; or rather, her parents. Moonlight Sonata filled the parlor's air. Her eyes were shut softly, Daphne knew every note to the beautiful, yet depressing song. But a soft thud snapped her eyes opened. And caught the eyes of one she had been avoiding from for weeks. A flush of red marked Astoria's pale cheeks when the door closed with more noise than she'd intended. She'd always liked Daphne's music and some of her earliest memories were of sitting on the floor by the stool while her sister played. The sound still had the power to both calm and excite her, or to just amplify her emotions in general. She hadn't really been around her sister at a close proximity for what seemed like an age. Now, it was truly the music that had drawn her out of bed and down the cold steps. Astoria could never explain exactly why but every song Daphne played seemed to become her voice instead of just an instrument. It was like Astoria's own art and writing in that sense. Daphne had taught her to love music, even if she couldn't play it.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you." The words came out quieter and softer than Astoria had intended. She stood in the doorway awkwardly. It shouldn't have been this way. They had grown up together, after all. But words still seemed to come with a bit of difficulty. She knew that her sister had been avoiding her as much as possible lately. Asking why had not occurred to her because she assumed that Daphne had wanted to her own space like she usually did.
Astoria rubbed her eyes. She had been sleeping little, as she always had. Going to bed around two in the morning, or later, if she had too much energy and had to do something creative to burn it off. It didn't always do wonders.
A soft smile appeared on her lips as she looked down at Daphne's hands still resting on the keys, and then up to the blue eyes that so contrasted with the dark chocolate brown of her own. Light and dark, black to white, like piano ivory made out of irises. "You've always played that one well."

Daph stared up at her little sister for a moment or two before a slow, and very tiny smile lit up on her face. "Thanks," She replied and then broke the eye contact and then looked back to the keys of the piano, unsure of what to say next. Or rather if she had to say anything next. Sure, it was Daphne who was avoiding her blood sister, not the other way around. But still, there sat the eldest Greengrass sister: unusually silent. Astoria felt even more awkward now. It wasn't like Daphne not to say anything and the sense that she had intruded weighed even more heavily upon her. Perhaps her sister did not want her here. Should she go? But they were finally together and within communication distance. There was plenty to talk about. But Astoria wasn't always the talker, except for when she was in an exceptionally good mood. What to do...?
Astoria bit her lip. Her eyes dropped again. She debated sitting down on the floor beside her sister like the old days to just ease the tension or just leaving her in peace. Right now, she wasn't quite sure what Daphne would prefer.
"I— I can go, if you'd like." She half turned toward the door. Seeing Daphne at home in her natural element of music had been a refreshing sight from the outside world that seemed to be getting darker and darker lately. It was a beautiful distraction, at the very least. The smile made its way back across her lips. "It's just good to see you playing."
