Christina had had a busy couple of weeks, especially with Crispin. She had tried to convince him that she was his and only his and that she would not leave him, for anything in the world. She shoved that thought in the back of her mind to get her mind in order for the first Ancient Runes lesson of the year. She walked into her classroom, lit some candles along the wall for some light and took out her wand.
She waved her wand along the front of the blackboard and the following appeared:
Welcome to Ancient Runes!
I am Professor Lockwood!
Please start by copying this down:
Number meanings of Ancient Runes
Demiguise: the creature's invisibility abilities represents "0".
Unicorn: the creature's single horn represents "1".
Graphorn: the creature's dual horns represent "2".
Runespoor: the triple-headed creature represents "3".
Fwooper: the creature comprised of four different colours in feathers represents "4".
Quintaped: the five legs of the creature represents "5".
Salamander: the maximum hours of the creature's ability to survive out of fire and the amount of legs most said creatures have represents "6".
Unknown: due to the magically powerful number still being shrouded in mysteries, the unknown symbol represents "7".
Acromantula: the eight-eyed creature represents "8".
Hydra: the nine-headed creature represents "9".
Christina then went to her desk and sat down and awaited for her students to arrive.

Ophelia glided into Ancient Runes with a spring in her step. Besides Potions and Herbology, the two classes who would help her most with becoming a Healer, Ancient Runes was one of her favorites subjects. This was her first year here at Hogwarts and she had noticed already that the classes here were more interesting then that classes at her American school.
She looked around the classroom and noticed it was empty except for the teacher. Ophelia got halfway to the front of the room, trying to decide rather or not she wanted to sit near the front, or near the back. The front would make a good impression, but it would also mean everyone sitting behind her, and that made her terribly uncomfortable. 'The back it was then.'
Ophelia sighed audibly and turned on her heals to head to find a spot in the back of the class. She didn't want to make too terrible of an impression, so she made sure to sit in the center of the back so that it didn't look like she was trying to go undetected. She pulled her parchment and quill out and began copying what was on the board.

Katniss skipped along the corridor and on her way towards the Ancient Runes classroom. She love Ancient Runes; it was her favorite class after Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures and Charms. When she arrived she saw the professor sitting at her desk awaiting for students to arrive. She looked around to see no one else there other than Ophelia, a girl a year older than Kat yet in the same house as she was.
She took a seat next to the other Hufflepuff and greeted her with a smile, "Hey Opheila!" Kat replied. She had met the girl before briefly to know her name but really never talked to her, but she seemed very nice.

Ginny was just getting out of her Charms class when it was almost time for Ancient Runes. She really enjoyed the class, and she remembered Hermione telling her that it was rather fascinating and interesting, and like always, Hermione had been right. With her bag over one shoulder, she pushed the large oak door to the classroom open to see a few students already there. Deciding whether to sit in the front or back, she choose towards the front a bit but not the direct front, and sat down.
Noticing what was on the board, she took out some parchment, a quill and ink and her book, and started copying what was on the board down. Ginny had been good her classes, even the ones she hated like Potions. She smiled at the couple of Hufflepuffs that were in the room and waved a friendly hello in their direction.

Marva tucked a curl behind her ear, adjusted her strap on her messenger bag, and turned the corner down the hallway, on her way to the Study of Ancient Runes classroom, yet again. True, she loved all her classes, but she was feeling a bit hasty towards this one. She was doing great, of course, it just wasn't catching her attention or interest as much as her other studies. Nonetheless, she took notes diligently, listened carefully, and followed all instructions like she had always done.
She got to the doorway, peeked in, and noticed that there were only girls in there now. She took a breath and quietly, hastily walked in. She scoped out the room for a place to sit, not wanting to be too close to anyone she didn't know. There were other Hufflepuffs in there, but she never associated or spoke to them due to her social anxiety and isolation. She knew their names, but nothing of them. Marva took a seat behind the red-head, her hair falling in her face as she pulled her bag off her shoulder and took out her quill pen, ink, and parchment.
Looking up at the board, she studied today's lesson briefly before she began to copy, keeping to herself and not looking around too much. She smoothed her hair back behind her ears once again, and once she finished copying, she took out a book she loved about Ancient Runes. Class discussion hadn't begun, and people weren't all here, so she'd read. It kept her to herself, like a barrier between her and the rest of the class. There was something about being her- being different- that just bugged her. Her light grey eyes read over each line with interest, a smile on her face.

Ophelia heard someone enter the room behind her. It was a fourth year Hufflepuff who she had met a time or two before and who seemed sweet. She smiled and welcomed the girl to sit next to her.
"Hey Opheila!" The girl said brightly.
"Hello, Kat. How are you today? Are your classes going well?" She set her quill down, having just finished copying what was on the board. She looked back as a Gryffindor, Ginny Weasley, entered the room and made her way toward the front. Once seated she glanced back and waved at the two friendly. Ophelia returned the wave awkwardly, not having actually met the girl before and feeling a little awkward. Ophelia was a very friendly person, she was just shy and guarded at times.
"Are you excited for the first lesson?" Ophelia was asking Kat as Marva, another fourth year Hufflepuff, entered the room and took a seat. Though Ophelia knew her name, she hadn't talked to the girl much, but had heard the she was extremely smart. Ophelia couldn't help but wonder why she wasn't a Ravenclaw.

Venice was beat!. She just wanted to go to her common room and read a good book and relax. School was getting hectec for her. She just finished potions and was now off too Ancient Ruins class with Prof. Lockwood. Running down the corridor's and dropping books and papers behind her, she quickly turns around and picks up her belonging's hopeing that she wouldn't be late for class.
She got to the front door of class just in time, and popped her little body through and walked in. She noticed there were no fellow Ravenclaw's as of yet in the classroom. It had a couple Hufflepuff's and just one Gryfandor. She took a quick glance around the room and noticed Ginny Weasley. Everyone know's Ginny.
She walked passed Ginny and held up her hand and waved at her, smiled a bit and she made her way over to Hufflepuff girl. "Is her name Ophillia??" she asked herself but wasn't sure if she was right or not...
She took a seat across from her and smiled politely "Hello" she said with a grin as she grabbed her parchment and quills and started to copy the lesson on the board in the from of the class.

Ophelia looked up to see a Ravenclaw girl walk in. She looked a tad familiar, perhaps she had seen her a few times in the library. The girl walked past Ginny and over to herself and Kat. She sat in the row in front of them, but turned around to face Ophelia before starting on her work.
"Hello." The girl said with a grin. Ophelia returned the smile awkwardly and nervously. As this was her first year at Hogwarts, she hardly knew anyone, and growing up had been taught to begin every new conversation with suspicion. And so she did.
"Hello." Ophelia said in a guarded voice. "I'm Ophelia, a fifth year Hufflepuff." She decided to begin with the basics, obvious, but basics nonetheless.

Marva read on about the subject until she heard talking alongside her. She peeked her eyes up from behind the book and noticed another girl enter, a Ravenclaw. She watched her take a seat and say her greetings. Marva, herself, wasn't one for greetings, obviously. If anyone wanted to talk to her enough, they'd ask her or try to talk to her.
Sadly, though, Marva gave off a vibe of not really caring. She didn't want to seem rude, so when someone would look her way, she'd flash a small smile, and nod their way. She didn't wave though. There wasn't a need. The Hufflepuff began tapping her fingers on the spine of her book, then shifted her glance to the teacher. She looked stressed or upset about something- probably about teaching the class.
Once the class began, she would be fully alert, but for now, she'd zone in on everyone else's conversations.

Classes had never been more of a chore. The Sebastian Hawk he once was would have just flounced into them without a care, taken the nearest seat and got to work, exchanging words with the nearest available person (or Gale, if she was there) before returning his attention to his lesson, sparing nary a thought for the other occupants of the classroom. Now, however, there was nothing of that person to be found in the boy with the dark sapphire eyes and shaggy brown hair that glanced distrustfully at everyone in the immediate vicinity, as if none of them could really be trusted.
In his mind, they couldn't be.
His fingers playing with the spine of his textbook, the sixth year Gryffindor chose an open seat a suitable distance away from any of Slytherins, eyes flickering away from the other students with disinterest before he produced a quill and began writing, silently begging the others to just leave him to his task.

Delphi skipped into the Ancient Runes classroom, she wasn't late, just full of energy. She glanced around the room and saw people sitting alone. A young Hufflepuff and a sixth year Gryffindor. She smiled and glided towards the boy, smoothly sitting down beside him.
"Hello," She smiled brightly at the boy. She had seen him around, but didn't know him very well. "I'm Delphi Jaymesinn, but I absolutely loathe my first name, mostly. I prefer to go by my middle name, Emma, but not a lot of people comply with that request." She pouted, frowning dramatically. "I get used to it. But you can call me Emma if you want." She said happily, aware that she was rambling, but the boy seemed nice, and she figured he was shy. Delphi realized that when most shy people preferred to let the other person talk, that way they weren't forced to socialize. She at least hoped he wasn't annoyed.
Delphi Emma pulled her quill and parchment out. She hummed as she copied down what was on the board. She pulled a bag of raspberries from her bag and set it on her lap under the desk. She didn't go anywhere without a bag, and she really loved them.

Cassidy sat at the back of the class her chair was hard and well worn buy countless people sitting on it as she was but she liked it there, nobody bothered her and she would get in anybody's way, seeing how she felt nobody wanted to know her any way. She sat with her head on the desk copying ever so slowly what was on the board. She heard several people in the room somewhere to her left a small group talked among themselves and to her right was another group the rest just moving about the room. She gave a sigh her mind was not on the class one bit she just wanted out of this room. Turning her head she looked window to see the blue sky beyond and she sighed.
Once all the information was copied she placed her quill down next to her book and sighed deeply. She looked at what was now on the paper, none of it made any sense to her.

She groaned in defeat and slammed the book shut none too quietly as the sound echoed around the room she never looked up to see if any one noticed.

Delphi had just finished copying everything when she heard a book slam loudly from a few rows behind her. She winced and looked up at the teacher, expecting the girl to possibly get in trouble for her action. Delphi, being as bold as she was, turned to the fourth year Ravenclaw.
"Are you okay?" She asked flatly.

Cassidy looked up when she heard a voice ask if she was ok , she shook her head lightly " no, I have no clue what she's talking about " she said groaning again " I could never get runes even last year I think I only got threw by a fluke" she grabbed her things and moved down to sit next to the girl opening the book again her hand brushed over the page " what does this all mean" she said and she sighed " I'm cassidy, Cassidy Mitchell" she moved her jacket to show her house badge.
" yeah, I know, I should be getting all this, but I just can't and its frustrating me to bits" she said and looked at the girl hoping she could at least for this class help her out even a little, she was tired of not understanding and also not having any one who she could talk to now she was going to put her foot down with her life and take charge of it, nobody else could but her.

Marva eyeballed everyone as they poured in. A bright red-haired Ravenclaw sat down, speaking kind of loud behind her. She looked down at her notes and sighed. The teacher still hadn't started class. Needless to say, Marva was very disappointed in the School system.
Then a loud banging noise of a book being slammed echoed through the room. Marva winced and turned around sharply, eyeing the culprit. It was a Ravenclaw, seemingly in a sour mood.
"Are you okay?" Delphi asked flatly.
The Delphi girl had a tone in her voice that wasn't very sympathetic for the seemingly upset and flustered Ravenclaw.
The Hufflepuff scowled, her brows furrowed, and she eyed the Gryffindor behind her, lightening her gaze a bit before returning to the front of the class.
It astounded the young Hufflepuff that the teacher still hadn't started class. Why am I here? She thought groggily, her fingers rubbing her temples, her long curls falling down her back.
