, he found unbelieveable. But eventually, the class came to a close. Much too long in Adrian's eyes though. Sighing and running a hand through his touseled black hair, he patted his jean pockets to double check to make sure his wand was still there; it was. And so with a slight roll of his dark grey eyes, he stood up and followed the crowd out of the doors and into the hallway. Now Adrian Pucey was not one for large crowds of people. Even if they were all Slytherins, sometimes especially if they Slytherins. (Some were so irritable and a few were torable.) So he quickly broke off from the crowd, going the opposite way down the fourth floor corridor. He was clad in a black sports coat, t-shirt, and dark wash jeans. He prided himself in three small things: his hair, his body, and his sense of fashion. He didn't care that it was "girly" to enjoy shopping and dressing fashionably. But he had to look his best at all times. With his hands stuffed into his pockets, he rounded a corner and saw that the hallway was cleared all but for one person. A girl, he guessed about his age. She seemed lost as she was looking at a peice of parchment paper he assumed must've been her schedule or a map perhaps. Her back was towards him and he quickly noticed her long brown hair. Slipping on a small smirk upon his handsome face, he made his way over to her. And stopping just short of her personal bubble, he said in his deep British accent, "Lost, are we?" It was more of a rhetorical question, for he saw that she was clearly lost.[/ul]

Jewels had been doing alright. If you did not mention the dozens of times that she had been forced to stop and check the bloody map. Jewels snarled to herself and brushed her hair roughly back from her face. This was so stupid. She did not want to be in England and she did not want to be at this school. And she always got what she wanted. What had gone wrong this time? The Dark Lord was what had gone wrong. She loather the man but knew better to say so out loud. Her father would lecture her to no end.
Jewels was dressed in the school uniform of course. She was deceiving but she always followed the rules. Wear the uniform during classes. She had seen a few others not wearing uniforms but Jewels did not want any trouble this early in the game. Even so, the white blouse was a size too small so it hugged her curves. The skirt was rolled at the waist so it was a few inches shorter then meant to be. And her cloak was open. She wore black Mary Jane's with slight heels. She looked good and she knew it.
"Lost, are we?" She suddenly heard and Jewels gasped softly. She had not heard anyone approach. She turned now slowly and looked up at the student. Jewels quickly took in what he was wearing. She arched an eyebrow in approval. He was handsome too. But in a way that made her pause. A mature handsome, not a pretty boy. She smirked slightly now and straightened her back. "It would help if this school did not keep changing." She replied now. She motioned to the map. "What is the point of having a map if the staircases keep moving?"

Adrian heard her say as she pointed towards the parchment in her hands. "What is the point of having a map if the staircases keep moving?" Chuckling slightly, Adrian ran a hand through his hair. "One must be ten percent smarter than the object in which they are trying to use." He teased. Holding out his hand, the sixth year Slytherin said, "Adrian Pucey, pleased to meet you."[/ul]

"One must be ten percent smarter than the object in which they are trying to use." He told her and Jewles looked up at his surprised. Was that a crack on her mentality and intelligence? She stood there for a few seconds unsure what to say. Should she be angry or was he just joking? When he held out his hand and said "Adrian Pucey, pleased to meet you." Jewels smiled softly and placed her small hand in his. "Jewels Avery." She replied. "The pleasure is mine."
She glanced back at the map again and shook her head. "I am trying to get myself situated. Its not easy when every student I speak to either sneers at me if female or looks me over if male." She told him with a frown. She had taken her free period to try and find her way around and this was just getting frustrating. She shoved the map now into her bag with a growl.
"So..." She said to Adrian. "Is there anything fun to do in this school or are we just going to stand here looking at each other?" Yes she was forward and yes she said what was on her mind. So what if someone took offense.

He said simply. "So... is there anything fun to do in this school or are we just going to stand here looking at each other?" Adrian heard the girl say smartly. Chuckling to himself, Adrian slipped his infamous smirk and held out his right arm and waited for her to take it.[/ul]

When he said that he could not imagine any guy overlooking him, Jewles gave a smile. She watched as he checked her out. She felt the same way about him but was not about to tell him that. His chuckle at her comment made her smile grow. So he had a sense of humor... that was always a good thing. He offered his arm in a gentlemanly fashion and Jewles slipped her arm between his ribs and upper arm before draping her own arm over his forearm. "I see you know how to treat a lady." She told him now.
She was silent for a few moments as they began walking. Jewels had no idea where they were going but that was nothing new lately. She looked up at him as they walked. "So Adrian," She said softly. "What is there to do here? What do you do for fun?" There were a few other students in the halls that looked their way as the two moved together. Jewles held her head high as always. She had always been treated like a Princess and thought of herself in that way. That was not going to change now.

"I see you know how to treat a lady." Adrian heard Jewels say after she slipped her arm in his. Giving her a small smirk, he looked over to her."Any pureblood man with the right upbringing does," He bragged. Adrian didn't know this girl too much, but he knew she was of pureblood. No Avery would go for anyless. Nor any Pucey. He knew quality when he saw it. "So Adrian, what is there to do here? What do you do for fun?" She said in a mystical voice no much louder than a whisper. Running his free hand through his hair, he bit the inside of his cheek, thinking.
"I suppose that depends on what you think is fun," He shrugged, being honest. He walked down the fourth floor corridor still. Adrian assumed that classes were being let out because more people showed up in the halls. He aslo noticed that most of them were looking their way. No doubt in wonder in who she was and drooling over her, or Adrian. He was used to the looks, if Jewels was or not, he was not sure. "What house are you in?" He asked, sort of out of the blue. Curiousity was sort of a trait of Adrian's.
He continued to lead the brunette beside him around Hogwarts, but now they were walking down the ever-changing and moving staircases. Easily making their way (thanks to Adrian) to the floor ground he thought of taking her to the courtyard. It was midafternoon but he wasn't hungry at all. Usually Adrian was the kind of guy who had to eat when his stomach told him so. And usually he had a set schedule. This unplanned meeting was a kink in his schedule, but he didn't mind whatsoever.

"Any pure blood man with the right upbringing does," He told her and Jewles said nothing in reply. Though it was her experience that many pure bloods did not in fact know how to treat a lady. Jewels thought for a moment that he was not going to answer her question. She was silent. She could give him a bit more time. "I suppose that depends on what you think is fun," He finally told her and Jewles nodded.
She followed at his side as they moved along. It was nice to have someone to show her around. Much more enjoyable then getting lost repeatedly. "What house are you in?" He asked her now drawing her thoughts back to him. Jewles looked up at the boy. House? She hesitated trying to remember the name. "Ravenclaw." She told him. Jewels was still too new here to realize the rivalry some of the houses had with each other. She did not realize that had she been sorted into Gryffindor, she would not be walking her with him right now.
"What house are you in?" She asked in return. when they reached the main floor and then the large foyer from which the the Great Hall could be entered. She could smell the food that had been set out for lunch but was not very hungry. Her head turned as the double doors to outside opened with a creak. Jewels looked back to Adrian. "Are you hungry?" She asked him. "Or would you like to go outside?" He had been kind enough to show her this much so she would do what he wanted. Jewles was not quite sure what she felt for this place just yet. It was still too new.

He said shortly and mentally "brushed his shoulder off." Adrian was proud to be in Slytherin. His family had been in Slytherin ever since Hogwarts had opened. He wasn't going to be the one who broke that tradition. In Adrian's opinion, Ravenclaw was probably the second best house one could be sorted in. Followed by Hufflepuff then Gryffindor. Though, he did think that some of the qualities of Gryffindors were something to be proud of. Because they had bravery, as where the Hufflepuffs did not. So he guessed they could be evened out. The two reached the ground floor and she had asked Adrian whether he was hungry or not. Placing a hand on his stomach for a brief moment, he answered, "No, you?" He then led the way out of the large front doors of Hogwarts onto the courtyard. There weren't too many people outside because it was lunch time. But Adrian wouldn't want it any other way. "So why haven't I ever seen you at Hogwarts before?" He then asked Jewels as he led her to a nearby stone bench and took a seat on it. Patting the spot next to him, he invited the beautiful girl to sit besides him.[/ul]

Jewels nodded when he said that he was in Slytherin. It was not a big deal for her. It would be once she came to realize what type of people were in Slytherin. There was not a which or wizard in Slytherin that did not go bad. When Jewles asked about eating, he replied "No, you?" and then did not give her a chance to reply before leading her outside. She was a little put off by that. Even though she was not hungry, there was no man that decided anything for her.
She watched as he took her arm from her and then sat. At his question, Jewels shrugged and then said "I've just moved here from America. I have only been here for a few days." She moved slowly to the bench and sat beside him and tucked her feet under the bench. "That is why I have to follow the map. I am still trying to find my way. This school is much bigger that the one I used to go to." Jewles glanced around.
It was true that this school was bigger. But it was prettier as well. Jewles liked the lake and the mountains. She liked the forest as well but was told it was out of bounds. She was very much a nature person. Jewels reached up to the tangle of vines and flowers behind her head and plucked a pink flower with long delicate fingers. She brought to her nose and sniffed softly. So sweet.

He threw out there, it wasn't something Adrian would have normally talked about to someone, but he didn't know what else to say. Adrian did not look at the girl, but saw that she had picked a small flower to smell it. He realized he was bored. But whether it was just because of the setting of the school or from the attractive girl besides him. She looked intriging at first, but she wasn't as talkitive (he guessed the word was) as most girls Adrian was used to. He was used to girls who tried to take control of the conversation, not one who had nothing to say. Perhaps, he figured, it was because Jewels had just met him. But still, it left Adrian short ended on the topic of conversation stick.[/ul]

She was boring him. Jewles was sure of it. He was not being rude but he was seeming to loose interest. Jewles sat there for a moment unsure of what to do. She was new here! She didn't know what to talk about. She never had this problem back at her old school. "How do you like England so far?" He asked her and Jewles was silent for a long moments before she answered.
"It is very pretty here. The country is much greener than America. I like all of the nature and the open space. I'd like to see London still. Maybe this weekend." She looked down for a moment. The doors opened again ad Jewles looked towards the sound to see another group of students come out. They were Slytherin's as well judging by their uniform. The one that seemed to be in the center was a tall male with white blond hair.
He glanced at Jewles and then Adrian and nodded before smiling at Jewles. She smiled back slightly. "I can't wait for the weekend." Jewles added as she watched the group walk on. "I want to see Hogsmead as well. I only had a glimpse of it as I came to school. Are you going into town this weekend?" She felt a little odd going on and on but Jewles was trying to relax and fall back into her old ways

Adrian thought. "Wanna go to London?" He asked, if she said no, Adrian knew he wouldn't be hurt, he'd find something else to do; someone else to hang out with.[/ul]

Jewels was about ready to give up on this conversation if he did not say something soon. She was starting to wonder if he was even going to answer her when he spoke. "Wanna go to London?" He asked her and Jewels looked at him with a small smile.
"I'd love to." She replied. "Thank you." She thought for a moment. "There is so much there that I'd like to see." Jewels suddenly felt giddy and excited. She did not know how her father would take to her leaving the school and going to London with Adrian. But what he didn't know would not hurt him.
Jewles moved a little closer to Adrian now so that her leg touched his. "So Adrian," She said softly. "Tell me about you." She looked up at him. "What do you like to do? What do you think of the school? What are the professors like here...and the courses." She just wanted to get him talking. She wanted to get to know him better.

He asked out of pure curiousity. Adrian didn't doubt that she wondered how they were supposed to get to London during the school year, but, Adrian had his ways. Oh yes he did. Adrian then heard Jewels turn the converstation onto him, asking what he liked to do and junk. Adrian usually never talked about himself to girls, usually kept the convo on the girls, 'cause that's what they typically wanted to talk about. But Adrian could already tell, Jewels wasn't just some girl. Something was off about her (and not in a bad way) and it was not her accent. Mr. Pucey thought deeply yet quickly. "Well, I have two siblings. Um, I like to run. Clears my mind. I like Quidditch..." He trailed off, not able to think of other things. "Some of the professors are ridculous, as are their courses." He played it safe. Because though he did go to Hogwarts for six years he never paid much attention to either. How he passed from year to year was honestly a mystery to the sixth year Slytherin now that he looked back on it.[/ul]
